Redundant statements are also something I keep seeing in more recent published works. They're very annoying to me. When looking at Nimh and North you get their political skills that they were forced to develop, but Nimh looks so much more advanced and so keen while North fumbles through almost every interaction and keeps repeating "this guy's watching me, judging me, I know SO much about political maneuvering. I have to be CAREFUL I can't let people know where I'm from!!" over and over. As if he's not dressed completely differently from everyone else because he refused to shower.

No one is discrediting the student protests. I myself am a student who is partaking in largely student-coordinated protests, drives, campaigns… but I also understand that we are largely missing the point if coverage of these protests overshadows what they are actually protesting for—the atrocities committed on Palestinians every single day. As the western buzz around this genocide gets more and more coverage, the coverage of the genocide itself sharply declines. It’s true and I see it every single day. Things are not being reported with the precision and diligence with which they should be.

What is the highest number of notes on a post you have made? What's your most "successful" post?

A lot of authors don't know restraint. I feel like that's the problem. Style over substance. They indulge and indulge and indulge every last one of their desires but they dont know or don't care enough to map those little sparks of joy onto something that actually has weight behind it. The truly careless have a list of tropes they enjoy that they go through like a shopping list, and it's clear they're not interested in telling a well crafted story.

You find it in some TV and movies too. Creators who just go with the first thing they come up with or make their heroes so overpowered they need to make the power system convoluted in order to compensate. They don't say "yeah, this is a good idea, but how does it affect everything about this character and story last present and future?"

So with the book authors they put forward an unrestrained unrefined product and get surprised when people hate it, because they forgot that just because they had fun writing it doesn't mean others will have fun reading it. And they think the sugar and glitter of a handful of popular tropes can replace a real meal.

Dual-PoV books can be so difficult to enjoy because thus far, every time, I get exactly two voices: an author who's interested in writing and an author who's fighting back inserting every meme they know into their PoV.

i have been in touch with students (who wish to remain anonymous for their own safety) and following others participating in the encampment and your support at this moment is absolutely crucial if you can spare it.

**i’ve seen various mentions of the national guard being dispatched but as of several hours ago ny governor kathy hochul said she had no plans to allow for it. this, however, does not keep the encampment safe from violence at the hands of the NYPD.
