I am so irritated by the fact that I like this.
It would make sense.
And yet, Michael and Fran are my favorites?? I don't want to see them change??!!
*weeps*
I've just had the weirdest bridgerton theory come to me - I saw a post earlier that they are potentially working on a queer storyline and my brain has been working.
What if the queer storyline is Francesca? BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD!!?
So if you've read the books, you'll know that Francesca's first husband sadly dies early on in their marriage. What if instead of getting Michael Stirling, we get a Michelle Stirling? (Or any other female name equivalent - Michelle was the first that came to me). In theory, Francesca would be a wealthy widow and able to support herself so we wouldn't necessarily have to have her get married again to support herself or her partner?
Just think about the queer pining we would get if they had it exactly the same but gender swap Michael. Francesca marrying their cousin (or they could even make John siblings with them)
Am I crazy or would this low-key be really good?

"Bridgerton fans are so shallow to only think actors are hot after their 'glow-ups'!!!"
Does it help that I don't find Colin attractive even post-glow-up? Does that help???

Yet more reasons why this whole season 3 thing makes no sense :):):)
Hot take, but LW being big part of Bridgerton narration and marketing makes me wish they kept polin story for the last or at least after B, E, and F. I know there're many factors: Pen is clearly producers's fave, Netflix famously has problems with keeping the shows longer than three seasons, actors are getting more famous and busier, LW wasn't big part of the books, especially latter ones... But if none of this were important to consider, I think it would be and incredibly satisfying to see the full-ass slow burn and explore deep close friendship and let LW evolve from Gossip Girl to an actual journalist who has a voice to change things for the better.

Aang: All life is sacred. I cannot, and will not, compromise my values. I mustn't take even just one life. Even if it's a monster's life, my philosophy – my culture's philosophy – is to avoid taking life at all costs. As much as you'll try to drill it in me, it's not who I am. I'm not going to kill the a single living creature, not even the Fire Lord.
Meanwhile, Sokka:

I get really defensive when people say Season 1 is better than Season 2, but in truth, I watch very small portions of Season 2, and I will rewatch most of Season 1. It's just that the main couple is more bland/uninteresting to me and the drama seemed kind of silly, whereas Season 2's leads gave me trauma, mutual pining, 75 almost-kisses, and more trauma.
I guess what I'm saying is that Season 2 is a poorly-executed, badly-plotted, nonsense train wreck that I can only watch about an hour of all together (for Kanthony), but I still prefer it to Season 1 because Feeeelssss.
Also, I have feelings for Kate. Strong feelings.

Maybe they’ve learned something from the criticism of s2? Do you think there’s any chance s3 will be better about focusing on the Bridgerton’s and their love interests, or are you expecting more random filler storylines?
Honestly, I have no clue! I'm not getting my hopes up - but I think they're at least hinting at some Kanthony plotlines, and they've set up enough conflict for a full season, as well as all the other books they kind of need to set up, but ... we'll see.

I have never agreed with a Bridgerton post more. 😭 I will never understand why they don’t make the most of the cast they have and build up to their canon romances to create anticipation for each of their seasons, and instead throw random crap at us no one likes. I mean, NO ONE liked Cousin Jack, I can’t believed they thought anyone would. It’s like they created that storyline for the sole purpose of using up space rather than just giving us Bridgerton storylines or sibling moments or ya know, anything we could have enjoyed!
Still watching (mostly for Kathony crumbs) but so many of the showrunner’s & writers choices are ridiculous. I don’t get it.
YES! I so agree! I'll keep watching the series because there aren't a lot of other options for historical romance adaptations, tbh, but it's just ... annoying. I want the couple I came to watch, damnit!

I've been rewatching the enjoyable portions of Season 2 of Bridgerton (e.g. scenes that are about Kanthony and only Kanthony) and skipping the rest, and what I'm remembering is that Bridgerton has a TON of extra time they're not using to PROPERLY INCLUDE JOHN/FRANCESCA, THE SOPHIE/BENNEDICT SETUP, AND MORE BRIDGERTON FAMILY CUTENESS.
Will they? ... no. We'll probably just have more Featherington crap or another side plot introduced that no one cares about.
Will I still watch it? Yeah, sure.
... once.
Much as I watched the Featherington and the other dude's club thingy and the Eloise subplot once and have not since.
You can't ask anything more of me, though. I am only human.

:D :D :D
this
ok so one thing about season 2 that will never sit right with me is how the writers wrote edwina. it was edwina who kept insisting at every opportunity that anthony is what she wanted even despite kate discouraging her. then suddenly when she realises he doesnt love her (as kate has mentioned like a hundred times before), its suddenly kate who was pushing edwina to marry. then the writers added in this whole "taking back my power" monologue for edwina that just doesnt make sense. the whole thing feels unearned. and they made her needlessly and unbelievably cruel with the half sister line. so yeah its incredibly hard for me to like edwinas character. and before anyone goes there, my dislike of edwina has nothing to do with race. i am a brown asian woman myself. i love the actress charitra chandran and i think she did a phenomenal job. it is simply edwina the character from the series that i do not like.

THIS IS THE TAKE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
They're the true friends to lovers.
Colin and Penelope are "in love with my best friend's brother who thinks of me as a little sister."
I just realized Julia Quinn gave us a better (technically) friends-to-lovers arc with Michael and Francesca than Colin and Penelope (who were barely friends to begin with).
