(Sidenote this is specifically about his character just wanted to make that extra clear)

Okay this kid's attention span is so fucking bad
He's in a middle of an angry rant and a fly passes by and he just slowly follows the fly around with his eyes and completely forgets what he's talking about
He speedruns conversation topics
He mentions one thing and jumps to another thing and jumps to another thing and he goes from talking about how his leg hurt to talking about the different fabrics that socks are made up of
It's exhausting having a conversation with him because he's bouncing off the fucking walls
I'd imagine he also Never Shuts Up
He's already extroverted but he really blabbers on to the people he loves most
He also constantly loses track of what he's talking about and goes on angry tangents and stops in the middle of them like "oh wait."
Tommy : FIFTEEN. FIFTEEN DIFFERENT FUCKING TYPES OF SALAMI! CAN YOU FUCKING BELIEVE THAT?
Wilbur : Tommy what does this have to do with your missing homework
Tommy : WE GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE
Wilbur and Tubbo's ears are destroyed from being talked off
He's also fucking LOUD
But not intentionally.
He's always scolded by Phil for "shouting" but he just Sounds like that and he can't Control it and he's always told to be Quiet
When he gets really excited he stims and just is overall hyper and he's Also scolded for that
Phil would dismiss his stimming as attention seeking
Gonna drop this here again but Wilbur mimicks his stims to make him feel more comfortable and normalised
They fucking. They fucking stim together bro 🥺
One of them starts stimming and it becomes a chain reaction of ":D!!!!!"
Tommy : *starts flapping his hands*
Wilbur : *also starts flapping his hands*

His stims range from the flappy hand stims, restless bouncing, finger snapping, tapping-
he like. He like shakes his legs sometimes. Like he just does a little shimmy.
He also always needs to be doing Something with his hands. He doesn't know what, but he just has to be doing something with em
Which is why he enjoyed sewing so much. It gave his hands something to do while he could easily space out
He spaces out a lot
His mind just fucking Blanks at random times
Wilbur : *talking*
Tommy : *snapping back to reality* wait start again i was thinking about dollar store sponges

Wilbur : so do you understand?
Tommy : what?
Wilbur : the ch-
Tommy, processing it late : OH YEAH
There was this one time he was mid way through a skirmish he just stopped to Look at a dropped potion item and watched it until it despawned
Tommy vocal stims but specifically in the tune of the able sisters
He'd get scolded for that too. To "hush down."
Tommy's very quiet around Phil. He stopped getting excited about the visits, his presents- he stopped asking about his travells in awe and admiration because he was trying to "behave" for him
It breaks Wilbur's heart
Phil would finally ask why he was so quiet out of genuine worry
Tommy ends up snapping at him
Tommy, zoning out, quietly playing with his food :
Phil, putting down his utensils : why are you so quiet? are you sick?
Tommy :
Phil : why did you stop talking to me?
Tommy : *tearing up* mm.
Phil : tommy?
Tommy :
Phil : tommy don't ignore me when I'm speaking to you.
Tommy, snapping : I'M TRYING TO BE GOOD LIKE YOU TOLD ME TO!
Tommy : YOU SAID I WAS TOO LOUD, TOO ANNOYING- SO I TRIED TO STOP!
Tommy : BUT NOTHING'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU!
Phil : I TOLD YOU TO STOP YELLING NOT FOR YOU TO NEVER SPEAK ANOTHER WORD AGAIN!
Tommy, tears streaming down his face : DADZA I'M TRYING
Tommy : I'M-
Tommy : *sniffing* I'm trying really hard.
Wilbur's pretty much the one person who understands his adhd
For fucks sake let's be real Tommy was left undiagnosed for ages until Wilbur actually did something about it
Phil came home to Wilbur having to tell him mans was just That absent
Wilbur : dad y'know how Tommy's very hyperactive and loud? How he can't sit still?
Phil : of course i know! I don't know why he does that
Phil : it's probably for attention. He-
Wilbur, immediately : phil.
Phil : what?
Wilbur : phil he has adhd.
Phil : ah, i'm sure he doesn't. If he did I would know.
Wilbur : i-
Wilbur : *sounds of exasperation*
Wilbur, pulling out a book : I LITERALLY TOOK HIM TO GET DIAGNOSED
Phil : WHY????
Wilbur : BECAUSE HE HAS ADHD????????
Bonus points if Wilbur is also an undiagnosed neurodivergent person
Coming back to his short attention span and the other hc that Wilbur homeschooled him, it was very difficult for Tommy
He just couldn't focus
He couldn't sit down and actually Work for very long because he'd always want to do something Else
He'd get very restless and bounce up and down in his seat
He'd also struggle with reading
Like he could read perfectly fine but his brain just refuses to take it in sometimes
He'd sit there for ages constantly rereading the same lines over and over and over again to the point he bursts into tears in frustration
Oh and he's terrible at math
He'd force himself to Try and understand
He'd ask Wilbur to explain to him again and again again and he tried his god damn best to understand but he just Couldn't
He'd get to the point where he works himself up so much the point of literal tears
Despite all of his difficulties Wilbur was very patient with him
Tommy : I DON'T UNDERSTAND!
Tommy : WHY CAN'T I UNDERSTAND?
Wilbur : do you want to try again?
Tommy, clenching his fists : IF I TRY AGAIN I'LL JUST FAIL!
Tommy, tearing up : I-I'm so fucking STUPID!
Tommy : I'm so stupid I can't do basic fucking multiplication. I'm so fucking-
Wilbur : hey. hey.
Wilbur : you're not stupid.
Tommy : i am!
Wilbur, closing the book : just because math is not your strong suit, doesn't mean you're stupid.
Wilbur : people who think intellegence comes down to purely arthimetics, are stupid.
Wilbur : think about something you're good at.
Tommy, sniffing : well i.
Tommy : i like to- i-i like to sew.
Wilbur : alright, good! is there anything else?
Tommy : i guess i like to write.. plays.
Tommy : but i don't know if i'm good at those things.
Wilbur : do you enjoy them?
Tommy :
Tommy : yes.
Wilbur : then that's all that really matters.

Anyways so Tubbo and Tommy bond over their utter, pure hate for reading
They fucking despise it. But they despise it together
Tubbo, trying to read a book : oh my fucking god fuck reading i hate this shit so much im gonna fist fight god with mY ILITERATE HANDS
Tommy, under his breath : oh god same
Unlike Tubbo, he doesn't despise reading in it's entirety, yknow? He just has a bad experience of forcing himself to try and absorb information he isnt Interested in and that tains his view on reading
He learned to warm up to it via things he enjoys- ie writing loose scripts, reading phil's journals, wilbur's writing-
Wilbur's drafts of writing is what got him to change his mindset in the first place
Tommy will refuse to read his schoolwork or political paper work in his times as vice president but he absolutely would sink himself into wilbur's unfinished drafts of writing or immerse himself into the detailed journal logs from phil's travels
Beauty of hyperfixations huh.
On the terms of hyperfixation, he'd absolutely hyperfixate on his discs
I'm not even talking about his drive to get them back, even if that applies-
I'm talking about their melodies
He'd listen to cat so many times he memorised the rythm. Every beat. Every drop. Every lift.
He'd be reminded of Tubbo.
He'd listen to mellohi and be. Disconnected from reality. For just a moment.
He'd be reminded of Wilbur.
In his exile he had nothing to hyperfixate over, which left him. Hollow.
So he came back to what he was familiar with- discs.
He'd play chirp. Over and over and over again.
He didn't care that it stung. He didn't care that his memories of tubbo were being tainted with the connections of his exile. He didn't care that the melody distressed him in ways he couldn't describe nor understand
Because for fucks sake, he desperately needed something to occupy his mind.
Even if it stung. He'd rather force himself to feel the pain that came with chirp than to feel nothing at all.
To feel numb.
Because he needed to fixate.
