has anyone considered how Dan’s home life growing up was chaotic and unpredictable so Phil offered him a stable, secure, safe and healing space, and since Dan maybe missed some psychological growth milestones as a child he went through that later in life with Phil — and Dan’s time away where he did his own thing, went on a solo tour and found himself sort of mirrors a teenager separating/rebelling from their parents in order to find their own identity. and when Dan was ready he went back to Phil, now feeling secure in who he is as a separate being, and Phil had lovingly given Dan the space he needed in order to help with his personal growth, and in a sense Phil was the family that Dan never had, and now Dan was able to grow and heal the way he should’ve been able to back then if he hadn’t gone through what he had
