Have you met with Gin lately?
"Yes, I have! We hang out a lot, and once our parents noticed we're friends, he started regularly sleeping over at our place. It's always so much fun! Whenever he's here my parents let us stay awake longer than usual, and even eat candy after dinner. Gin always shows me so many fun movies, too."
"Once I asked him if he isn't sad to be away from home so often and he said he isn't, that he's glad he doesn't have to be around his dad. I could never bear not seeing my dad for so long, especially after..."
He also shows me a lot of places! One time he took me to this place in his neighbourhood where all the cats gather! Almost all of them let me pet them. We stayed there for hours, and Kanna is even thinking about asking her parents for a cat.
"Plus, Gin's considering going to the same middle school as me. That would be nice!"

...i think she means "die", Kanna. Perhaps you could speak with big bro Joe to talk to her to get help from a professional? Maybe that will help her night terrors.
