Since the premiere of Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix, Jamie Campbell-Bower has been featured on all of my social media timelines. People are falling in love with him (or falling in love all over again), and it’s easy to see why. Here’s what I discovered in his natal chart.

Due to the fact that we don’t have his birth time, this reading is incomplete. If he was born early, he may have a Scorpio Sun. Everything described in this interpretation could also be altered by his Ascendant. This reading is also for entertainment purposes only, and focuses on his chart.

Personality

Jamie’s Sagittarius Sun is outgoing, passionate, and optimistic. He is the kind of individual who truly embodies their personal philosophy and lives according to his beliefs. His charisma and confidence are enhanced by the Sun-Mars trine in his chart. Jupiter’s opposition to his Sun in Sagittarius is one of his weaknesses, as he tends to go overboard. He occasionally overestimates his abilities and is overly enthusiastic, and then ends up making promises that he cannot keep. He loves to take big risks, which sometimes backfire. At times, he can also be arrogant.

His Sun is complemented by a Taurus Moon that is more grounded. His conscious and subconscious are completely different since Sagittarius and Taurus don’t have anything in common. Astro Observations of Outwardly Angry People: Aspects You Don’t Wanna Fuck W/

- Mars Square Pluto: anger can be explosive. Keeping it in is not good for them. They often absolutely NEED an outlet, like weight-training. Their anger can destroy everything. Anything is possible with their anger and their anger can help them achieve goals, run a thousand miles, PR at the gym, etc. It translates into an ebb and flow of physical vitality. Their energy can scare off/intimidate others. It can be mixed in with a sexual aggressive kind of energy and they may be seen as a dangerous sexual being by others and they are certainly not one to f**k with in bed, let me tell you because they can f**k your brains out if you provoke and when they show their true colors. If you ever wonder how they feel, they feel like a volcano, to be honest. Wow I’m roasting myself here

- Mars Square Neptune: their anger and resentment can build up over time and does have the potential to be explosive when they feel they have not been assertive enough; they have this internal struggle where they want to appear like someone not to f**k with to balance their apathy/lack of self-assertion they display at other times. I wouldn’t say that this is as dangerous at all as Mars Square Pluto, although these people are certainly capable of blowing up as well but in a far less destructive sense. Their anger is not really as long-lasting. Think of a far gentler volcano than Mars Square Pluto’s.

- Mars opposite Saturn: I would say that these people exude the type of anger that makes you want to respect them. That kind of anger that’s dignified and diplomatic if they have Libran placements in their chart as well. With Libran placements, they fight for what they believe in, and when what they believe in is challenged, they will erupt a little but to prove a point. They can hold onto anger for a while, though. They may feel like they’re not good enough and that they have to work harder.

- Mars opposite Jupiter: these people get angry when they see you as “in the way” of their goals. They can be really competitive and self-interested, making them appear impatient and even a bit of a bully if they ignore the needs and feelings of others and if this aspect is not controlled. They’re super direct which means their anger can be pretty direct, too, like a metaphorical slap in the face (at least that’s how I perceive it to be). Of course, put with Mars Square Pluto (me), I was the one that challenged their competitive spirit with the aim of trying to get them to consider the needs of others and mine as well and that certain things warrant cooperation rather than competition. Of course, as anticipated, I felt that I became just another one of their “obstacles”, and an annoying one at that.

Major aspects

The goal of studying astrology is to fully understand how the chart plays out on real life. Theory is useful in order to begin to see things through the lens of astrology but in order to understand how the chart is “lived” one has to observe people closely. This is a post on major aspects on how they show up in people. I have a post on minor aspects here.

Conjunctions (0° - 10° depending on the planets involved, the planets are sitting “next to each other in the chart) are “merged planets”.

The planetary energies are so close together that they’re acting as one unit. Multiple planets can be in conjunction which means that they become one. The native usually experiences the planets as inseparable, for better or for worse. The conjunction is often considered to be “a hard aspect” but it depends on the planets involved. Sun conjunct Moon is generally considered a positive thing because the person’s self-expression and emotional-instinctual nature are merged and don’t contradict each other. However, to have the core personality be merged with the emotions can also be very intense.

For example – a person with Venus conjunct Saturn would be cautious and defensive in love, not showing true feelings and blocking them from coming through. Expressing love would feel awkward, stupid and mechanical. Love would have to be developed slowly and steady. Social interaction could feel like work. On a more positive note, great self-control and masking of feelings could be beneficial in some situations – especially at work or in serious situations that require cold judgment.

Another example – a person with Sun conjunct Jupiter would be a person that has a jovial and fun-loving personality. There’s not much that keep these people stuck in a rut, they seek adventure and want to live life in a big way. Because of the optimism of Jupiter and the disregard for limits, this person would take chances and risks that no sane person would ever do.

Squares (90°) are forced and frustrated.

They are essentially forcing a relationship between two planets (energetic principals) that don’t have the same way of behaving and expressing. They are usually present in people who seem to contradict themselves a lot. They usually say things like “I’m not like that” when it’s obvious to people around them that they are. They can begin to doubt themselves and feel like they can’t get a grasp of their “true” selves. This causes discomfort and frustration to build.

For example – someone with Neptune in Scorpio square Venus in Aquarius will have a lot of strong and all-encompassing feelings that are intense. There are passionate feelings in this individual that are overflowing (Neptune in Scorpio) but they’re not well translated when expressing love and fondness. It doesn’t seem genuine because it’s forced and sometimes these passions are nowhere to be found – there’s only cool-headed conversation taking place (Venus in Aquarius).

Another example – someone with Jupiter in Gemini square Pluto in Virgo will have a lot to say, casually chatty and eager to talk to people, open minded and funny. Nothing is taken too seriously (Jupiter in Gemini) until the person begins to take serious offense for something that was said in good humor (Pluto in Virgo) – all of a sudden there are attempts to overpower the other person in the conversation, to force them to pay for or control their behavior, to “shut them down”. Later on, there’s little recollection of this behavior and a completely different planet that is activated.

I have found that it’s difficult to confront people with a lot of squares with certain behaviors because they have such different modes of being that they themselves have a hard time understanding. It’s not that these people are lying – it’s simply that from one planet’s perspective, the other one isn’t “right” or “true”. In other words, the planets disagree. When one is out, the other one is nowhere to be seen or hiding in the background waiting to come out.

Oppositions (180°) work similarly to squares in the sense that the planets don’t agree – they could be going in the same direction but have opposing ways of getting there.

There is usually more consciousness of the planets at either end of the spectrum then there is with the square. Sometimes the person is living out one side of the opposition and then another, although they represent completely different ways of being. “I’m like this at home and like this at work” is a common statement for people who have opposing planets in the 4th and 10th houses. Or “I’m like this in my neighborhood and like this when I’m out traveling” (opposition in the 3rd/9th houses). The trouble with oppositions is that it’s possible to live one and abandon the other/projecting it and attributing it to something “other” then the self.

For example – someone with Sun opposite Neptune might be prone to see how other people or external factors tend to lure the person away from the self with promises of glory and bliss that turns out to lead the person into unreality, into illusions of joy and happiness that ultimately ends up spiraling into addictive and destructive behavior.

Another example – someone with Sun opposite Jupiter might be prone to exaggerate and go overboard in attempts to get something out of life, to feel expansive and alive. Other people could be seen to hold the promise of greatness and the person might trust that everything is going to work out only to find that all the luck and rewards never really provided any real sense of optimism.

The thing to remember with oppositions is that the person has to live both planets but one won’t satisfy the other. The planets live different lives in the same person.

Trines (120°) are considered harmonious aspects. They don’t provide any friction, which can be either beneficial or detrimental depending on the planets involved.

The trines provide effortless flow – the planets aspecting each other approve of each other and work in a similar fashion. It’s easy to take the connection between the trining planets for granted because the connection feels like second nature. Because of the ease and flow, there’s a risk for laziness, of not being pushed to act out the planets. Squares demand some kind of release, which makes them very powerful – pressure is building and something has to give in. With trines the planets involved are positively boosting each other rather than forcing expression. They are powerful, but in a gentle way. They allow, rather than force.

For example – someone with Sun trine Saturn would find that working and pursuing worldly goals boost individuality, self-importance and pride. This is someone who would be comfortable with commitment and responsibility because there’s no sense of being pushed to work in a manner that is at odds with one’s self-expression.

Another example – someone with Venus trine Pluto would find that love is a passionate and powerful, but also of great consequence. There’s fear and risk involved but both planets support each other effortlessly simply by being true to their own mode of being. This is different from Venus square Pluto – there’s similarly great passion and power to these people’s love-nature but Venus loves in a way Pluto can’t assert its power in. It’s difficult to say which aspect could bring the most destruction in relationships. On the one hand, the trine provides no blockage for the energies; on the other the square is more forceful and frustrated. I would say that both bring destruction in different ways. A person with the trine aspect might not even notice it, it's so easy. A person with the square will notice it and be bothered by the feeling of it.

In people with the square you’re going to see “a switch” or “change of being”, a struggle taking place between two energy principals. In people with the trine, there is no struggle and no “switch”, the expression of love isn’t jerky or forced although it’s strong and forceful.

Sextiles (60°), like trines are considered harmonious aspects but they are a little bit more active.

The planets positively stimulate each other to activate, they “poke” each other a little bit – like they’re playfully teasing each other. When people feel like they “can’t help themselves” in a positive way, it’s usually a sextile that’s in the works. As stated with the trines, this can be beneficial or detrimental depending on the planets involved.

For example – someone with Saturn sextile Mars might be stimulated to concentrate more when taking action. Saturn could “poke” Mars to try a little bit more, to push a little bit further, to endure a little bit longer.

Another example – someone with Venus sextile Mars would be stimulated to go after the things that appeal to their taste. This is the aspect of “I just have to buy that thing I just spotted in the shop window” and “I just have to introduce myself to that good looking fellow”. These are silly examples, but you catch my drift.

Random astro observations 🌳 #10

!This is my own opinion based on my own experience so please don't take this personally, it's not meant to offend anybody!

Planets in the 4th house/conjuncting IC or South Node indicate homebody/always stay at home type of personality. These people don't have a problem to stay at home for a long time - they even enjoy it. The home is like a personal fortress to them and they feel the best when at home. Their friends might often say to them: "Get your introvered ass out of the house!" (*cough*my friends do it all the time*cough*). ->

If your born around midnight your Sun falls near your IC. I have my south node there and a big conjunction of personal planets as well and let me tell ya - that's the biggest indicator about introverted personality I can think of.

I feel like the hardest ascendant to have is Libra Asc ♎. Libra is the opposite sign of Aries. People with Aries rising have the perfect sign-house system, because the signs fall into their representative houses and the energy becomes even. But what happens when Libra, the opposite sign of Aries, falls into the 1st house - the perfect system is completely destroyed and the sign fall into the house of their opposite sign (Libra in the 1st house, but the 1st house is ruled by Aries, the opposite sign of Libra; Scorpio in the 2nd house, but the 2nd is ruled by Taurus, the opposite sign of Scorpio etc.). With Libra rising the whole energy of the chart is fucked up and that's why some people say a person with Libra Asc is often indecisive, not balanced, chaotic and so on. Well, that's because it's a constant struggle for the Libra Asc person to even out their energy. This is also the irony and the lesson of the Libra Asc - they need to fight for balance in their life, because they themselves represent balance, but struggle to achieve it.

Venus square Saturn just fucks up the person's relationship game. It's honestly so annoying. Also this placement prevents the one having it from doing hook ups - it's not their thing.

Moon in the 8th house have too much of emotional burden on their shoulders. They need to relax and stop trying to make others feel better when they can't even make themselves feel good. Find a suitable meditational music for your taste and start to practice meditation every day.

Moon in the 12th house makes the individuals so detached from society and reality to the extent that they will crave to find a job away from others. I imagine them like a writer in a cabin somewhere high in the mountain and not having anyone around. This writer will create fantasy based stories, representing their own bubble of imagination.

A person having Moon in the 9th house has a huge chance to become an immigrant or their ancestors may have been immigrants.

North node conjuncting the MC (Midheaven) is a really unpleasant position in my opinion, because their success will rely on the stability of their home and sometimes, this cannot be achieved. People with this placement have a really private sense of work. They don't like to be in the spotlight so they'll try to make achievements on their own and not with a team. They have a problem to present themselves into the social cycle.

Neptune conjuncting the IC is also a really unfavorable position. The person's desire to understand their family and to learn the lessons of their family karma is going to be hardly achieved. This person will crave the perfect home, but the family members may have issues with their mutual relationships, so the person will go away from them, because their worst nightmare is an unstable family foundation. So they crave for home and harmony in the family, but run away from it because of complications coming from the family itself.

Mercury conjuncting the IC or in the 4th house indicates the need of spouse, who can stimulate the person with this placement intellectually. The spouse should be at the same intellectual level as the Mercury person (similar to Venus in Aquarius). The family member should also be gifted with big brains for the Mercury person to feel comfortable with them.

Uranus in the 5th or the 11th house can make the individual appear bizarre when in any type of social places. In school people with this placement may have been perceived as outsiders, weirdos etc (*that was me until university*). Awkward when communicating, issues with finding friends - if you experience this you may have Uranus in these houses or harshly aspecting your personal planets.
