In modern silent comedy history books you'll never find the truth about Al St. John. This is only one example. If you dig into period material, this is what you'll find: Al St. John, one of the most successful and popular comedians of the era. There's a lot of cleaning up needed. Not only St. John's legacy have been ignored. We have a whole lot of performers who need to get their history corrected.
