Hi. Please understand that one of the reasons I made my Patreon is to have some means to support my artistry. Which includes making the webcomic- a time and energy consuming endeavor.

Patreon is also just for exclusive prints and early access.

A majority of my art will still be available for viewing. Soo....

You guys won’t be missing much in terms of content :P Especially if you’re on Instagram(I share A LOT of art on my Insrastories). One way or another you will get to see my art.

Once more, I’d like to note why Instagram has become my main platform. It’s a lot easier to protect my art from art theft there. It’s also a very manageable platform.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t like how simple its features were, but I grew to like it a lot.

Hi!! I love your comic and characters. I’m so excited for the reboot! I do have a question though. I was looking through the website and saw that Blue was possibly not going to be in the reboot? I’m just wondering why? Sorry, I’m just curious about the change.

Hi! Yes I am omitting her character from the reboot.

To answer your question, the original plot line involving Blue had many problems and also complicated the already complex story of Almsot Magical. :’(

There’s going to be a lot of down-sizing happening in the Almost Magical reboot. Why? Because as a creator who has been working on this comic for the last on-and-off 8 years,

You learn to value time, effort and learn to look at the bigger picture. Haha. (What matters to me now is that i finish the plot even if it means I have to disregard some ideas. )

Been really quiet here huh?

I think it’s safe to say that I absolutely cannot keep up with the Asks I’ve gotten over the years on Tumblr. 💔 I’m sorry again for that.

Imma go on record to say that, I’ll only be selecting some of the questions from now on. And I apologize for all the questions that have remained unanswered.

So you all probably know I’m most active on Instagram. The platform works reallt well for me to as an artist, and most especially Winx since a majority of our artist community are active there.

So please expect I will be there more often than Tumblr or DA.

Just a note too for questions you have regarding Almost Magical:

I won’t answer questions about the plot. Not now. I’m still working on the rebooted plot and am more focused on art atm

Hi!! I just found out about you comic and am in love with it. But I was scrolling trough your page here and there are somethings that I don’t understand and I was wondering if you have any fics written or something because I feel like I am missing parts of the plot

I have not had any written fics ever. And a lot of the asks pertain to facts about the comic that haven’t made it to print. That’s all. :)

A bunch of answers I’ve made to questions over the years are subject to change in the reboot later this year or early 2021.

It gives me a lot of reassurance to know you can get behind this decision. 😊♥️ Honestly, more than anything, this is for a change of pace. Not only to reboot the comic but to reboot myself after a hectic two years of Interior Design.

Almost Magical REBOOT

Hey guys! I’m sorry for my absence. I hope you’re all doing well. If you follow me on IG, you’ve probably heard the news. Please know that I recently changed my username from “almost.magical.comic” to “chocolatesmoothie.art” So the account can be my official art page.

These are initial character redesigns for Almost Magical reboot ✨ 2020✨

So Chapter 4, page 51 marks the end of the webcomic as you know it. I’ll be putting it on hold, to make room for the new reboot later this year or early 2021.

I thought about this reboot since 2017. Mostly because the comic you see, is not the vision I have for it now. Especially when it comes to the lead character, Star.

The current webcomic will serve as a pilot, one that will acquaint you to the characters.

I don’t want to put anymore delays than i already have. So here we are.

I find there was no better time than now.

What to expect:

The comic will be on WEBTOON/ Tapas, with a shorter, fast-paced story. Character redesigns like the one you see here. A change in comic art style (for efficiency) and also a more creative art style overall, that sets this project apart from the Winx cartoon. (But not really? Because it’s still Winx lol)

You disappointed? Me too. 😂 It’s a bit sudden but, it’s ultimately for the best. After 8 years, things can get tiring as they are. I apologize to anyone who is upset by this huge shift.

Change—felt like the best way to move forward.

To Tumblr, I’m sorry I have been missing for a while. Once I get my life in order haha, I think things can go back to normal. I’ve been quite occupied trying to promote AM on IG lately. Thank you to those in IG for supporting!

Thank you everyone for supporting this comic and for your kind words. I truly appreciate it! The last few months have been a roller coaster of emotions and just trying to get back on my feet. I recently resigned from Interior Designer to pursue art as a career too.

Hi! I’m very sorry this reply came so so late. I don’t even know if you would see it. But yeah, Logan is not Star’s BF. Decided to let go of that since it doesn’t add much to the over arching story. Logan does have a crush on Star though and wants to get her attention 😂 Too bad she’s not quite interested in dating.

It’s really refreshing how you express the girls individuality in their fashions, they all don’t wear super-high heels and pink and dress ridiculously alike (yes I’m throwing shade at the winx’s outfits in later seasons) I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know lol, it’s really a breath of fresh air. Out of Star, Elle, Selene, Thyme, Xana, and Ran, who’s fashion choices are closer to your own?

Honestly I enjoy all of their styles and i pick clothes for them that I kind of actually like to wear Hahahaha. I think the style closest to mine- would have to be SSelene.

I’m a bit of a minimalist at times. Selene’s style is one I really adore - I aspire to dress like her. Clean cut and elegant. Haha.

It’s crazy to think that the gang’s been at that fair for almost a year now 😂 😉 all jokes aside, this update was wonderful. I can understand why it took a while, I couldn’t imagine drawing all that goo 0_o and seeing Star having fun and enjoying herself for once was refreshing. And I love how you drew the dragons, in my personal opinion the ones in the show look like death so your designs were a relief to see 🤣

Haha! The dragons in the show were a too pale- to be honest. I modeled these dragons after the ones in Game of Thrones. Lol. Then mixed it up a bit with my own take. Haha. I personally love dragons whose wings are part of their limbs. Feels bat like and quite animal.

Art Theft on Wattpad

Yep. It’s back. And boy,it’s still not good.

First off, I’ll get back to the Tumblr asks this Sunday. Am sorry I got really caught up with work . I’m really active on Instagram though because it’s so much easier for communication.

Please be aware that I did NOT allow Wattpad users : isabel-lara81, Bloomix4ever and Llinicua to use my comic, my art and my characters for their books. The books are in Spanish, so Spanish reader please be aware.

I want to openly talk about this. Even if it means calling them out. (I don't encourage bullying, death threats, hate - so just in case- don't send them any.)

I only spoke to isabel-lara81, who reposted my comic and art on a Wattpad book. She was difficult. Her replies were rude and sparked anger in me. At first she said she didn't believe I was the real author (because I only made my Wattpad account just to talk to her). Then kept saying that I was making a big deal out of it and that there are worse art theft than her. Yeah. But so what?

Dear, you don't get a say on what I want to do with my art. I was NOT wrong for asking her to give me fully written credit (coz she only mentioned Deviant art and a link to my comic). She did give in (after ten or so angry replies). Anyhow. I thought that was it. Until i found her second book, where she had actually used my art for writing her story without telling me.. And that changed my mind about not reporting this book.

(This was it for me)

We sometimes use public images to visualize our stories. But at the end of the day, only the original creator gets to decide what they want for their works,

We had a long public argument which she deleted now. She said she "was" a fan, and yet she doesn't seem to understand the value of my work. It was like talking to a child (which might be the case). And honestly- I don't want to waste my time asking the other 2 nicely after dealing with the first.

I want you to be aware that this exists. And to know they do not own my work.

(P.S. Other artists have their works being used. Zoratrix and BrokenAmylee to name some.)

Some people might think I'm making a fuss over this. Um... I've ignored these for months. But i have my comic's integrity to protect.

If you're reading, thank you. Hoping Wattpad accepts my report.

I never claim to own Winx- which is obvious, but this fandom has had its fair share of toxic self-entitlement, art theft, and bullying. Which is ironic for a TV show that teaches the value of friendship and hard work.

I wouldn't call these people bad- we all have issues that affect our mindsets. But they have to learn to be respectful to each other and one's work.

Hoping this was insightful.

Yes! Haha. The wizard group I made are kind of like warlocks? But warlocks are also a different classification in the story.

Hahaah I thought about this. And yes in a sense? But they don’t go to Red Fountain. They’re in another academy. (But we’ll seeeeee) And if you’re asking about Boys in Cloud Tower-I have OCs Wizards who are in a different academy that is CoEd. (The school Valtor’s grandchildren attend in.) (as for how the world building here isn’t quite solid yet haha )

More character sketches from IG!! For now I would like to call them “Tuath De” which is a real name in ancient Gaelic Irish lore. it means “Tribe of the gods” and I can’t say that didn’t sell me 100%. (Sexy...)

Out of the four characters, only Callum has been named. Since he’s been an existing character for a while. Let’s just say he’s close to Jamie and Star.

Is there a particular term you'll use for male fairies or will they be just "male fairies"? I've been working on a fantasy project for a while but couldn't really find a good term for male fairies that didn't sound dumb or describe them in a wrong way.

I’m also in the process of naming them tbh 😂 still researching too! Although I don’t find it wrong to call them faeries. Or fae. I’d say that would be a casual term in the story. The real name will be something I have yet think through
