Okay. It indeed gratifying to see Carly’s feelings addressed in iCarly revival, but I also wanna praise the show for clarifying that Freddie didn’t become Carly’s friend solely because of his feelings for her.
I’m guilty for accusing this to Freddie in the past, so him outright saying it made him feel so angry that he was always disappointed when Carly didn’t like him back is gratifying. Also, Nathan Kress’ delivery was really good. Some of the lines in the ep were high school-y but the way he delivered really made up for them.

i’m just saying, creddie is probably the best written and executed ship in the entire nickelodeon universe. from the very introduction of the character, it was obvious that freddie had strong feelings for carly and he even mentioned the classic “i’ll wait for you” trope.
but the trope was never played out in the usual weird, possessive toxic way. we watched freddie’s feelings evolve on screen from fascination and idolization to mutual respect and adoration of carly. they really grew an actual substantial bond.
freddie never acted as though he was owed anything romantic from carly. (“being your friend was never a  consolation prize.”) he himself dated multiple people throughout their storyline- including sam, whom his feelings were fully genuine and not a projection of wanting carly- like most shows pull off with their intended endgames. carly dated multiple people and freddie never tried to get in the way, outside of wanting her to be in healthy relationships.
carly’s feelings have always been given room to grow on their own. when freddie even suspected they may have been influenced by any other source, he told her that’s not how he wanted this to go and ended things to let her figure herself and her feelings out.
this might be nonsensical word vomit but like this ships development is 10/10 and i don’t care if people prefer freddie/sam like creddie was always, always endgame.
