I had a coworker call me today and ask me for help on finding the PTO balance for one of his employees. The employee’s last name was Noble and he was trying to remember her first name (this work location tries to only refer to each other by last names for security reasons).
So I, of course, a Whovian, immediately asked: "First name Donna?"
Coworker: "..."
Me: "No, wait. That's a character!"
Coworker: *cackles*
Me: "Shut up!"
Coworker: "But I didn't say nothing!"
Me: "Your judgment did!"

i thought my laptop was on its last leg because it was running at six billion degrees and using 100% disk space at all times and then i turned off shadows and some other windows effects and it was immediately cured. i just did the same to my roommate's computer and its performance issues were also immediately cured. okay. i guess.
so i guess if you have creaky freezy windows 10/11 try searching "advanced system settings", go to performance settings, and uncheck "show shadows under windows" and anything else you don't want. hope that helps someone else.

Listen, Chuck is a fanfic writer who loves torturing his characters, all the hurt, and the comfort is an illusion. And just like all authors, the characters just ran roughshod over everything and kept trying to take over the narrative.
actually what really fucks me up is that if chuck is the writer and the winchesters are his favorite story, ie. the story that the universes he creates revolve around fulfilling, then castiel's part in the story was to raise dean. just that. chuck says every other version of cas continued to obey, and we know that cas was originally meant to be written out of the show (presumably killed?). so in chuck's version he was no longer relevant to the story.
so castiel as a character was both, meta-narratively and in-universe, created specifically for the purpose of raising dean winchester. he was always created *for* dean. he exists because of dean.

The Ghostfacers were right.
Do you ever think about how Supernatural is the story of how a capricious and cruel author/father/god, who imprisons and then permanently neutralises his feminine equal/sister and orchestrates everything in his little sandbox to watch brothers kill each other, has to burn down the multiverse to suppress the one thing he cannot control: the irrepressible queer love story of Cas and Dean?
I do. All the time.

Yes. YES.
I don't know anything about supernatural, but I think the funniest thing Neil Gaiman could do in Good Omens 3 is to let Misha Collins make an appearance as an angel there. Even just for a couple of seconds. It would close a circle that I can't quite explain.

Ok so I feel like many people on here have not read the Good Omens book. Please, it's a really good, very easy read. Take a few minutes here and there to take it in and you will absolutely fall in love (and have a better understanding of the material used to spring board into S2)!
Starting with:
Their bodies are called corporations and they use this to interact with humanity on Earth. They may present mostly as men but they are actually genderless. If they really wanted to be for real men, then they need to Make An Effort. Which at least at the time of the book's ending, neither angel nor demon had any interest in Making An Effort.
Crowley presents younger than Azira! Imagine a 2005 David Tennant playing Crowley with Michael Sheen's Azira still looking his delicious 54. I think the whole of Tumblr would still be trying to recover.
Crowley had black hair in the book! And he was much more snakey too. David Tennant doesn't walk the way he does just because. Snakes don't really have hips so Crowley has to work at the whole bipedal thing. And those snakeskin boots? Take a second look, cuz they get fleshier the longer you stare.
Azira in the book is shown to be even more of a bastard. He made mobsters disappear whenever they tried to threaten him to hand over his business!
The book helps the audience understand just how out of touch Crowley and Azira are from humanity. They enjoy their vices in the way that tourists will visit a Caribbean island, consume every touristy thing available, but not think twice about the islanders' everyday realities. For example, Crowley's car never has gas because he doesn't really understand how cars work. Both angel and demon will get in and out of drunkenness as it's convenient for them. Crowley doesn't eat. Ever. And he sleeps through bad/boring times. In the book he slept through thr 19th century. That's the 1800s! The Industrial Revolution just tossed aside without a care. And if you didn't catch it in the show, they were not thinking of humanity when they agreed to help each other out. Azira was actively tempting. Crowley was actively performing miracles. They had a quota to fill and whoever was closest to the assignment took over for the other. Also the book had a lot of instances where humans/animals were (comical) collateral damage to their shenanigans. The closest to something similar I saw in the show was in S2 with Nina and Maggie getting stuck in the coffeeshop because Crowley threw a temper tantrum.
Book Crowley was loved in hell! Crowley took responsibility for a lot of humanity's own short comings and got commendation after commendation for it.
Book The Them did a much better job of visually linking themselves to the Four Horsepeople of the Apocalypse. For example, book Pepper was a redhead with something to prove to show that she would become War under Adam's Apocalypse. The show could have done a better job at this. (Take a second and imagine Tati Gabrielle as War to better align with the show's Pepper. That would have been amazing).
Can anyone else think of anything that's in the book but not the show? Or maybe something that's in the show but not well explained?

I had this long ass rant about why comments like these are wrong, but then I remembered that most people don't know about Making An Effort, because that part hasn't been adapted to TV.
Crowley and Aziraphale are not gay because they're not men. They can choose to become men if the Make An Effort. Which, in 6000 years neither angel nor demon have felt an inclination towards doing so.
If we were debating the contents of the book I would 100% be savagely defending these characters, telling everyone and their mother to stop sexualizing these two sexless genderless non-human beings.
But this not the 1990 book (and dear lord I think we would all be collectively losing our minds right now if we lived in a world where David Tennant was visibly younger than Michael Sheen and they still played their roles in this show).
We're talking about the 2023 tv adaptation.
And this is the problem with trying to adapt the superhuman concepts that we create in our arts: the only beings we have that we can use in live action adaptations are regular ol' humans. And we humans will bring our humanness into everything we do.
With that being said: the character Crowley was NOT created with David Tennant in mind. The character Aziraphale was NOT created with Michael Sheen in mind. However, it is absolutely Neil Gaiman's fault for recruiting two powerhouse actors that somehow manage to ooze sexuality out of their pores every time a camera gets in front of them, to play the genderless sexless non-humans.
We can all collectively pick up on the hormones those two are putting down, even from the other side of a screen.
Their kiss at that particular moment did not come off as sexual AT ALL. But Neil, David Tennant's 2023 Crowley and Michael Sheen's 2023 Aziraphale are totally gay for each other.
Let's just accept it and move on.
“why did you see it as sexual?” i keep thinking about this. the kiss is romantic but its not sexual. like you make the gay angel and the gay demon kiss but they cant be gay men, of course not, that would be gross. theyre actually celestial genderless ken dolls. i wont continue
