Avery had never had a friend before, she only talked to her grandmother and spent her time studying and on the farm. With Bernice for the first time she feels she has found an equal, a companion to share experiences, laugh and cry with.
Kade is even more shy than Avery, and spends all his time training his two horses and listening to music. Passing through the city center by chance, he can't help but approach Avery when he sees her from a distance.

After a couple of hours at the party, Avery exhausts her social energy and decides to return to the ranch to check that all is well. Desmond insists on accompanying her, and she ends up inviting him to spend the night.
Avery still doesn't believe that life as a couple is for her, and she still doesn't feel what she's heard so much from her grandmother's mouth when she talked about her grandfather. Still, she decides to give in to passion with Desmond.
She doesn't seem to regret It 🤪🤝

Avery has lived in Chestnut all her life, with the company of her granny and her animals. Until the town decided to encourage more enterprising young people to move in, her life was very lonely. Not that she minded, but she had never enjoyed a party before, which she always thought she wouldn't enjoy. Desmond has just arrived in town and already knows people Avery had never heard of before.
Lando, the only one Avery knows (besides Desmond) tells her that most people won't show up until 11 pm so, Avery gets to meet with just a few. We don't want to overwhelm her all at once.
