i used to be so good at writing strong, thoroughly-researched, thoroughly-edited essays.

as a kid in hs, my teacher literally came up to me, holding my 40 page essay on the intersection of the European witch hunts and capitalism/exploitation/gender roles (it was supposed to be 7 pages...whoops) and went like "this is literally a master's-degree level thesis. what are you doing?? you could literally use this as your final dissertation in a master's program, what the fuck."

NOW??? NOW?? you'd think I'd be oh so skilled. but alas. i can barely piece together two ideas. adhd skill-regression is so so real. im SOBBING

does anyone know a good translation of the mo dao zu shi (grandmaster of demonic cultivation/heaven official’s blessing) novels? i bought the first book of the official english translation and found the prose really lacking, and a lot of people online agree. none of the fan translations seem more fitting either.

i recently connected with someone in ukraine who really likes these novels, and i want to connect with her through this but don’t want to waste money buying the other volumes of a mediocre translation. i don’t know if she found a better ukranian translation or if she was fine with the english translation because english is not her first language and she can take the jumbled prose, but as a native speaker i couldn’t get through it.

can anyone help me? please, i can’t deal with the ‘?!?!???’ punctuation anymore

(also, does the english translation get better with the second/future novels? i might stick it out if i know the prose improves)
