Hiiiii I love your art and your au if you're still taking questions do Sephiroth and Angeal have any scars from their deaths?

Yes, they do have scars :)) !! (Now you win art of them shirtless bc most of them are on the torso lol, was very shy while drawing them)

So I think out of all AGS, Angeal is the one with the most scars. We don't really know what caused him to die in particular, so I prefer to think it was just a combination of several bad wounds during the fight that led to his death. Also a plus for the back scar where his wings were!

On the other hand, I think Sephiroth just has the one scar Cloud gave him back in Nibelheim. It goes all the way around his waist and lower stomach, since Cloud basically almost um... severed his whole torso? (Whoops) The Buster sword is pretty wide to be fair.

So... Genesis, in my AGS raises the baby remnants au (I really need to come up with a shorter name), was never taken back like it happened in Crisis Core! He has just been chilling in Banora for a while, now that he was mostly cured of degradation! He managed to access some money he had saved and paid to get a house built in Banora. He is a bit of a hermit now but he is way too focused on studying the goddess further and just overall connecting more to the planet and the lifestream. He has also written some planetology books under an alias!

I'm forever obsessed with Jane and Dirk's friendship. If they were in any other media they'd hate each other or at least have a lot of conflict with each other directly but in reality it's like. They just casually care for each other a lot! Dirk doesn't really put Jane up on a pedestal like he does with Jake and Roxy. Jane knows when Dirk is being full of bullshit. They talked to each other honestly while waiting to die about all the ways they went wrong. Out of the alpha kids they're probably the ones with the most realistic understanding of each other. Dirk wrote Jane Detective Pony. Jane read it.

how does Sephiroth take care of the babies? Is the shed near a town to get supplies or is he homebrewing everything somehow?

The shed Sephiroth is staying in is south of Nibelheim, a bit far and close to the mountains. The cave at the beginning is close to where Lucrecia is actually!

Sephiroth never goes to Nibelheim, he stays around that area. I imagine there might be farms nearby, maybe small shops for travelers? very few though. Sephiroth has to take stuff from there. Most clothes won't fit him because he's pretty big, so he uses some sheets and other stuff he finds in clothing lines.

The most difficult thing is feeding the babies, so he takes a few risks to get some formula for them. He can provide well enough for himself as long as he finds things to forage and maybe some animals to hunt. There is also a river close to the shed where Sephiroth can get water that he later boils.

Though it is known that in high-stress situations Sephiroth often forgets to take care of himself, so he is not eating that well during this period. The whole situation is very disorienting and he has never taken care of children before, let alone three. He tries his best but sometimes it's difficult. Since the children are so small also, Sephiroth is afraid to take them with him when he goes out, but he is also afraid to leave them alone for too long. He is very limited in that aspect.

And another thing to make matters worse. Sephiroth sometimes gets some really debilitating headaches that often times come with flashbacks or strange hallucinations (Cloud style). And even worse, the children also are incredibly distressed during these episodes... as if something was causing them.

Angeal's back alive! or does he not die at all in your AU?

Angeal is back!

His death happens the same way as it did in Crisis Core! But, surprise, Zack doesn't die at the end! (I imagine Zack's life is just my friend @wowa-bublord's Zack lives au lol)

But since Zack doesn't die, when Angeal comes down from the sky to take him with him, he doesn't have anyone to take. So the lifestream kinda... resets the task and Angeal just stumbles into the ground suddenly back. (This may seem like a lifestream glitch lol, but this happens at the same time as Sephiroth comes back along with Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo. So the lifestream just gave Angeal another... more ambiguous task)

Angeal sees Zack in the distance and despite wanting to, he decides to not interact, at all actually. He takes a role similar to "guardian angel" for a bit, watching from afar and making sure Zack is safe. He probably stays in Midgar for a month? Trying to blend in the background and making sure Zack is settled. Once he figures that Zack is okay, Angeal leaves. He wants Zack to have a better life and he feels like he would ruin that, he has hurt Zack enough.

After that Angeal heads to Banora, mainly for nostalgia's sake. He meets Genesis again there :)

What leads AGS into finding each other again? They seem split up all over the globe LOL

This will be a bit of a long answer, but also there is more art under this!

So, Angeal and Genesis are the first to reunite. It was a very emotional meeting, they really thought they would never see each other again. They reunite in their hometown, Banora, when Angeal travels back there (though not much of a town anymore). Angeal stays at Genesis' house, they catch up, talk about their feelings. All the things that are going through their minds, be it degradation, regrets, etc.

They kinda naturally gravitate towards each other, they have been a part of each other's lives for so long so it's kinda natural they would feel comfortable even after such a long time. Besides now with the degradation dormant, they can actually think and act more clearly and just be more sincere.

Angeal tries to keep his distance at first (Honor and blah blah). He sleeps on the couch for like two days until Genesis annoys him into just sharing a bed. "We have shared beds since we were kids, don't be stupid".

Genesis talks to Angeal about what he has been up to for the past five years, studying the lifestream, the goddess, and the planet. He tells Angeal that something strange has been going on, and weirdly Angeal tells him that he feels it too. At one point this feeling gets the better of them and they decide to investigate, they leave Banora after a few weeks after meeting again.

And that's what leads them to Sephiroth.

Out of all things, they didn't expect to find Sephiroth, who at this point has been living south of Nibelheim for a bit over two months. But after a few weeks of traveling, they find Sephiroth having a really strong migraine on the side of the river, this particular episode being so strong that it made him physically crumble. The moment Genesis and Angeal see him they know that this was what the lifestream was trying to tell them.

On first instinct, they run up to help Sephiroth. Sephiroth is completely disoriented, most probably thinking that the friends he is seeing are just some strange hallucinations. One thing is for sure, he is desperate to get back to the shed. He knows that these extreme migraines somehow affect the children and he wants to get back to them at all cost.

He mumbles some things to Angeal and Genesis and not knowing what to do, they both just follow his directions and help him walk back all the way to the shed. The moment they get close enough to hear the babies' cries Sephiroth just barges in to comfort them, leaving the other two stunned at the door. These children are the only thing that Sephiroth has, and he is determined to care for them.

Angeal and Genesis are too shocked to see the image of Sephiroth holding three babies close to his chest. They just think they are some random children at first, but when they see the hair and the eyes, they just know there is something else.

So, between Sephiroth and Genesis, things are a bit complicated at the beginning.

Genesis truly wants to apologize to Sephiroth, he feels regretful about his actions and he wishes to repair their relationship. But even if Genesis is much more stable than he was back in crisis core, he is in an unexpected situation. After five years he had somehow made peace with the fact that his friends were gone and just accepted that he would have to live with what he did to them. But now the opportunity to apologize arises and after everything that happened between him and Sephiroth, he just can't find the right words. It feels like just saying "I'm sorry" would mean nothing because of the gravity of their previous situation, so he just tries other means to let Sephiroth know how he feels.

Other means that don't really work.

Sephiroth, obviously so, is reluctant at first. He doesn't actually hate Genesis, but he definitely feels hurt by him. So he mostly rejects Genesis' attempts to fix things or help (This extends to taking care of the babies as well). Ironically, opposite to what Genesis is trying to do, an honest and sincere "I'm sorry" would actually work much better in this situation, making everyone's feelings clearer without so many ornamental words or actions. At least from Sephiroth's point of view. Knowing that Genesis truly means it and that he won't abandon or hurt him like that again would ease a lot of his fears.

Of course, this is mostly throughout the first few weeks they spend together after reuniting and Angeal and Genesis taking Sephiroth back to Banora with them. As time passes their relationships develop further.

In my au, Even with Sephiroth gone and Genesis being the face of ShinRa, Genesis still compares himself to his memory. (it's never been about how the public perceives genesis or whether he's factually the best, his downward spiral is started because Genesis doesn't see himself as good enough, and by extension views Sephiroth as a version of himself worthy of love.). Sephiroth exists in this world as a perfect figure who descends from the sky surrounded by doves and mysteriously disappeared into the wind one night LOL, Genesis in the end is still Just Second Best, even in first place. Hojo indulges in this insecurity to the worst degree, offering him experimental procedures to make him the perfect version of himself he wants to be. (He lost his perfect specimen, so he may as well make due with the hollanders scraps..) It will never be enough. The version of Sephiroth he compares himself to has never existed. Zack doesn't change very much though

genesis is going to be a part of my Sephiroth Gainsborough au! With sephiroth MIA, when genesis joins SOLDIER he quickly rises to the top. Surely this is a good thing and results in a happy ending for him because his insecurities are DEFINITELY based purely on how other people view him and not at all because he projects his self hate onto others. definitely.
