Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Things i would love to see the scooby doo franchise do in future films/tv shows
1. let scooby be more of a dog
it feels like these days, the people who write scooby forget he's a dog, not a human in a dog suit so i would like them to make scooby act more dog like e.g. wagging his tail when he meets the others again after splitting up, growling and barking at bad guys to protect his friends, playing with a dog toy, chasing his tail and etc
2. let scooby care about the others
it seems that that just keep putting scooby with shaggy so it looks like scooby only cares about shaggy and not the other 3 when he does, he's saved fred a few times, he gets loads of attention and loves from daphne and he helps velma find her glasses or help her with solving the mystery, so in the future, let scooby spent time with fred, daphne and velma more as they are much as scooby's owners as what shaggy is.
3. if they bring back scrappy, redesign him
make scrappy look like a puppy great dane as his current design looks like a bipedal jack russell terrier/chihuahua mix, so make scrappy look like what scooby did in 'a pup named scooby doo' but make him a little small as he could be a runt, also change his collar to make it a green and his personality can be he looks up to scooby like before but he a bit clumsy as he still trying to walk around in his big feet, loves to have cuddles with scooby and sleep on him when he's tired, barks instead of talks and he has this cute dopey bark, let him being stuff to velma when he thinks it's intresting for her to know, loves playing fetch with fred, loves snoozing on daphne's lap in the van, eat a lot like shaggy and scooby and he is just a cute, dopey lovable great dane puppy

theres never a time where the Scooby Gang hating on Scrappy will make sense, i feel. like think about it. in-universe, what did Scrappy ever do to make them hate him that isnt what he already did when they used to like him?
literally all the jokes in modern Scooby Doo where the entire gang is like "oh we don't talk about Scrappy ¬¬" feel so meanspirited for something that just literally does not make any sense.
the ONE TIME Scrappy did something evil was because James Gunn hated him for no reason other than "he was written into the show at a time where the writing was less good", and it was in a movie that isnt even canon to the cartoons, so even that cant be a reason for the characters to hate him.
like i dunno, i might not care about Scrappy himself that much (i dont dislike him either) but what i do care about, is that the characters are basically mandated to never ever bring up a part of the series' history unless its to shit on it for absolutely no reason and act OUT OF CHARACTER at that to be mean to a character that is literally a CHILD, where the writers could instead like, write Scrappy better? the writers could bring Scrappy back and make him better as a character instead of just ragging on his existence every time they get to even aknowledge he existed.
like they brought back Flimflam, a character from a show Scrappy existed in, and a character most people also agreed SUCKED in that show and was just as if not more annoying than Scrappy.... yeeeet Flimflam was written better there, and people really liked him in that movie. and yet still, the only time they mention Scrappy in that movie is like "Hey, where's Scrappy?" and everyone answering "Who's Scrappy??" like COME ON, you FIXED FLIMFLAM and couldnt bother doing the same with the one most overhated character? so overhated, the trope that means "character everbody hates" is called THE SCRAPPY.

The new Velma series has made me realize that when people try to “adultify” Scooby-Doo it usually relies on the popular parlance (Shaggy’s a stoner, Velma does all the work & is a lesbian, Fred & Daphne are always secretly making out) or limited knowledge (Fred would be a MAGA supporter, Daphne’s the hot one who needs to be rescued)
About the only one of those with any kind of long term or actual/possible credentials is Velma as a lesbian (or at least sapphic, I think). All the rest aren’t actually supported by the show or the characters’ personalities. (I guess Daphne is stylish/conventionally attractive but the “hot one” mentality seems to rest on her being “sexy trophy” which isn’t really a thing, especially in the earlier series. Heck, Velma has joined the “sexified” angle.)
I wish when people wanted to update Scooby-Doo or make it make it more adult, they would built the story and situations and dynamics from the actual characters? So often it ignores a lot of dynamics in Scooby-Doo that I like.
Where’s my I rely on you/I’ll do the thing even if don’t want to dynamic of Fred and Shaggy?
Where’s my sharing stupid jokes/got your back/good research team/hints of snark dynamic of Velma and Daphne?
Where’s my we’re on the same wavelength without saying a word/pun & mystery book dorks dynamic of Fred and Velma?
Where’s my I’ll do it for you/I trust you to be brave/sheer sweetness dynamic of Velma and Scooby?
Where’s my lady respect/clues & mystery hunters dynamic of Daphne and Fred?
Where’s my bantering/exasperated/very caring buddy dynamic of Shaggy and Scooby? (Okay I do get this, but sometimes I miss when the two had distinct personalities and sometimes teased or aggravated each other.)
Where’s my domestic/homey/get each other really well & how the other ticks dynamic of Shaggy and Daphne?

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
