I LOVE WATER COOLERS SO MUCH.

I love their shape, I love clean they can look with the proper care, I love seeing the water in their tank softly vibrate alongside its mechanical hum. I love the sound they make, from the electricity buzzing in the socket to the water bubbling to the surface. I love the subtle off-white colour some of them come in. They’re all the fun of lava lamps with none of the heating elements- that’s it it’s a cold-water only water cooler. They’re a symbol of community, it’s like a beacon in a workplace if you don’t know where to linger. It’s like a safety net where your small talks allowed to be awkward. Water cooler talk is essential to a healthy workplace, whether there’s actually a water cooler or not! But they named it after water coolers! Haha I’m actually awful at water cooler talk, I’m always too busy actually looking at the water cooler, I get distracted so easily. There’s no innovation to be had, no improvements to be made! Water coolers are perfect.

I Lost My Long Term Girlfriend A Long Long Time Ago But I Still Can’t Stop Thinking About Her. I’ve Missed Her So Much More Recently And I Can’t Stop Thinking About Her. I Miss Her So So Much. I’d Do Anything Just To Spend Time With Her Again.

Saw An Older Water Cooler Model At The Opticians Today. She Made A Loud Clanking Noise Every Time Her Internal Workings Would Gently Hum And Her Drip Tray Was Completely Covered In Chalk From Stale Water. She Wasn’t The Most Beautiful, And Her Manufacturer Wasn't At All Notable, But I Do Wish She Was Taken Better Care Of.

Her Cup Dispenser Was Completely Out Of Cups And There Wasn't A Single Bin In The Waiting Room To Dispose Cups In If There Ever Were Any.

It's As If She Was Simply Decoration, Part Of The Furniture. A Thin Layer Of Dust Was Collecting On Top Of Her Body, Stains From Spilt Water Covered Her Front, And The Stickers On Her Side Didn't Look Like They'd Ever Been Touched. Detailing What Counted As Worth Calling Maintenance For And The Charges Which Could Be Incurred If They Found It Not A Good Enough Reason To Call.

I Liked Sitting With Her Though, Slightly Pressed Against Her And Listening To That Low, Monotonous, Clanking Hum. I Regret Not Cleaning Her With A Damp Tissue Or Giving Her A Reassuring Pat.
