alphonse mucha paraphrase
mucha’s is partially about cultural pride, which i found to be fitting for rin. rin had to represent a culture she never knew, she never had any connections to speer outside of what altan told her, what she was showed through the phoenix, and through text books (which were horrendously racist for sure), which gave her a very limited understanding of speer and speerly culture. yet, despite not knowing speerly culture, she became its face. so in my paraphrase she’s wearing a hanfu (traditional chinese clothing = nikara) instead of the clothing that tearza is wearing in the background (inspired by traditional taiwanese clothing = speerly) to simply show her discontent from the culture she’s supposed to represent. this is also why the necklace she is wearing is breaking.

"Me when I lie" is such a funny pseudo-diplomatic response to anything. Like just going "see I'm not saying that you would ever lie, but I tend to be a liar, and that would be the exact kind of thing that would come out of my mouth when I'm lying" sounds like the exact kind of quip that someone who was just described as 'too clever for their own good' would get stabbed over.
