Short Animation Trailer
This was a project to demonstrate a selection of skills and abilities developed throughout the first year of my UAL Level 3 Diploma.
This is short trailer about two dancers. One is a rich ballet dancer and the other a poor street dancer (each equally as good). The rich dancer pretends to live a happy life but feels lonely. The poor dancer is trying to make a living but doesn't seem to be surviving well. These dancers’ cross paths and after a lot of trouble they become friends. This story challenges the social class system and stereotyping.
The software I used to create the final trailer: Adobe (Character Animator, Animate, Illustrator, Photoshop, After effects and Premier Pro).

Stop-Motion Project
This project was part of the first year UAL Level 3 Diploma. The aim was to create an animation based on a theme of British Values. I selected Individual Liberty as my theme, to create an animation communicating Freedom of Speech.
The story was based around a brother (Dante) and his sister (Amelia). Dante was a confident character, and his sister Amelia was a shy character, they met with a mystical creature called The Dodo who was seeking help to find a shadow sailor that had escaped the realm. Dodo, Dante, and Amelia searched for the shadow at a fun fair. Amelia being shy, had an idea but initially kept this to herself out of fear of being wrong. However, towards the end of the animation, she shares her idea regardless of being wrong and rebutted. Thankfully, her idea proved to work out as they were able to find and capture the shadow.
For this animation I didn’t use the typical clay modelling technique. I experimented with different materials to create the models, ranging from knitting wool for the bird character to rubber bands for the human faces.

Character Design
I begin the character design process by freehand drawings, to allow me to gather all my ideas and thoughts on to paper. Combining inspiration from popular animation styles and my imagination I drew simple but unique characters, then proceed into digitalising the characters in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
I enjoy doodling characters, environments and objects in my spare time.

Observational Environment
The theme park piece was produced as part of the stop-motion animation project. I used an image from my trip to a theme park as inspiration for this environment. I drew the image on paper and then digitalised it in Adobe Photoshop. This is where I began practicing professional environment design on the college course. I used the image to find my own style of illustrating. As I progressed through the course, I became more confident with observational environment design. I was particularly fascinated by the idea of a ‘Mammal metropolis’. Using an image I took of the Piccadilly Circus digital billboard, I created my own mammal metropolis for my animation.

Psychoanalysis Magazine
The project aim was to write, design and illustrate a magazine double spread cover and page with an article on ‘The interpretation of Dreams’. During the project I used techniques, such as using wireframe to plan layouts, sketching initial designs and concepts. The challenge in this project was completing the full magazine in 1 month, with the right planning and workflow I met the deadline. Along the way I encountered some difficulties with InDesign as I was unfamiliar with the software at the time. After watching You Tube tutorials to self-teach, I became more proficient in the software and completed my project.

3D Animation
This was a personal exercise conducted in Autodesk Maya as part of an experiment for a college project. This was the first time I had encountered this software. I taught myself the basic principles of modelling in Autodesk Maya. However, the process of rigging the character proved to be time-consuming. Therefore, I found an online program (Adobe Maximo) to speed up my workflow and maximise my time.

Photography
During the first year on the UAL Level 3 Diploma, I conducted a photography project. The purpose of this project was to use technical skills, imagination, and composition/framing to produce a series of photos for specific genres. After researching the different genres for photography shot, I was fascinated by how food objects, reflective technique, abstract style and fashion could be so creative depending on the end goal the photographer wants the audience to take away from the picture in terms of attractiveness and the messaging.

Children's Book
This is an ongoing project that I am currently working on. The brief is to create a children’s book related to the topic of Dreams. The story of my book is based around a Griffin (a mystical creature which is a combination of an eagle and lion) who enters a Dreamland. As part of development, I researched into illustrators such as Andy Gellenberg, Nikki Farquharson, Sara Fanelli. I adapted these artists’ style into my own characters. I used mediums such as, oil pastels for the Sara Fanelli experiments to create an unusual appearance. The Andy Gellenberg piece is the most unique experiment on the page because of the unconventional structure of the character.

Corporate Branding
I started corporate branding projects as part of my graphic design business (AnR Graphic Designs).
Chagos Bar
The clients came to me with a brief to create a logo for their business including a turtle because it is an important part of their country. Additionally, they wanted to have colours associated with their country and portray a ‘tropical paradise’. Therefore, I thoughtful selected orange for the sun, green representing the mountains and blue reflecting the ocean.
Saveur Tropicale
The brief for this project was to create a logo for a restaurant serving Mauritian cuisine. The process of creating the final logo began with different digital concepts. After presenting these concepts to the clients a key demand was to include a map in the logo. The list of elements to include continued to increase, such as, adding palm trees, country flags, a sun, and their sponsored partner (displayed inside the sun in the final logo). My initial thought was that these elements would make the logo over crowed. However, I used my creative judgement and imagination to meet their requirements to achieve a unique and uniformed logo.
