So it's almost May
So it’s almost May
So it’s almost May and I haven’t even come close to racing in basically 6 months. It’s not for a lack of training – will get to that in a minute – as much as I’m really sticking to keeping 2015 a year of quality running and training.
Currently on the schedule is the 2015 LLS Big Peach 5K. I had to skip this race last year as I had a training run which conflicted. I’m also contemplating – meaning…

2015 starting out on the right foot..or maybe it's my left foot
2015 has gotten off to great start.  My training is remaining steady but I have no races on the schedule in the next 2 months so I’m not pushing too hard.  I’ve also stayed fairly consistent with my spin classes at Flywheel where I believe in 2014 I visited 7 locations around the country: 2 Atlanta, 2 Dallas, Seattle, Charlotte and LA.  I’ve also gotten back on the Pilates bandwagon which is…

Closing out 2014
2012 = Year of Quantity (wow, I did a lot of races)
2013 = Year of Injury (I/T Band in January and L4/L5 Surgery in July)
2014 = Year of Quality (less races but more satisfying runs)
2015 = hmmmm
I’ve posted 5-6 races on my 2015 race schedule but who knows?  After running MCM (more on that in a second), I honestly felt content.  I did the Dopey Challenge as a way of challenging myself…

A snowy ascent up Grays Peak today...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The trail on up to Grays was still pretty snowy, even down low at 10,500-11,000’ at the TH. I couldn’t even see where the trail was in the beginning and missed it. Definitely one of the harder summits I’ve tried because of the conditions. My first 14er was Grays a few years ago, and it was a cake walk with no snow. I decided it was best to skip Torreys since it was warming up pretty fast and could have been sketchy on the way down from the looks of it. Not many people strictly on foot were going up it today. My descent was a bit sloppy, but had fun sliding down the mountain on my feet (and butt). Thinking I may need to go see what shape Bierstadt is in next week.

Oregon Coast Trail
Lake Marie is a perfect 1 mile loop, and still fun after 6 times around.
