Shoutout to Percy for being one of the only genuinely likeable protagonists of a YA series and giving absolutely zero shits when it comes to telling off the gods. Happy birthday King🫡😌

Percabeth AU fanfic proposal:
Fairy tale retelling of Disney’s Enchanted where Percy is a lost prince from Ogygia who gets tricked into coming to Earth on his wedding night. He runs into Annabeth, a divorce lawyer who’s extremely cynical about love. As they spend more time together, Percy realizes the world isn’t as black and white as he had once thought, and Annabeth learns that maybe true love isn’t so outrageous after all.
Oh wait… I already wrote it ;)

As Percy continued through the winding pathways, he stopped in a clearing with a wishing well in the center. It was large and imposing, almost out of place in such an otherwise cheerful area. The stones forming the walls of the well looked ancient. And yet... there was something oddly beautiful about it. Percy stepped towards it, curiosity getting the best of him.
"What a handsome groom!" crooned a voice behind him. Percy spun around in surprise. An elderly man stood a few feet away, dressed in a threadbare cloak and supporting himself on a gnarled, wooden staff.
"Thank you," Percy said cautiously, wondering where the man had come from, "Who are you?"
The man waved off the question as if it held no importance.
"Did you make a wish?"
"What would I wish for?" Percy asked, "All my dreams have come true."
The man smiled wide, showing the few crooked teeth he had left. Percy tried not to pull away as he stepped closer and looped an arm around his shoulders.
"A wish on your wedding day is good luck, my dear. Close your eyes and make a wish."
The man sounded so earnest, and Percy hated the idea of refusing him. He was harmless, after all. Sure, he may not have made the greatest first impression, but Percy was never one to make hasty judgments.
"Alright, but afterwards I must be going. There's people waiting for me," he told the stranger.
"Of course," the old man assured him, arm still draped around him.
Percy leaned forward and peered into the mouth of the well. He could see nothing but darkness. It seemed bottomless, but of course, that was impossible.
"I wish..." Percy trailed off, wondering what he could possibly ask for that hadn't already been granted him. At last, he knew what to say. Percy opened his mouth to speak, but before a sound could leave his lips, he felt a hand on his back. With a strength far greater than anything the old man could have possibly possessed, Percy was shoved forward into the empty blackness.
Everything was silent. Percy could feel the sensation of falling, but there was no rush of wind in his ears, no screaming piercing the air, although he was sure he was screaming. When he was able to gather his senses, he stretched out his arms, trying desperately to find the walls of the well. But there was nothing, only darkness and silence and air. And he fell and fell and fell.
Far above him, far out of reach, the old man was cackling. His voice, once filled with gravel, was sanded into silk. His stature grew, his now massive form broad and muscular, and his shawl transformed into robes of rich scarlet. King Atlas turned from the well with a regal finality as his advisor stepped out of the shadows.
"Where did you send this one?" He asked lazily, plucking a leaf off his shoulder.
The King grinned, flashing a row of straight, white teeth.
"To a place with no happily ever afters."

Beauty and the Beast AU where Annabeth has been turned into a Medusa-esque monster due to her pride, and in to break the curse, someone must fall in love with her before the enchanted rose wilts. In the dead of winter, a year before the deadline, a village boy appears at the castle gates on a black stallion.
He got lost in the snow storm and begs her for a place to stay the night. She begrudgingly agrees (with some encouragement from her household staff, who cannot leave the castle grounds until the spell is broken). Annabeth wakes up the next day ready to get back to her normal routine of peace and isolation when she finds the boy sitting in her living room sipping a cup of tea.
Reading the confusion on her eyes, he gestures to the window, where the snow storm rages, even worse than the night before. He promises to help her out around the castle and thanks her profusely for her hospitality. Cautiously, he introduces himself as Percy, and she reluctantly gives her name in return. It’s been so long since she’s interacted with anyone outside of the house, and her movements are stiff and awkward. Percy doesn’t seem to notice, though, and talks to her as if they’re old friends, as if she isn’t a monster with snakes for hair.
Slowly, she begins to feel more comfortable. She even catches her smile a few times, and once (gods forbid) she laughed at a stupid joke he made. Percy tells her about his life in the village, that he never felt like he fit in, that his neighbors find him strange and treat him as such. Annabeth wonders how anyone could think this funny, warm person in front of her was anything other than wonderful.
The storm lasts for the entire winter, and during that time, the two grow quite close. When it finally subsides, both parties are reluctant to part. Percy promises to return, but says he has to get back home and let his mother know he’s okay.
When he passes through the gates, Annabeth is positive she’s seeing him for the last time. But sure enough, Percy comes riding back in on Blackjack a month later. Months pass, Percy traveling between his village and Annabeth’s castle. She’s the happiest she’s ever been in many years, and she thinks that even if he doesn’t love her back, she wouldn’t want to spend this last year any other way.
One day, though, Blackjack bursts through the gates, Percy slumped over his back. Annabeth rushes out to meet them, and Percy tells her what happened, his voice so strained she can barely make out his words. They were attacked by wolves on the way to her castle, and he was bitten by one during their escape. Annabeth cleans and dresses the wound as best she can, but after a few days, dread settles over her as she sees infection has set in. Her garden herbs are nowhere near strong enough to heal him. She knows the only way to save him is to go to the village and get medicine.
Percy begs her not to go, that the town will hunt her down as a monster, but he’s so feverish it’s almost incoherent. Annabeth tells her staff to look after him, wraps a scarf tightly around her head and shoulders, and sets off for the village. She knows she may not return, but her resolve is hardened. Annabeth will do at least one good thing in her miserable life, or die trying.

Ok but Percy’s the type of person who would, out of the blue, say something incredibly wise and surprisingly clever, and then in the same breath ask if nature documentaries are the animal equivalent of reality tv.

I want the dichotomy of dark-and-broody Percy walking through Central Park with ray-of-sunshine Estelle. Percy’s learned to always be on the defensive, chasing off any potential monsters with his RBF, meanwhile Estelle gawks at everything in wide-eyed wonder. But while Percy may seem intimidating to the rest of the world, whenever he interacts with Estelle his real smile lights up his face—the crooked one that makes his eyes squint—and suddenly he’s the human embodiment of a golden retriever.

Mortal AU where Percy’s dog, Mrs. O’Leary, is playing at a dog park and manages to escape. Cue a chase scene in which Mrs. O’Leary gracefully dodges all the obstacles in her way whilst Percy crashes through them in a desperate attempt to catch his dog. Mrs. O’Leary snatches a woman’s kebab out of her hand and settles down to feast. Percy clips the leash onto her collar and immediately starts apologizing to the annoyed looking businesswoman. He learns that her name is Annabeth, and she was on her lunch break. Percy offers to buy her an apology lunch, though from her expression he has little hope she’ll take him up on it. What he doesn’t know is that Annabeth finds the muddy, grass stained man in front of her oddly endearing, no matter how hard she tries to remain disgruntled. When she says “yes,” he looks so surprised and relieved she can’t help but laugh. Annabeth ends up taking the rest of the day off, spending her time with Percy (and Mrs. O’Leary) walking around Central Park. When Percy asks if he can buy her lunch again tomorrow, Annabeth accepts with smile.

First of all I’m not white😭💀 Second this was clearly poking fun at that whole subplot bc obviously Annabeth was not oppressed for being blonde LMAO
I think the PJO Disney+ series should keep the “overcoming the blonde stereotype” subplot except with Percy and it’s a recurring gag throughout the season

"Okay, let's go over the alphabet one more time."
Percy groaned.
"I've already said it six times now!"
Annabeth and Percy were sitting on a quilt in the strawberry fields, going over their weekly Greek lessons. Chiron had asked her the previous summer if she could tutor him, and she had agreed (albeit begrudgingly). That was before the whole lightning bolt fiasco, though, and they had barely even gotten three sessions in before they had to leave. Needless to say, between the stress of finding out he was half god and almost dying on their quest every five seconds, Percy had forgotten the few things she had taught him. She couldn't blame him, of course, but they were basically starting over from lesson one.
It was almost better this way, though. A year ago, they were strangers, enemies even. The lessons were awkward and stilted, with long periods of time where neither of them talked. Say what you will about putting the fate of the world in the hands of a group of kids, but it was definitely a bonding experience. Though Annabeth still couldn't figure out how she felt about him, they were closer now, their interactions easy.
"Just once more," Annabeth urged, "Promise."
Percy sighed and intoned monotonously, "Alpha, beta, gamma, delta…"
As she listened, her gaze fell over the ripe berries surrounding them. It was somewhat embarrassing to admit how much she looked forward to their lessons each week. It was peaceful, the breeze always carried a sweet scent, and she loved teaching. She also quite enjoyed her company, though whenever that thought crossed her mind, she shut it down immediately. Percy was a son of Poseidon, for the gods' sake. She needed to keep whatever "feelings" she may or may not have in check.
"…Phi, chi, psi, omega."
Percy beamed at her, proud of making it through without stumbling. Annabeth couldn't keep her own grin off her face. Olympus above, why was his smile so damn contagious?
"Not bad, Seaweed Brain."
She couldn't say for sure when the name had become a term of endearment, but she told herself it was no big deal. Friends teased each other like that all the time, right?

Estelle was 13 when Percy stumbled into the apartment, bloodied and bruised.
She had been watching TV in the living room when she heard the sound of a key being turned in the lock. But something was off. It took far too long, the lock clicking and scraping awkwardly, as if the owner was fumbling with the key, struggling to fit it into the lock. Percy must have been leaning against the door for support because when it finally opened, he was knocked off balance and had to catch himself on the door frame.
Stella ran to him immediately, helping him sit at the kitchen table. He looked worse than she had ever seen him. Percy had encountered plenty of other monsters since the one she witnessed when she was 7, but he had always gotten away relatively unscathed, save for a few scratches. But this… she couldn't imagine what could have done this to him.
