Hi there! We’re definitely pretty active as far as a small group goes. Obviously some days the dash moves more quickly than others. All of our current members have remained in contact and we currently have some needing to be primarily mobile, so we’re doing a lot of things over discord too.

We love a good cliché here at Rom Com — that’s what these movies are all about. So for our first official para event, we’re going exactly that route.
New York City is experiencing an area-wide power outage, leaving residents and tourists alike stranded in various locations until the problem is fixed. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), many of them aren’t alone.
NOTE: This event is mandatory and paras should be posted by Sunday, March 17th, 2019 at 11:59pm EST.
For this event, I’ve used a randomized team generator to create pairs. The pairs are as follows:
Kitty ( @wildemama ) & Finn ( @nychudson )
Quinn ( @quinndepedent ) & Marley ( @mrlsrose )
Blaine ( @nycbdanderson ) & Puck ( @xpuckermanx )
Sam ( @nycsam ) & Rachel ( @starringrachel )
Kurt ( @khummels ) & Tina ( @lawyertcc )
The goal is to write a para with the person you’re paired up with detailing how the two characters came to be stuck together and what unfolded during the blackout! Maybe your character panics. Maybe they’re worked up because they have somewhere to be. Maybe they’re pumped because any time spent here is an hour they’re not at work. And maybe whatever it is, they’re going to unload it all on whoever happens to be sitting next to them.
So that everyone is on the same page, we’re going to say the blackout lasts a total of about an hour. Your characters’ time together could be as eventful, boring, awkward, amazing, terrible, etc. as you can imagine.
If you need some ideas about where they might end up stuck together, I’ve come up with a few suggestions to get you started:
On the subway
In an elevator
In a tiny local bookstore/coffee shop
Someone’s apartment/house
In a taxi/car going through a (now very dark) tunnel
A theatre
A very enclosed space like a closet for some reason
Get creative!
Remember that this is just for fun; it’s simply a writing exercise to encourage further interaction with everybody, so nothing incredibly eventful has to occur. Hopefully characters just get to know each other a little more — for better or worse.
Tag all of your paras with rc!event and rc!event001.

Hello my lovely Rom Com members!
I’ve been receiving feedback the past few days, which is great! It’s super helpful to hear from you guys and make this the best environment possible going forward.
That being said, I’d like to take this opportunity to give a general reminder of some of the rules.
First, I know this is an AU and things are much different from canon Glee. However, there is definitely a line when it comes to general characterization. These aren’t OCs so personalities are still there. We want to make sure we’re staying in character and can hear the voice of that canon character. I find that watching old episodes really helps me nail this down when I need help or inspiration.
Second, the rules also outline including everyone. This has been great, but while we love growth and development for our own characters, I’d also like to give a general reminder that replies should not be one-sided and should offer some substance for other characters to be able to grow and develop too. The point of a group setting is using interactions and relationships between characters to move forward!
One last thing: remember that the movies are a guideline and should not be the entire basis of your character. These are fictional people we’re writing, but people nonetheless and they have substance, which comes from you, the writer!
Everyone here is amazing and I’ve really loved writing with all of you. But as I said, feedback is always appreciated and taken into consideration seriously, so these are things I felt would be a good general reminder for everybody going forward.
