It’s short and sweet and painful.
Suddenly there was a terrible feeling that washed over him as he heard you scream.
He has to keep his wits about him to get Vhagar to listen. “Dohaeras! Vhagar!” She can sense the dread and fear wash through her rider and knows in all her ancient wisdom that she must acquiesce, she listens immediately and starts to descend.
She lands with a great thud and the leaves shake on the trees with the force of her body coming to rest. Aemond hurries with the harness and slides down the side of the ancient battle scarred dragon and runs as hard as he can to where your body lays at the shore.
This is what torture really is. Seeing you lying still and barely breathing. He never knew pain this deep. Never. He’d rather cleave his hand from his body than feel this.
He runs to you and scoops you up in his arms. You look up at him and he feels his heart calm for a moment until the blood runs from your nose.
“No... No....” He starts to try and figure out a way to stop the blood, anything. He has desperation in his eyes. “Stay with me my love. You can’t go yet, not yet. No, look at me.” He gives you a weak smile as your lips part. He waits to hear your beautiful voice, but nothing comes out. You gasp loudly, and his face falls.
He’s heard this, he’s seen this too many times... he knows.
“No my angel, look at me. LOOK AT ME!” You are able to focus for one moment, but it’s gone in an instant, and he sees your soul. The thing that completed him and made him whole, the thing he could never live without, he watches as it leaves your eyes.
Aemond cries out. “NO! NO NO NO! Please take me instead please. Not her. Oh gods please please NO!”
He sits and cries and screams at the gods. Vhagar roars in the distance
