However, because Gummigoo has been outside the map and become self-aware, the game interprets him as a player character and grants him abilities not normally available to NPC's. When he reincarnates in Candy Canyon Kingdom after getting poofed, he retains his memory and his presence there reactivates the area.

Gummigoo helps Princess Loolilalu defeat The Fudge, and they sign a treaty ensuring the equitable sharing of maple syrup between their societies. Gummigoo eventually manages to convince Loolilalu that Caine is not a god, but a malevolent entity determined to torment NPC's. A new religion forms around worship of Pomni, the player character who showed kindness to an NPC in his darkest moment.
