You guys know that thing about walruses and fairies? I think.. part of why walruses are more surprising is because we think we know walruses.
Faries are an entirely unexplored area and we kind of accept that we don't know everything. Whereas walruses are things we THINK we already know everything about.
It's like.. information inertia. Because we have more info about walruses it takes us longer to change our accepted knowledge of it.
