for the moon
Tonight i asked the moon
why i can still see him when the sun rises
and he tells me how
he’s in love with her
but he can’t love her up close without
literally
ending the world,
So he loves her from afar.
I sat in my room and felt such sorrow for him
What kind of cruel joke is that?
But it made me realize how lucky I am.
The moon isn’t selfish, it stays in its place
watches the love of his life
for his entire life.
I don’t have to do the same
I’m going to love you up close
not just for me
but for the moon, too.
