“Three? That’s a very specific number.” At this point he’s just joking with Ari, he doesn’t care if he gets him coffee or not. “Well–that’s your problem, not mine. Besides, it’s not bitter. I don’t take my coffee bitter.” He scoffs lightly at the other’s whining. “Hey, at least you got it done.”

“three? nah, seven would be way more specific. i feel  like three is a pretty standard number,” he shrugged. seven would be too many coffees, though. he wasn’t sure if he could actually go through that. three was possible. “not bitter? honey...” he rolled his eyes. “your tastebuds are fucked.” he pointed out conclusively. he would not accept any form of come back. “i know. i made a note to myself and pasted it on the mirror. not to leave readings until the very last minute. it was hell, man.”

steebpark​:

steve listens as ari explains what he’s doing, trying not to move too much despite the odd nod here and there. gaze drops to ari’s sketch, brows lift slightly in surprise. “ ah wow, ” he says, chuckling lightly. “ that’s cool. you’re really talented. is this, ah- ” he pauses. “ -the kind of idea i’m giving you right now? ” truthfully, he’s a little lost, but he tries not to let it show, offering a polite smile.

“you like it?” he looks up at steve, his eyes a little hopeful, his heart beating a little bit too fast in anticipation. validation mattered too much for him. “oh– i mean... yeah, sort of. not really– it kind of started as something else, but then the light hit you and it just... it fit the drawing.” he shrugs. “i can make you an actual portrait if you like.”

asher-west​:

      “Oh, why thank you.” Asher laughs, doing a sort of mock bow at the… Compliments? Observations? Whatever they are, he appreciates them. “Yeah, okay, you make a point.” He shrugs, taking another sip. “I can probably get away with them before my TE classes.”

“you’re very welcome, my dude. but i mean it.” he grinned, giving asher a light pat in the back as if they had known each other forever. it was easy for him to feel comfortable around certain people. “oh, definitely. don’t punish yourself, bro. add a little sugar. even mary poppins said it.”

lunaseongs​:

“oh, i see, more like a passive interest.” luna has those, of course, random interests that’ll catch her eye, she’ll read a book or two about them, and then use up space in her brain for essentially useless facts about it that nobody will really ever ask for. “i’ve read somewhere that the human brain can’t actually imagine human faces, all the faces we see in our dreams are strangers we’ve passed on the street. that’s wild to consider.”

“exactly like that.” he smiled. he had too many of those. and most of them passed and he didn’t remember them again, but he liked the subject of dreams and imagination because that was what his art was mainly about. “really? that’s interesting. fuck– i wonder how many faces we’ve actually seen in our lives. that’s going to keep me up at night from now on.”

“Awh I’m glad baby, I take it you had a good date?” She rests her chin on her palm, feeling a little tired after mingling and eating her weight in cupcakes. “Yeah but I know I’mma regret it later when I can’t sleep because I got a stomach ache.” She laughs, “I was gonna do laps around the track after but I feel like that’ll just shake all the food around.” Lucky she’s comfortable enough around him to discuss her digestion issues. 

“she was lovely, yes.” he smiled. he had lost her a while ago, and he wondered if it was his fault to let her go, but he didn’t want to smother her either. it wasn’t like they were anything. but he was glad he had met aileen either way. she was cute and sweet. “then you don’t sleep, that’s the secret!” he joked. he didn’t think he could spend a night without sleeping anymore. he was getting old. “laps? do you want to be a human blender? no! take it easy. light up a joint, maybe... ride the feeling.” because that was exactly his plan.

“can you wear anything with coconut in it?” she’s not sure if it’s about ingesting it or exposure of any kind. “oh, that sucks! but i guess if you have to be allergic to soy, then it’s nice you can drink dairy milk. i know soy is in a lot of things, though.” jas is relieved she doesn’t have to pay attention to that. “did you figure all of these out naturally or did some of them come out in allergy tests? nope! i’m lucky – for now. i always think i’m gonna develop one someday.”

“wear? oh, you mean like coconut oil and stuff? i’d rather not. i’ve never actually used it. i’m scared,” he laughs, because it was funny, considering in some cultures people were scared of the coconut man. i guess he knew the real meaning of it. “yeah, it’s kind of tough, but it helps me stay in shape, i guess. i have to look into literally everything i eat, so it works out?” he laughs. if he didn’t, he would be ten times his weight for sure. “uh... most of them i ended up at the hospital. some others i already had an epipen at home, so it wasn’t that bad.” he laughs. “i was too old when i got an allergy test, so i kinda knew about all allergies.” he shrugs. “can you develop allergies?”

"i’ve been looking for you everywhere.” he grinned the second he spotted lex in the common room. he had been thinking about him, more like, hoping the law of attraction would bring him to him instead of actually trying to find him– it was a very big school. it would take him a lot of time. but it worked! he was there, and ari was grinning as he sat in front of him. “i’m here to pay my debt.” || @oflex​

a hand instinctively reaches up to his jaw, covering it for a moment, because his cheeks will always heat up from compliments. “ ah, thanks? ” he clears his throat, or maybe he’s coughing, either way it’s awkward. “ no, no, it’s fine. i’ve never had someone draw me before. ” feels a little self-conscious, but it’s fine! “ do you just need me to sit like this? ”

“yeah, yeah–” he smiled up at him, but he wasn’t really sure about what the other said. he was too focused on his drawing for that little moment. “oh– i mean, i’m not drawing you absolutely you. it’s kind of... the idea of you. what you’re giving me right now, you know?” that edible had hit him just right, just like the sun was hitting his roommate. “yes– i mean, i’m done with you there. you can come here and see if you want.” ari said, moving aside. “see?” (imagine something like this, but it looks like him)

Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, they nodded. Because they knew that he was right, it was just water after all. “Man, I always feel so bad whenever stuff like this happen”

“it’s alright. we’re only human. honestly, a party would not be a party without some sort of spillage. you just made it official.”

“Just for me?” she asked, and she couldn’t help the slight blush that snuck it’s way from her neck up to her cheeks. “Okay.” Aileen tucked the flowers he’d given her in one arm and reached out, offering her hand to him, taking his in her own. “Food first.” She pulled them toward the buffet station, hoping that she didn’t seem too pushy as she pulled him with her. 

“mhm.” he nodded confidently. he was really nervous about having a date. he didn’t have much experience with dates, or women, or men– he was just used to knowing people, but never getting anywhere with them. he wanted to be what aileen expected out of a date, and really, he wasn’t picky at all. he held her hand and let her pull her anywhere she wanted him to. “oh, my god– i really hoped you said that. i can smell the sweets from here.”

he listened intently as ari read everything back to him, a furrow in his brow to catch every detail. it couldn’t be wrong, or he wouldn’t eat it. no, he didn’t care about how it would make anyone else feel. “that’s perfect.” he nods confidently. “and a coffee too.”

“gotcha– you got my number in case you want anything else.” he smiled softly and was quick to leave the room after putting on shoes. why did he even wear them? he hated them. but the floors were slippery. he didn’t want to spill hazel’s coffee on his way. he collected everything and a little more from the cafe, and made his way back fast enough with his hands so full he could barely knock with his hands, so he did it with a hip. “hazel, man... can you help me out here?”

        “ YEAH, I’M AWARE. it’s fucking freezing. ”   hence him asking ari why he was out here to begin with.   “ it’s not like she’s sleeping outside, it’s just a walk. she’ll be fine. quit messing with her, or she’ll bite you. ”   despite his words, lucy’s tag is gently wagging behind her, clearly loving the attention.

“bite me?” he looked up at caden, wondering if he had gone crazy. “she loves me already.” he pouts, as he gives her a couple of head rubs.

      “It’s not a crime — I get it though, I’m acting like some yoga mom.” Asher rolls his eyes. “Okay, okay, I take it back. I miss the sweet syrupy taste, but I’m trying to stay healthy and stay on top of my classes for my last ever semester, and drinking basically sugar water all the time doesn’t help.” Asher misses when he wasn’t worried about staying in shape. 

he laughs because he can imagine him as a yoga mom. it’s funny, really. the pants, the tumbler, all of it. “well, you look healthy enough. your cheeks have some color, your lips are pink enough, there’s no belly– and sugar is a natural source of energy, so, you could use some of it and burn it during your classes.”

Their gaze moved to land on the person helped them, feeling their cheeks heat up. “Ah man, I am really sorry. I should have been more alert about what I was doing” they apologized. They knew how disheartening it was whenever they accidentally spilled water or soda on their own clothes. So this entire ordeal made their heart beat faster.

“it’s alright. it’s just a few drops on my pants. they’ll come out easily.” he smiled softly at the blonde. “plus, there are enough drinks around here. nobody will miss that one.”

     a brow raises at ari’s reaction, and now conor feels a little bad for how he reacted. “it’s really alright,” conor says flatly, but he thinks the other won’t let this go. “it was just tea, so not a big deal.”

“oh! what kind of tea?” he got up to his feet and went up to the cupboard of the shared kitchen in the common area. “i store some tea up here. i’ve got a few.”
