In Addition
The things that are happening today have been happening for decades like police killings of unarmed black men and women, but with so many cellphones available to record many of these incidents, it is being broadcast to the public like never before. With the implementation of social media, the world is now aware of how racist this world is and how black people are being treated as a whole in the United States. The positive thing is that people are taking a stand against injustices. Defunding the police has mixed reactions, but to many people is necessary to put a stop to major corruption within law enforcement. #Blacklivesmatter started off as a positive movement for a great cause but has been co-opted and is primarily used to make money. I believe that instead of the #blacklivesmatter movement, there should instead be one called #noantiblackracism. #Blacklivesmatter has too much of a victim aura to it. #Noantiblackracism is demanding what should be instead of begging.

Many people believe that too much money is going towards police department and that they either need to be majorly defunded or abolished all together.

The problem is that “intersectionality” becomes a label, like “liberal” or “alt-right,” which can then be “weaponized” in the polarity wars. People don’t understand what it means, only that they are “for it” or “against it.

Black Americans are paying the price for demanding justice. Activists are being eliminated one by one.
