“The first human child with an Eliksni name was born last week.”
“Say what? How is that possible? I didn’t think we could… Well, I mean, I know we could, but I didn’t think… there was that kind of compatibility… for, you know—”
“No, no, no… bells of nine hells, the stuff that goes through your head. No, just a human child given an Eliksni name.”
“By the parents? Human parents?”
“Yeah.”
“Why would they do that? Fallen godmother or something?”
“You could say that, I guess. Story is one of ‘em protected a small refugee caravan headed for the City last year. Stayed away, but picked off Red Legion with one of those wire rifles of theirs, kept the caravan from being discovered by scouts. By the time they got close to the City, they’d figured out who it was protecting them, even talked a bit. That’s how they learned the name, and gave it to the kid who wouldn’t have made it into town to be born without the Eliksni’s help.”
“Huh. Why’d they protect the refugees?”
“Dunno. Maybe it reminded them of the Eliksni exodus, searching for the Traveler’s salvation after the Whirlwind. Maybe some of them just recognize there’s no more to be gained by fighting anymore, just want to find a new way to live, even if that means living with former enemies.”
I’m completely creatively dead today, so here’s a little mini-tutorial on how to draw a Ghost. This is for the Destiny Community Artists who may be having trouble wrapping their heads around the one of the most iconic shapes in all of gaming. Fundamentally they’re two tetrahedrons superimposed on top of each other. If you stick to that structure, you can draw these little guys in any style or angle you want. Hope this helps!
Game devs always say they aren’t sexualising their characters, but don’t forget that Bungie took the humble Eliksni Shank, put it in fishnets and gave it tits.
“That’s because finding heavy ammo in the Crucible is cause for celebration, and when I pull out this sucker, I want everyone to know it’s party time.”
“And… is it party time?”
“Oh yeah. You hear Shaxx is dishing out double rank progress again this week, right?”
“Yeeeeess…”
“Well, I’ve been angling for one more rank reset this season, and I should’ve hit it a month ago, but just couldn’t get it together. This time, I’m gonna finish it, and that right there’s party time.”
“You’re awfully invested in this ranking system Shaxx has now. The competitive standings are one thing, but you know for Valor the ranks are made up and the points don’t matter, right?”
“You’d be right if I didn’t have something on the line with Shaxx this time. Five resets in the season, he said, and I’m not gonna blow it.”
Posting this here too since more of you follow my main than my side blogs.
I remember alpha testing destiny 1 with my friend. We couldn’t believe we both got selected. Then playing the beta, then starting our journey on the ps3. Waking up in the cosmodrome and being on the headset freaking out about the fallen.
Then we got the first dlc and we set aside our weekend for it. Same for every dlc since. We’ve met great friends through the prison of elders, strikes, crucible and raids. This game really stuck with me.
Now in destiny 2 my friend and I have kept going, with our new online friends having a blast with it.
I remember when I started to get into the lore and my friend pointed me to Byf and i get so moved every time i see how this community has come together not just for him but in general for all kinds of support. There is nothing like it to me.
I really hope Byf doesn’t mind me using his line but….I’ll see you star side guardians.
