Apologies for the inactivity. It's been a busy month with dealing with released Delibird and such. Hopefully by New Years we'll be able to get all these guys to a shelter.

Since its that gift giving time of year I feel it necessary to remind everyone that when you buy a Rotom phone, or other technology that may contain a pokemon helper, you are not just buying a new gadget. You are buying the pokemon inside as well.

Just because it is acting as an electronic assistant does not mean it doesn't require care and attention like any other pokemon you may catch in the wild.

If you or the recipient of your gift cannot handle the commitment of taking care of a Rotom, Porygon, or other pokemon bundled with electronic devices, then please purchase a pokemon-free alternative.

Well today sure was a quest. A trainer's Mr. Mime blocked her in with barriers as a joke. But I got my first Recovery Capture Card out of it. With this, if my Capture Styler is damaged, each time I capture a Pokemon it will repair itself a bit.

So, I would not honestly not trust the Jennies with Pokemon incidents if their treatment of human beings are anything to go by. Just contact your local Ranger Base.

There ARE a few people out there I'd stillove to strangle with my bare hands and up there is this Unovan prick "The Pokemon Whisperer", who's whole thing is "teaching pokemon about human forms of love and affection" (as if ours are superior!) in order to curb problem behaviors (teach them learned helplessness). His shit kept fucking rerunning in the small hours of the morning and there was this episode with a Patrat where it kept biting it's trainer and you could tell the poor thing was stressed out of its mind, its fur was thinning. So this fucking guy, without even analyzing the household or ANYTHING, proclaims that every time the Patrat bites him he should hug it.

Newsflash dipshit!!! Things like Patrat are prey species! If you pick it up and squeeze it it's gonna think you're trying to eat it and scare the shit out of it! Which is often just gonna make it bite you more! From the state of the poor thing I wouldn't be surprised if a pattern of rough and stressful handling was what got it so bitey in the first place!

You. Do not. Force. A Pokemon. To. Adapt. To. Your way. Of giving affection. YOU adapt to thiers. Respect your Pokémon's boundaries. If you can't handle that you don't deserve to keep the fucking species.

This might be a bad take, and feel free to prove my argument wrong, but I don’t particularly feel like catching wild shinies and putting them on your team with the reasoning “they’ll die in the wild” is the best excuse to just. Catch a Pokémon without thinking.

Yes, wild shiny Pokémon have drastically higher mortality rates than normal Pokémon, but I don’t think that gives us, as humans, the right to strip them away from their wild life if they prefer it that way. If anything, we should choose to put them in sanctuaries if their quality of life is so poor.

I think it should really be based more on how the Pokémon itself is handling it. I’ve seen videos of Shiny predator Pokémon using their sparkle gene to their advantage, luring in prey and spoiling themself on easy hunts as a result, but people would say that it’s cruel to not capture the hunter because it’s quality of life is severely lowered. In some aspects it’s bound to be lowered, but I feel people don’t take the positives into account as much as they should.

If it lowers the quality of life, then humans should only step in at a certain level, for example, an apex predator Mon that has no trouble hunting regardless of the shiny gene should be left alone, and ISNT over hunting, but a young Sneasel incredibly vulnerable to predators should be caught and brought to a wild Pokémon sanctuary. The latter includes any shiny Pokémon that are rejected by their mothers!!

I understand humans need to help everything, but I feel sometimes that people fail to realize that stepping in could do more harm than good… The urge to just, take something and make it yours even with good intentions. It feeds more into natural human greed, even if it does help. We just need to acknowledge that at least .

I think there should be nature sanctuaries dedicated entirely to shiny Pokémon. If there’s a shiny rejected or with a very low chance of survival, bring them to the sanctuary instead!!

Then they’ll be able to live a peaceful life without being out through the stressful process of adjusting to human-caught life when they really rather be wild.

This is not me blaming anyone who catches shiny Pokémon whatsoever!! I used to think I’d do the same thing if I saw a wild shiny, but I do believe we should handle this topic with more nuance than it currently has.

This is meant to apply to Pokémon that DONT want to be caught! And this is meant to be up for discussion!! Please correct me on ANYTHING I have gotten wrong I’m begging please /genuine

Alright, so it looks like enough rangers are coming in that I can go back to being stationed at Argan City. Still no word on the museum reopening, but I'm a lot more suited to working with Pokemon than patrolling a property.
