The conversation he was having the the Pokemart employee was turning out to be surprisingly enjoyable. Emile couldn’t really remember how it started, but it ended up with him knowing a little more about caring for a Shinx, as well as the name of this employee: Matthew. 

When it was finally time for him to leave, Emile had to say, he was a tad disappointed; Matthew had been a good conversation partner. After he said his goodbyes, he’d boldly taken Matthew’s hand, pressing a kiss to his fingers, before walking out the door with a barely visible smirk on his lips.

... Yeah, he didn’t know why he did it, but hey. He didn’t regret it either.

Emile walked over to the man, offering his hand to help him back up. Behind him, Queen, his Seviper hissed and coiled up- it had been Queen’s tail that the stranger had tripped over. With the amused-looking expression on Queen’s face, it may not have been accidental after all. A Seviper’s idea of a prank, maybe?

Emile knew he was not as... physically capable as an average human being. His time spent indoors made his muscles weak, and no doubt he would not be in good shape had he not gotten ‘exercise’ through caring for his Pokemon.

He wasn’t surprised that he tripped and fell over nothing in particular, but the stinging gash on his arm as something scratched him. It wasn’t deep, and Emile would have bandaged himself up had Draze not insisted to do it. 

“Really, I can do it myself,” Emile protested. But he was forced to just sit back as Draze treated him.

Someone was lingering outside the gym.

While it was fairly common for trainers to stop by, Emile could think of none who had stood outside for so long. Even the gym trainers were getting a little nervous, glancing outside and whispering amongst themselves. With a sigh, Emile rose, walking outside to see what this was all about. 

But upon opening the door, he found himself face-to-face with someone who looked just a little familiar. Emile couldn’t quite put his finger on where. “Yes, I am the gym leader here,” he replied, studying the man with narrowed eyes. “Emile Colbert. Is there something you need? You’ve been out here for quite a while.”

 Syenite Port wasn’t a city Freyr visited often due to work. But this time, he was visiting the port city accompanied by his Houndoom, Efreet, to finally see what the port was about. It was definitely smaller than Norite, the bustling city he grew up in but, there was something serine it. Unfortunately, the only place he remembered clearly was the location of the gym where he had battled when he was still collecting badges all those years ago.

 It must seem strange for a trainer to just stand at the entrance of the gym and not enter it in the eyes of the citizens, but that’s exactly what Freyr was doing. He had no idea where to start first on his little trip when suddenly the gym doors opened and a man stepped out. Instead of moving aside, lavender eyes stared curiously at the stranger, trying to identify him.

 “Are you perhaps the Gym Leader of this city?”
