I am Amani, and as you know, my sister Eman and I are currently living in the besieged Gaza Strip. We are the only ones left from our family. We live with our children in a tent, experiencing the worst living conditions. We are still suffering and struggling to provide water, food, and other necessities. Normal fucking people who are barely able to make ends meet are desperately trying to cobble together enough money to send to corrupt extortionist Egyptian officials to evacuate people from an extermination camp while rich as fuck celebrities who could probably singlehandedly fully fund every Palestinian family's escape fund do absolutely nothing. this may sound surreal in the year 2024 where everything has to be shared on social media for points and to show how great of a person you are, but I feel like it’s possible some celebrities have donated to Palestine charities/donations without posting about it.

Again, I know this is probably bizarre because a lot of celebrities post about helping a cause to give themselves good PR (or in a lot of cases I’ve seen regarding Palestine, it’s because if they don’t, they’ll get bombarded by crazy fans in their comments and get accused of being zionists). But to my knowledge, there are a good amount of celebrities that donate to organizations in secret without making a huge deal of it. (Obviously that news gets released somehow, because how else would we know about it? But it’s not announced by the celebrity with a ton of fanfare).

I feel like secret donations have been made towards Palestine and we just don’t know. I’m not saying celebs shouldn’t talk about the genocide or share links, but I find it incredibly annoying that a lot of them (probably) feel the need to share they donated because if they don’t they’ll be accused of being a Zionist.

Obviously it comes to light somehow because otherwise people wouldn’t know they donated but they don’t make a whole fanfare of it.

(I know a lot of your asks today have been about getting Taylor to speak out and or donate and I wanna be clear I’m not talking about her, I just mean in celebrities in general).

the entire point though is to spread awareness and help as much as possible, sharing the donations makes other people aware of the organization or the fundraiser so other people can donate and get even more support. and i dont really care about celebrities looking good or whatever, because this isn't about that. i don't care if news comes out tomorrow about a celebrity who people previously called out for not speaking about Palestine donating money to a charity because.... they still should've talked about it. silence makes you complicit and it's what Israel wants. it's not "fanfare", it's bringing people together to help save people from genocide.

Genuinely cannot begin to fathom what postpartum is like in Gaza. I was beyond blessed to have doctors and nurses present and I still suffered so much not only during labour but afterwards, and for months and months after. I cannot imagine doing that while also trying to survive genocide. Literally cannot imagine going through postpartum in a tent. I cannot imagine having to heal after giving birth in the heat of the summer with no electricity or a sip of cold, clean water. The fact that most mothers are malnourished and maternity care is almost nonexistent because of Israel is devastating to just think about. And I'm sure most of the care items needed postpartum are unavailable due to the blockade and to Zionist lunatics preventing aid from getting in.
