Okay so not to be a plant loving nerd but this plant!!! It’s name is xerophyta splendens (sorry I have no idea what it’s common name is) and it’s endemic to two mountains in Africa (mt. Mulanje in Malawi and mt. Namuli in Mozambique) like it literally doesn’t grow anywhere else in the world (naturally that is) that’s how rare it is. It forms a mutualistic relationship with a form of orchid that grows on its trunk as well as a bunch of other smaller plants!!! It’s basically the protector and provider for so many other species!! You can also use its leaves to make baskets and the leaves smell like vanilla when you crush them up!! It really only grows at high altitudes so you have to hike to the top of the mountains to see it but it is so worth it!

I always expect to feel terror and fear but I end up just feeling incredibly moved and emotionally raw at the end.

As much as I love Rahul Kohli as sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass every third word out of his mouth is just so British and like he hit the mark on literally every other aspect of that role except his American accent because it was just so atrocious
