I got a little inebriated and just wrote 3,000 words without even processing it. And they're GOOD. I might end up publishing this out of order if I can get through it well enough.

So I have a fun little announcement to make! I recently redownloaded pinterest for drink recipes (I'm a junior mixologist in training, don't ya know) and I decided to make a board for Polytopia aesthetics! If anyone is interested, the username is allthingstope (pinterest only allows for letters and numbers), and it's a single board with each tribe in a different section. I put pins in based on tribe color, cultures they're inspired by, land and terrain, and so on. Just something fun I felt like doing, so check it out if you'd like!

The Tope Hunger Games
So I've been thinking about this for a while now. I've been getting back into the Hunger Games after reading the books for myself recently (my mom read them to us when we were kids) and I'm so in love with this series. Suzanne Collins really created something truly amazing.
The great thing about Polytopia? It fits into the Hunger Games universe really well! The twelve normal tribes make up the twelve districts, and the four special tribes make up the Capitol. Every tribe specializes in one thing, which can be used as that district's purpose, like in the books. They really have mixed together so seamlessly, it's been a really fun writing experience.
This will be the masterlist for the Tope Hunger Games, as well as some general information I'm putting together in my canonverse. Likewise, if you want to read about a specific character in this setting, go to their tribe's masterlist to find their story. All of my OCs are the ones in these stories, so hopefully you're already familiar with some of the characters.
Real quick, here's a ranking of the tribes, what districts they're in, and what they specialize in.
Xin-xi: District 1, mining, Callow, poor, unskilled
Imperius: District 2, military, Career, wealthy, skilled
Bardur: District 3, hunting/livestock, Career, well-to-do, skilled
Oumaji: District 4, construction, Callow, well-to-do, generally unskilled
Kickoo: District 5, fishing, Callow, poor, generally unskilled
Hoodrick: District 6, textiles, Callow, poor, unskilled
Luxidoor: District 7, riches, Career, wealthy, skilled
Vengir: District 8, smithery, Callow, poor, generally unskilled
Zebasi: District 9, agriculture, Callow, poor, unskilled
Ai-Mo: District 10, medicine, Callow, well-to-do, unskilled
Quetzali: District 11, poultry, Callow, poor, unskilled
Yadakk: District 12, transportation, Callow, well-to-do, unskilled
The four mystical tribes, in my universe, compete every Quarter Quell. Otherwise they're escorts, Capitolites, all that jazz.
Aquarion: District 13, aquatism, Career, wealthy, skilled
Elyrion: District 14, enchantment, Career, wealthy, skilled
Polaris: District 15, frostwork, Career, wealthy, skilled
Cymanti: District 16, mycelium, Career, wealthy, skilled
Hope this helps! I tend to use the districts instead of the tribe names, so it may get confusing. How I picture them looking, as well as what their tribe land looks like, remains canon. It's basically just Polytopia in the Hunger Games, with THG weapons and technology and stuff.
Like I said, the stories (once I get them) will be linked both here, and on each tribe's specific masterlist. This will probably take a while to update, since I want to write all of their original stories first, so you have a better understanding of their personalities. I just couldn't wait to post this.

My game totally just glitched and gave me so much more population than I was supposed to get (it even upgraded other cities from a 5 all the way up to a 6) but it's not like I was complaining

Introducing the Quetzali
I made these out of order, so here is the final list of characters you need to know! Over the course of several days, we're finally here! It's been quite a journey, and I'm very happy with how it's gone.
Tumblr media
Here is Ixca, the new leader of the Quetzali. The former leader died, and everyone in the tribe had to present an offering to the gods to see who would be the next ruler. Ixca presented a family heirloom, which everyone thought to be an old rock, but was actually a fossilized Qui-Qui egg, and very priceless. Ixca is whisked to the capital, put through hours of lessons and training to be the new ruler, all while being completely and utterly lost.
Ixca had always been friendly, but not bad the best luck at making friends. She had one childhood friend that stuck around, but after that friend got married, Ixca was mostly left to her own devices. She had old parents that died when she was young, and she's used to being on her own.
Tumblr media
Next is Jachutal, a Quetzali leader, and the one leading Ixca through her lessons. Her first ally in this new territory, Ixca grows to depend on him a great deal, not trusting anyone else initially. He worries for her and tries to introduce her to other people so she doesn't develop trust issues or a codependency on him.
Jachutal is proud and unafraid, self-assured during a fight, with a hidden mean streak. He isn't above pushing himself ahead, though with Ixca, he simply can't bring himself to do anything to harm her. It's the turning of a new page for Jachutal.
Tumblr media
Now we have Sol'el. An expert swordsman, Jachutal introduces her to Ixca in hopes of giving Ixca some more allies, disguising it as Sol'el giving Ixca self defense lessons. Sol'el knows about Jachutal's plan without him saying a word, and she does her part to befriend Ixca.
Sol'el is quiet like Ixca, with very few friends. Being so masterful at such a young age, people aren't always sure how to treat her. She doesn't rule a city, but she does attend certain meetings, and that only increases once she and Ixca get to know each other.
Tumblr media
Finally is Caix. Jachutal's twin brother, Caix is a spy who is very much against blackmail and deception, funnily opposite his brother. He's very devoted to his family and his tribe, a follower of the rules, and he grows fond of Ixca upon meeting her, in the same boat as his brother in terms of feeling almost bad for her, knowing she could use some more allies in her newfound position.

Introducing the Polaris
These little ice guys are the best. I'm from Wisconsin, so I'm really used to a frozen tundra. It really is true, that if it weren't for that wind it wouldn't be so cold!
Tumblr media
First up is Ilta, the leader of the Polaris tribe. Within weeks of him taking the throne, he's had to deal with attacks from other tribes, as well as the disappearance of most of the Gaami, which is weakening the Polaris magic and making the snow and ice melt. It's a lot for a new ruler to deal with, and Ilta is doing everything in his power to keep it sll together.
He's generally reserved and actually at a loss. He doesn't know how to handle crisis very well, so he relies heavily on those around him for support. Ilta isn't afraid to ask for help, and he isn't prideful or shameful. He knows that sometimes you need outside help to get a job done.
Tumblr media
Next is Iq'il, Ilta's right hand. She's tough, determined, and loyal to Ilta, even when others begin to wonder if he isn't cut out for leadership. She rules a city of her own, and cares deeply about her people, as well as the world around them. She has a deep connection with nature.
Tumblr media
Here we have Ilan, a spy, scout, cloak, all of the above. She's a true survivor, living in the wilderness with ease, even compared to her fellow Polaris. She has a strong connection to nature, as well as a strong sense of justice. She loves her people, and her land, and they will always come first, even if it means giving up her own life for them.
Tumblr media
Lastly is Dota, a high-ranking noble who inherits a city a little bit before Ilta becomes the next chief. He was raised in sophistication, with the finest materials and great wealth, and yet he's still cool. Guess capitalism doesn't corrupt them all!

Introducing the Luxidoor
And now for our fancy rich people! The Elyrion have their mystical wealth, but the Luxidoor have literal monetary wealth. They're classy and pompous and live a completely different lifestyle than the rest of the Square, and all the men give me Oscar Wilde vibes (as in Wilde wrote them, but instead it was me).
Tumblr media
First we have Exiouux. As you know from Luxidoor lore, the richest is always elected as the ruler, without much consideration for political campaigns. Exiouux's parents are the former rulers, and they're retiring early to travel, leaving Exiouux with the throne. He was raised as the highest royalty in all the land, and he's exactly as you'd expect.
Spoiled, bratty, and essentially uncaring to anything that doesn't have to do with him, Exiouux really isn't fit to rule anything or anyone, but he has money and doesn't care. Until, of course, he's kidnapped and forced to endure a rude awakening.
Tumblr media
Here is Poemni, Exiouux's cousin. She is real ruler material, making an actual effort to get to know other tribes and their leaders and customs. She's smart, careful, and almost as rich as Exiouux, so she ends up ruling a different city versus all of the Luxidoor.
Frequently irritated with Exiouux's carelessness, and having to clean up most of his messes, Poemni is also one of the only people who puts up with her cousin. Really, she sees his potential and is saddened that he does little with it.
Tumblr media
Next we have Issa'ka, Poemni's younger sister. She's fanciful and flighty, and is enchanted by all things mystical. She's very intuned with nature, and no one really knows what to make of her, since she isn't obsessed with finery and aristocracy. Exiouux likes her though, and she likes him too. She gives him moments of normalcy.
Tumblr media
And finally is Kiem. His parents rule a Luxidoor city, and he's set to take over after them. He and Exiouux went to academy together, and they were a sort of thing back then, and there's still tension today. Exiouux doesn't know if he actually likes Kiem or not, or if it's just playful, academia banter. This dynamic is what gives me Oscar Wilde vibes.

Introducing the Kickoo
Onto the cool islanders! These guys are just chill and I love it. I kinda love the idea of living on an archipelago island chain thing. An eternal beach with nice jungle. So good.
Tumblr media
First up, we've got Anko! She's the daughter of the Kickoo ruler, but she has an older brother who's next in line, and an older sister after that, and it's not like she really wants to rule anyway. As a child, Anko was kidnapped by the Cymanti and wasn't liberated until a year later. While she's recovered okay, she's still traumatized and physically scarred from the experience.
Anko, however, remains kind and loving. She's happy just being with her people, she's patient, and everyone loves her, even those from other tribes. They just can't help it.
Tumblr media
Now we have Koan. He comes from a long line of soldiers and warriors, and Koan quickly followed that same path. After Anko was rescued, she had a hard time speaking with anyone, and so Koan snuck in to see her. He taught her a new game, and they've been friends ever since. Now, Koan acts as Anko's personal guard, though their friendship helps to make it a little less formal.
Koan is wise, and he greatly respects his elders and the opinions of others. He values community and working together, and he makes a great leader no matter who he's with.
Tumblr media
Up next is Ansisane, another warrior like Koan. She's smart and sassy, and she makes quick enemies (though it's not like the Kickoo to hold grudges). She's also a friend of Anko's, through Koan, but they don't need Koan around to be friends. Not to mention, lesbian representation!
Tumblr media
Finally is Sianta. Also from a family of warriors, Sianta chose a different path and became a healer instead. He ends up studying mind bending, and he joins the military parties because of how skilled he becomes. Soft and gentle, Sianta is sometimes scared of his own potential, and Anko is one of the only people he's able to confide in.

Introducing the Xin-xi
Here we have the Xin-xi tribe and some bigger characters that deserve faces! This is what all of the Xin-xi look like anyway. That's not how genetics work, I know, but let's pretend they don't exist here. No Punnett squares in Polytopia.
Tumblr media
First up is Sha, one of the biggest sweethearts across the entire Square. He's from a noble family and is up to rule, but he just wants to live in a cabin by himself and be happy and at peace. He's a gentle soul, focused on the pursuit of peace and knowledge, and he has no time or patience for arguments or fighting. Long story short, there's not a mean bone in his body.
Tumblr media
Next we have Xili, a spy, scout, cloak, whatever the Xin-xi need of her. She began her training when she was very young, and is one of the most skilled spies they have. There are rumors of trafficking happening over borders, and she's been tasked to keep an eye on things.
Xili and Sha happen to meet entirely by chance, but they get along quickly. Xili is quick-witted and smart and sassy, and Sha absolutely loves her company.
Tumblr media
Now for Liyosha, Sha's older sister. She's first in line for the throne, and I haven't decided if she decides to travel, therefore turning down her crown, or if she dies young. I'll figure that out soon. Either way, Liyosha is a free spirit, that badass older sister everyone wants. She's opinionated, smart, and kind, and she has endless support and belief in everyone. Everyone just loves her.
Tumblr media
Finally is Rinayo, Liyosha's best friend. His family used to be nomadic before settling down and working in the palace, and he and Liyosha would run around and get into things they shouldn't. He's the older brother figure Sha never had, and he's just as cool as Liyosha. They both involved Sha whenever he wanted, and Sha is incredibly fond of Rinayo, who is just as adventurous as Liyosha.

Flags of Polytopia Tribes Part 2
from /r/vexillology Top comment: Flags of the next four polytopia tribes. ([Part 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/vexillology/comments/lcihlg/flags_of_polytopia_tribes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)) **Kickoo:** I went for a pennant as it is the most common shape for a burgee (sailing club flag), so has the nautical association, the blue is obvious. The feather is supposed to be the same as the ones they have in their headdresses. **Hoodrick:** Boring symbolism here, the arrows are sort of obvious. I chose the colours based off the flag of Nottingham, where the myth of Robin Hood is set. **Luxidoor:** Purple is the colour associated with the luxidoor people, and gold represents wealth. The symbol in the middle is designed to look like a gemstone cut in the shape of the sun. **Vengir:** The three points of the tongued swallow tail represent the three points on vendor helmets, and the black and white design is shaped to look like a sword. (This is probably my second favourite of the eight I’ve done so far, behind the oumaji flag)
