I accidentally wrote an essay for you to get my thoughts across so!! Please accept this collapse of my brain!
Naruto plot bunny head-canon combo that I needed to share with someone who also likes Naruto:
So we all know Naruto gestated practically sharing a womb with Kurama, yes? Well what if being that intertwined with Kurama’s nature chakra didn’t just give Naruto the whiskers, but also changed his brain just enough for his natural behaviors and mannerisms to be a little more canid; ie tilts his head when he’s confused, licking the air to catch scents, displays submission-type motions (exposing throat, whining etc) when disciplined or stressed, rubbing against people to show affection.
Now what if. He’s grown up with all these feelings, doing all these things, but never once had someone who understood the way he speaks (body language) or let him get close to them. Then he gets assigned to Team 7 and goes to the roof to wait for their new sensei and he’s just so excited that when Kakashi asks for his intro he just can’t stop himself from flinging forward and rubbing their cheeks together, hard.
It takes him a sec but once he realizes what he’s done he flinches back, face pale. He watches as Kakashi goes still, eyes a little wide and then— Kakashi leans forward and rubs back.
Little does Naruto know that the Hatake clan are also a little more canid than normal, and emote naturally in the same ways he does. Kakashi and his father used to speak to each other like that, though its been years.
Naruto freezes for a moment, cheek pressed tight to Kakashi’s, before just melting where he stands, fingers twisted tight into the fabric bunched at his sensei’s knee. He rubs his cheek back and forth a bit with a misty eyed grin, the warmth in his face spreading and settling into his chest.
When he pulls back, Sakura and Sasuke are both looking at him like he’s lost his mind, but Kakashi’s face is just a little bit softer than before, as if the contact had unwound something in him as well.
From there anytime Naruto speaks in the language most natural to him, Kakashi responds in kind; a hand carded through blond hair for comfort, a body standing strong for small limbs to lean against when excited or distressed, a teacher to explain and translate the parts of him that other people don’t understand.
As the relationship between all the genin and sensei grows, Naruto looks to Kakashi more and more as an alpha/guardian of sorts and instinctually responds in much the same way a pup would respond to their dam or sire. Demanding Kakashi’s approval and affection, pushing boundaries to see what can be got away with.
They eventually get to a place where, on the rare occasions Kakashi is found somewhere napping, Naruto is there napping too, curled into his senseis shadow.
There no real Plot exactly but I have a lot of feelings about canid!Naruto and the relationship between Naruto and Kakashi. They both deserve that missed family bond!!

I was reading Kurama's Trivia section on the Wiki and I find out this:
In the manga pilot, Kurama was actually Naruto's father, who attacked the village of Mt. Oinari and required nine shinobi to defeat him. Hiruzen was the only survivor and had taken pity on Naruto, who had taken human form, and allowed him to live in the village.
And now I wish for an AU with this concept
What I wouldn't give for a Naruto where Kishimoto stuck to what was obviously his first idea that the tailed beasts were actual demons

Anyway is christmas eve and im drunk and tired and thinking about a blind ichigo au
Like hes been blind for as long as he can remember and has largely navigated the world through his sense of reiatsu and while not perfect and complete solution by any means he can get around fine. The other students think its a little uncanny that he can always recognize whos approaching him, can tell who is or isnt in class today, but theyve also seen him training with Tatsuki, and hes friends with Sado whos grandmother is also blind, so its not like. THAT weird?
And its honestly a boon when hes a subshinigami, because consciously or not hollows and shinigami both use their reiatsu to bolster their bodies as they move and strike, to give them speed and strength, and by refining his reiatsu sense ichigo knows where an attack is going to be before the motion even really begins. Which isnt perfect either: he actually fights kenpachi better after kenpachi removes the eyepatch, because with the eyepatch on kenpachi earned all of his strength and speed the proper way, through training and training and physical training.
And byakuya is more than a little overwhelming, because when he releases his shikai he’s everywhere, all at once, and tracking each and every petal of reiatsu is next to impossible
But then Aizen is dead and Ichigo is perfectly, normally human again, and the world is big and unknown and scary, compounded on top of his ptsd from the winter war, and it just. Sucks big time.
And after about a month of too little sleep and falling behind in school and flinching every time one of his sisters so much as accidentally brush up against him, ichigo is home alone because he cant force himself to go to school where there are people and obstacles and his exfriends and an ocean of pity, and theres a knock on the door.
Kisuke sweeps his way into the kurosaki house with all his usual arrogant confidence, and ichigo is annoyed, of course he is, its been a month of no contact. But hes also comfortable, with kisuke nearby, relaxing by inches, and he cant figure out why until hes sitting at the kitchen table with the lunch kisuke brought
Because kisuke is chattering mindlessly, like he always does, but now it always gives ichigo a sense of where kisuke is. And ichigo knows this space, he can navigate it fine, so kisuke doesnt bother guiding him there. But when the food is plated and their at the table, kisuke’s touch is a gentle guide on his wrist: here is his plate, his chopsticks, his drink. But it doesnt feel like pity, it just feels. Natural. Like this is what ichigo needs, and kisuke would be an asshole if he didnt do these things
And before Kisuke leaves, he wrapps ichigos fingers around the curved handle of a cane, and. Its not a guide cane, but its more than even isshin has offered him, and ichigo feels his breath all caught up in his chest, tangled up with the gratefulness that he cant choke out.
(He assumes its just a replica, because the alternative is too crazy for ichigo to even comprehend. But then he has his powers back and he can feel Benihime beneath his hand, all of Kisukes carefully-cultivated bloodlust, and, a Zanpakuto is the extension of the soul, Kisuke has to be fucking insane)

Definitely dont think about kisuke losing his goddamn little mind becaise ichigo is out there, powerless and vulnerable,and the stress is part guilt part… attachment
And he comes to ichigo with the intent to give him lunch and a guide cane. Its very modern. Foldable. Ichigo could probably beat a hollow to death with it, if it came to that, with the amount of augments and enhancements kisuke made to it.
But instead kisuke finds himself wrapping ichigos fingers around his cane, his Zanpakuto. Its already in motion, and he cant find an elegant way of walking this back, and he finds that he doesnt want to.
And never think about the guilty satisfaction kisuke takes in knowing ichigo is carrying around a piece of his soul, arguably his better half. Because this is his fault, and hes fixing it, and that should feel guitily good enough in its own right, but
dont think about why else he would be pleased and smug

So there's this thing called Swayamvaram in Indian history; a princess or a lady of high nobility reaches the age of marriage, herself or her father or mother decides to hold a swayamvaram, a gathering of suitors, who have to prove themselves worthy of her hand. Either by winning a competition, let's say archery or sword fighting, or bringing evidence or their heroic or noble deeds.
Now imagine a world where the Uzumaki annihilation did not happen, neither Senju Nawaki nor Kato Dan die, where the Sannin stay together and Orochimaru became Yondaime and all is as well as it can be in a militaristic society. When Konoha is certainly not done lording it over the other villages that somehow Namikaze Minato Malewifed himself into marrying an Uzumaki princess, Uzushio announce a tournament for suitors desiring the hand of the young Prince of Whirlpools, the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi no Kitsune, Uzumaki Naruto.
Guarantee the elemental nations go crazy! The clans are going crazy! The Uchiha in particular are going insaaaaaayyyyne cos this is their one chance to get even with the Senju after all this time! The villages not only want to have an Uzumaki bloodline but also shut Konoha up about their Two Uzumaki marriages!
Fugaku to his sons: I don't care what you do, manipulate, mansplain, malewife, MANSLAUGHTER... get your Uchiha arses hitched you hear me!
Mikoto: I won't force you into anything.... But please do remember that thisisyourdearmothersonechancetoberelatedtothelovelyprincessUzumakiKushinadontruinthisforme-

Of course a lot of the suitors are reluctant but then they see Naruto and all objections fly out the window as they become besotted
Meanwhile the Uzumaki watching the chaos unfold: ugh does our prince really have to marry down into those losers?
The Uzukage watching the chaos: good... It was getting a bit chummy around here...
Uzushio just dangling Naruto in front of the other villages to see who tries to bite and thinking it's hilarious because yes Naruto is the most bait like Uzumaki to be born in a number of generations but he's also Naruto so like those fuckers have no idea what they're in for
