hi!! i have some requests! my ideas were either (or both) lars nsfw and sfw alphabets! as well as maybe some nsfw headcannons or kinks?
i’ll definitely keep this in my notes because i want to do this! i’ve never done the alphabet with nsfw or sfw so it’ll be a first (i hope i don’t disappoint).
i also thought about doing nsfw headcannons on part 2 of the headcannons, but since so many people are requesting more i’ll put it on part 3

First lockdown
Tumblr media
*requested*
For @mischiefnevermanaged89-blog
Prompts: #14 & #22
Fandom: Ghost Adventures
Pairing: Zak Bagans x reader
~~~
It was your first lockdown with the ghost adventures crew and you’d be lying to have said that you weren’t in any way scared.
Once you reached the St. Anne’s retreat, you had the urge to turn around and go back, but you remained and followed the boys in, wanting to show that you didn’t have any fear in the slightest.
However, when the interviews were wrapped up and night had fallen, that all changed and your nervousness started coming through. You were close losing your composure, and Zak must have picked up on that pretty fast, you suddenly feel his arm drap over your shoulders as he pulled you close. Zak than speaks to you in a tone of voice for only you could hear, and it took you a little by surprise, it was something you wouldn’t think of hearing from Zak.
“Don’t worry, I’ll stay by you the whole lockdown since it’s your first.”
Rather than feeling comforted by his words, you felt more vulnerable than anything else. You don’t know why, you don’t understand why, but you went along with it and everything was running smoothly in the way it was supposed to be until Zak had locked Aaron in another building that sat on part of the property.
Both you and Aaron were freaking out.
“This wasn’t part of the deal!”
You couldn’t understand what Zak had said to that as you got lost in smacking his arm and begging for him to let Aaron out.
“Zak, we can’t just leave him in there by himself! What if something happens to him?!” Zak acted as if he didn’t hear you.
After some convincing, Aaron agreed to stay behind as you and Zak continued making your way around the investigation.
The whole time, you were silently doubting yourself. Thinking of things like, why did Zak choose to become part of the crew, you don’t know. You may seem tough on the outside, but really, you were just as much as a wuss as anyone else. Out of everyone Zak had to choose from, he chose you. Zak saw a lot of great potential in you, and not only that, he had developed feelings for you. Over the short time you’ve been part of the crew, you started growing the same feelings for Zak as well. Somehow, you both know how you felt about each other, but you both remained silent on that. You both unknowingly made it obvious for the rest of the crew, they knew it but stayed silent for obvious reasons.
The two of you were walking to the pool where they say a nun supposedly drowned her baby in years ago, and as you did, the urge to ask the begging question grew. You couldn’t bring yourself to ask it until you were going back for Aaron. It was almost too challenging for you to ask, but you had to do it, you had to know otherwise, it’d drive you crazy. To gain control of your nerves, you begin by keeping it simple, but Zak cuts in before you could say anything. Praising you about how well you were doing on your first lockdown.
“How do you feel now that we’re halfway through your first lockdown?”
“I feel good about it, still a little uncertain about it my investigation skills.”
“I think you’re doing an excellent job, better than anyone I’ve seen handling a lockdown, whether it’s their first or not.”
You couldn’t help but feel slightly shy all of a sudden, but you quickly regained composure and turned the conversation around.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Yes, what’s up?”
“Why did you choose me? Out of everyone there, you had chosen me. Why did you choose me?”
At this point, you were back at the building Aaron was locked in earlier.
Unbeknownst to you, while Zak was about to give you an answer, Aaron was Ron the other side of the door, waiting to be let out when he started listening in on your conversation. As you look at Zak, you notice he seemed to be trying to put the right words to say in his head, as he didn’t want to have accidentally confess to you, confess to you yet, at least. You continue to wait patiently for a response, than he gave it to you.
“You know why, (Y/n).”
That was the last thing you had expected to hear.
You stared at him in disbelief, hardly daring to believe what he meant by that.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Zak was about to respond, but Aaron beats him to it, revealing Zak’s feelings for you.
“It means he likes you, (Y/n).”
“Aaron, shut up! No I don’t!”
“Stop lying! Stop lying to yourself and just admit it!” Aaron shouts back.
You lightly chuckle when you see that Zak seemed to be the most embarrassed than you had ever seen him before.
When he doesn’t say anything, you begin to ask him to know for yourself that if it’s true.
“What Aaron just said, is it true?”
Zak sighs heavily before responding.
“Yes. Yes it is.”
You felt your cheeks burn pink as he continued with an explanation.
“I wasn’t planning on confessing. Well, confessing this soon at least. I’m sorry if this makes you feel weird and I understand if you don’t feel the same way.”
As Zak rambles on, you feel the happiest you ever have been in the longest time.
You decide to confess as well.
“Shut the hell up, you don’t need to worry about that because I like you, too.”
The second you spoke a confession of your own, he was just as happy as you were.
Now was probably not the best place or timing to ask you for a date, but he did it anyway, and of course you agree.
“Can I take you on a date?”
“Absolutely!”
“It’s a date!”
Because you were both caught up in the moment, you had momentarily forgotten about Aaron.
Aaron takes his fist to the door, slightly scaring the hell out of you and Zak as his shouting to let him out.
“We get it! You like each other! Now let me out, I can’t take much longer of being locked in!”
“Stop lying!”
Zak talks back.
This was an interesting lockdown, especially for your first.
You were just going to keep it at that.
~~~
A/N:
Thank you so much for requesting! This was so much fun to write, please feel free to send more stuff in!!’ 💜

hi guys here’s some more headcannons for Lars (btw i’m doing these literally right before my exam🥲)
like i said last time, these are my headcannons, they may not be yours…
Lars loves ice cream. Even though he may deny it, he has a massive sweet tooth. You most definitely can bribe him with sweets.
Lars is a cat person. Sorry guys, had to say it. It’s not that he hates dogs, he just thinks it’s easier to take care of cats, plus they’re super goofy. He would probably own a black cat or a calico. Lars would so spoil his cat as much as possible, you think it’s a little unfair.
Lars’ favorite genre of books is dystopian fiction. Something about robots and future make him excited. He really likes the book Brave New World.
Lars takes you on a date every week. That’s how his momma raised him. He may not be from America, but he sure knows how to treat a lady. He really enjoys going to the movies or the beach with you. He thinks you’re so beautiful when the salty air blows your hair softly around you. Lars loves the smell of the sea and thinks that he would definitely propose to you on the beach.
He is super good at video games. Not like the Last of Us or Call of Duty, I mean like Centipede and Donkey Kong. It’s what he grew up playing, so expect him to be insanely good. Also don’t play him in Super Smash Ultimate, he would shit on you fr.
Lars hates when you talk to someone on the phone when he’s with you. He likes being the center of attention when he’s with you. He also thinks it’s super rude because you’re spending time with him. Unless it’s your mom, then he completely understands and gives you some slack.
His favorite comedian is Bo Burnham. More importantly, he likes the music Bo creates. It makes him literally giggle when he listens to it. You think it’s a little weird, but you’re glad he’s actually enjoying something.
Whenever you’ve been at the lab for a few days, Lars always makes you a bath before you come home so you can have some alone time. Probably the nicest thing he’ll do for you, but it definitely shows that he loves you so much.
Lars doesn’t like the heat. He’d rather be in the cold where he can wear multiple layers instead of sweating to death. Poor dude was stuck with that most of his life, so he loved it when he moved to New York.
Mr. Nerd geeks out when someone talks about Ghost Corps in a good way. He’ll yap on and on forever about it if you let him. Sometimes you’ll have to drag him away from the poor soul who struck up a conversation with him.
He has a photo album like the ‘Our Adventure Book’ from Up, which contains photos of you and him together. He looks at it whenever he feels sad or needs motivation.
He has a system of marks for when you looks especially attractive to him. Normally they’re color coded for the color you wear and have a specific shape for what kind of outfit it is.
Surprisingly, Lars’ love language is gift giving. He loves giving you little trinkets that you’ve mentioned you liked. It’s the cutest thing ever. It shows he pays attention to you.
Lars loves it when you wear his glasses. He thinks you look like a nerd and it makes you 10x cuter. If you’re in the lab and you steal them off him, he won’t take them back until you give them to him.
um sorry if these are a little short, i’ll definitely make more in the future

just a few headcannons I have for Lars
(btw these are mine, they may not be yours)
Lars is the type of guy who gets super mega irritated if you ask too many questions about anyone besides him. Oh, you're asking him about his work? It's fine until you bug him with questions about other people and their work
Despite what you may believe, Lars is also a very jealous guy. One word about another guy and he's already interrogating you like you just murdered someone
Dude has absolutely no chill when it comes to his work. Someone starts talking shit about what he does and it's so over for them.
Even though he may not show it, Lars really enjoys when you touch him. If you're sitting beside him at the lab and place a hand on his shoulder, he's definitely leaning into you and relishing your touch (could also definitely be taken into other context as well).
Lars can absolutely, in no way shape or form, cook to save his life. He heavily relies on whatever he's got in his pantry or you to make him something. He also doesn't really have time for breakfast, so you best believe he's a snacker.
Lars talks to his mom on the phone everyday after he gets home from work. He is, without a doubt, a momma raised boy and you love it.
Lars hates coffee. Plain and simple. He will literally drink anything other than coffee. In fact, his favored drink isn't tea, it's water. He has to maintain his perfect hair somehow.
He may be a cocky son of a bitch, but he will definitely stand up for you if someone belittles you. Lars likes to tease you by saying rude things, but you know that he's just playing and that's how he flirts. When other people do it, he's very quick to jump on their ass about it. Absolutely no tolerance for someone making fun of you.
Even though Lars may not be social, he loves to converse about science and whatnot. He could literally get stuck in a conversation for hours about science. You find it so cute that whenever someone brings up something he likes to talk about, his pupils widen and a grin breaks out on his face.
Lars really loves to listen to music. He listens to it in the lab, at home, anywhere he can really. He's more into indie and older music, like Bees Gees, Sports Team, or Turning Jane.
Lars likes stupid romcom movies. It's a bit cliche, but he really loves a good romcom movie. He'd sit there for hours and watch them if you let him. He hates to admit it, but he loves Clueless and Legally Blonde.
He loves it when you kiss him. Whenever you kiss him, he always has a stupid little love drunk smile after. He's so head over heels for you and it's so cute.
Surprisingly, he's not super neat. Of course, he's not super messy either. Normally, he has a little clutter on his desk and he hates when someone touches something. If someone starts to clean up his desk a little, he's super quick to tell them off about it.
Lars loves when he's able to relax with you. On the days that neither of you are at the lab all night, he loves to curl up with you on the bed and talk about something. Sometimes you both read instead of talking. Just kinda a way to decompress after a long few days of work.
Even though he hunts ghosts, Lars is scared super easily. You could literally be standing behind a door and when he opens it he jumps and lets out a string of curses. This, of course, comes with some of the best pranks you've ever pulled on him. However, don't think that he won't do something back. He despises horror movies and makes you hold his hand whenever you watch one.
Lars puts a lot of time into his hair and skin. We all know about the Pukey incident (which you did not let him live down), so you definitely know that he's extra careful with his skincare and haircare from now on (his hair turned green for a few days).
Despite not knowing how to cook, Lars is such a foodie. If he has the chance to try something new, you best believe he's going to try it. Lars also loves fruity drinks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic (just like James).
I hope you guys liked some of these headcannons as much as I do because they're so fun to write.

Imagine If You Will...
In the aftermath of Garraka Lars makes his way back to the lab... You are just a little amused at the state he's in.
One-Liner: #7 from @deity-prompts' list here
Warnings: mentions of sticky, tacky slimy and moist/wet stuff
The door felt heavier than usual as Lars tugged it open, it was also substantially stickier... but that probably wasn't the door's fault. Lars shrugged off his red coat and turned it inside out in an effort to free himself of the wetness that refused to leave his outfit, and as he tied the arms around his waist a dribble of slimy... whatever... dripped from inside the cuffs to the tiles below him.
Walking through the halls, the sound of globs and droplets splattering to the floor was accompanied by the squelching of his boots with every step he took. Needless to say you heard him coming.
Most of your coworkers and the other scientists had gone to the firehouse to celebrate Ghost Corps being brought back, so the facility was all but silent. Your thoughts were torn from the document you were reviewing by his kerfuffle of an entrance and the strange sounds that were only growing louder. Peering out the door to your office you caught sight of Lars...
His hair was splayed in points in every which way, whatever he was coated in acting like some interdimensional hair gel. His Coat was a darkened red and shone with slime, Nevertheless the red made his eyes glow even more than you swore they always did. Irrelevant? perhaps, but you could never seem to stop yourself from noticing them.
Unable to hide your chuckle at his wet cat demeanor, you stepped back, opening the door wide and waiting for him to round the corner. As he trudged over the threshold, you made quick work of laying a towel across your spare chair before settling back into your own.
"Well... I don't think what you're wearing in suitable for the workplace." He scoffed, but the tug of a smile at his lips gave him away.
His tone was light as he whined "I save the world and that's the thanks I get?" Folding his jacket over the back of the chair, he shed the top half of his jumpsuit, tying it around his waist as he had the coat, before settling into the chair.
Tugging open one of the draws by your side you grabbed a spare piece of merchandise, tossing it his chest, "There you go, hero."
As he unfurled the top he narrowed his eyes at you, turning it so you could see the printed text 'Ghostbusting Apprentice in training' painted across the chest. Watching as he dropped it on the desk, you pretended to consider for a moment, as he watched you, eyebrows raiseed in a look that said... 'really?'
"I suppose you could have this one instead..." Reaching behind yourself you pulled out a freshly ironed t-shirt, unfolding this one yourself you laid it out on your desk in front of him.
His eyes bulged slightly, before his eyes were once again squinting in your direction, a challenging type look on his face now as his brows furrowed.
Across the chest of the green tee was the words 'Pukey's Splash Zone'.
"What? You thought the others could resist telling me what happened?" You weren't even trying to hold back your grin at this point, much too amused with his situation and now the added confusion that painted his face. "But... how? That was barely an hour ago." He muttered, perplexed, as he studied the text up close.
"I'd love to say I saw it coming and had it made ages ago, but..." Turning my head slightly I gestured to the iron and paper offcuts still lingering on top of a cabinet.
"Never make the mistake of thinking I'm without craft supplies."
Lars' expression was simply amused, all lingering frustration long gone. "I won't, I promise" Laughing through his words, he pulled the shirt on over his button up. The movement only ruffled his hair further, various pieces now pointing askew out to the side or straight upwards. Slightly disheveled and lounging in your spare chair he was entrancing. You struggled to think of something to break the silence, mind too caught in how soft it made him look to think up any more teasing.
"lovely..." is all you can manage to whisper, though you weren't sure if you were talking about his promise or him as a whole.
"I'm feeling much more work appropriate already" He joked looking down at the tee, only raising his eyes to consider you, when you remained silent. Your gaze was back on your computer, desperately avoiding staring, the room was caught in awkward tension, and the stress built up over the last few days was still thick in the air.
"I'm really glad you're all alright. I was more than a little worried about you Lars"
"Hey its okay, everyone's alright. Even the ghosts got out okay" He never really failed to bring a smile to your face and that little joke was enough for now.
"Wait why me?"
Shit

a/n: short one bc im still in a slump rn many sorries. also sorry lawl this fic is so disconjointed and i’m really unhappy with it but whatever 😭 warnings: nothin proper i don’t think, most ooc lars to ever ooc, unedited; tell me if i've spelt smth wrong 😁
“Would you want to go out to get some lunch together on our break?” Your fingertips bounce off of the sides of your legs as you try to remain composed. You're so high-strung right now, you almost expect him to laugh in your face. Nerves and the effects of having slept a fitful two hours last night override your usually rational brain and you feel the need to just run away without receiving an answer bloom in your chest.
“I thought you usually brought lunch? If you forgot to bring some you can have some of mine, if you want.” Lars doesn’t even look up from what he’s working on, just adjusts his glasses and uses a vague jut of his elbow to point to his locker, where you know his bag is. Your heart simultaneously drops and stutters.
“Oh, it’s okay, I just felt like going out to eat, thank you though.” You try to make your words seem more upbeat than you feel, unsure of whether or not to take his words as a rejection.
“Oh. Okay then.” It must be your imagination, but his words hold a hint of disappointment. You open your mouth again, then close it, and silence re-envelopes the room. Turning, you make your way to your desk and begin to work away, dejection slumping your shoulders forward and making time drag on. When eventually the lunch break arrives, you grab your bag and rush your way out of the lab.
A squeak of shoes on the concrete floor behind you almost has you looking back, but your brain is so addled you almost believe you’ve made it up.
Like a fool, you don't talk to him when you come back, or when you leave, the time you spend alone and in silence building up an anxiety in the back of your mind. The idea that he's all too aware of your feelings, and is made uncomfortable by them and your advances overtakes you completely. That night, you stay awake, tossing and turning, over analysing every interaction you've ever had with him, trying to make sure you've not overstepped and made a complete and utter fool of yourself.
In the morning, you consider it a miracle you leave the house at all, with how tired you are. The thought of calling in sick crosses your mind, but by the time you get up your body automatically locks itself into its usual routine, and you mindlessly get dressed and make your way to the Ghostbusters facilities. Through your drowsiness, the realisation that you’re at your desk and doing absolutely nothing sets in and you jolt.
“Good morning.” If he didn’t sound so concerned, Lars would sound thoroughly amused. “You alright? Look a bit…off.” Your face flares, and you go to stand up, only to stumble and almost fall on your face. Hands out, you stabilise yourself, and then face him.
“Yeah. Morning.” You can only hope that he backs off, because his concern seems too genuine for your feelings to not expand exponentially the more he stands before you looking like he cares. “M’feeling just peachy, you?.” Belatedly, you realise your words are clearly not convincing because he doesn’t move an inch, simply studying you. He then sighs and shakes his head, chuckling a little bit, just softly under his breath, taking a couple steps closer to you.
“When’s the last time you slept?” His voice is too gentle, too un-Lars-like, that you’re almost convinced you actually did fall asleep last night, and now you’re dreaming. You open your mouth to respond, but find yourself nodding off as you do so, the last thing you process before fully passing out is the feeling of arms around your chest and shoulders.
When you come to, you sit up quickly, and slowly become aware of what had happened. Muttering cursing to yourself under your breath, you take in your surroundings, finding yourself slung over the small couch situated in the room reserved for taking time off from work briefly. Hurriedly, you rush out of the room towards where you assume Lars is working, apology already on the tip of your tongue. You approach him quickly and loudly, a fact that can be gathered from his head immediately snapping up when you enter the room. He starts to speak, no doubt to rattle off reasons why you were irresponsible and stupid for coming to work while being aware you weren’t at your fullest capacity, but you cut him off.
“God, I’m so sorry. That was humiliating, and I’m so, so sorry that it happened, it won’t happen again.” You bow your head, refusing to look him in the eye, but quickly look up again when you hear him laugh.
“It’s fine, really, you just scared me a little bit.” His smile is small, but sincere and you remember fully the reason you were in the predicament in the first place. “Are you feeling better now?”
You probably look a bit crazy with how vigorously you nod, but you barely care anymore.
“Yes, thank you so much, really, I’m sorry that it happened.” He laughs again, and it sounds like heaven.
“You don’t need to thank me or apologise,” Lars’ eyes sparkle a bit behind his glasses when he properly smiles, and you can feel warmth rush to your face. He hesitates, like he’s calculating his words, then gently says “I-uh. I care for you a lot, it really meant nothing for me to make sure you were okay.”

I saw you were asking for prompts for lars pinfield and was wondering if you were interested in writing something where the reader is the oldest spengler kid(like 10-12 years older than phoebe) and she works with lars and its obvious to Lucky and Trevor that there's something going on between the reader and Lars but neither will admit it. This got so long, sorry.
No need to apologise. It wasn't that long at all. It could have been even longer lol
“Oi, Pinfield.”
Lars looked up as you sauntered over, hand in your back jean pocket. His eyes swept up your body, lingering a moment longer than was appropriate. Coming to rest against the bench, one hip cocked, you smirked down at him.
“You’ve got something of mine,” you said.
“Do I?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Yup. You’re nothing but a common thief,” you replied.
“I think I’m rather uncommon, thank you very much,” he said, looking back to the wiring he was working on.
“Are you gonna give it back or do I have to plan a heist to reclaim my property?” you asked.
“Depends on what it is,” he said with a small shrug.
He glanced up at you from under eyelashes, lips pulling up at the corner. You lent closer, placing one hand flat on the bench in front of him. His chin tilted up towards you, blue eyes sparkling from behind glass.
“You’ve taken my soldering iron you bastard,” you said.
“Company property,” he replied, pursing his lips, “you have no claim on it.”
“Check the bottom,” you said, a hint of smugness entering your expression.
He sighed, picking up the soldering iron he’d been using only moments before. Your name was scrawled there, practically carved into the metal. His lips pursed again and you felt the need to bite down on your lower lip, holding back your laughter. Your shoulders shook once he looked at you, raised eyebrow saying everything you needed to hear.
“Hand it over, nerd,” you said, holding out a hand expectantly.
When he didn’t, you reached forward, trying to snatch it from him. Warm arms caught you, pinning your arms to your side, Lars’ face was so close to yours and as his head dipped you had the irrational thought he was about to kiss you. Your cheeks heated, a flush of warmth making you want to lean into him too.
“Possession is nine tenths the law,” he murmured, “and as far as I can tell, I’m in possession of it.”
You struggled against his hold, surprised when his arms tightened. You were practically pressed up against his body, his warmth seeping into your body. For such a scrawny man, he was so solid, strong enough to keep you from breaking away. Your giggles were soft, even to your own ears, and while this wasn’t what you’d been expecting, you never turned away from when Lars turned playful, despite how few and far between it was.
His chuckle was soft in your ear, holding you in place as you tried to get free. Caught against him you could smell the copper of the wiring and the laundry detergent clinging to his shirt. You pressed your face to his chest, trying to stifle your laughter but couldn’t. He froze for just a moment before he melted, his hold almost turning into an embrace.
“What’s this?”
You peeked around Lars, finding your younger brother staring at the two of you, a look of confusion and disgust mingling on his face. Pulling away, you put space between the two of you, feeling like a teenager caught by your parents with your boyfriend. A chill settled over you and you snatched the soldering iron from the bench, forgotten in your struggle with Lars.
“Lars is a rotten thief,” you said.
“Yes because I hug all the criminals I come across,” he said, his dry sarcasm only making your cheeks heat further.
“We weren’t hugging. I was… being restrained,” you said, struggling to find the words.
You couldn’t even look at the taller man, still standing so close to you. If you did, you were going to die of embarrassment.
“Right, well, now I’ve got this I’m going to…” You indicated over your shoulder with your thumb, “stop stealing my stuff.”
“Company property,” he muttered just loud enough for you to hear.
You didn’t acknowledge him as you slunk back to your own work.
Some time passed and you could still feel the ghost of his arms around your body, pinning your arms, his warmth still burnt into your brain. It left you feeling breathless, barely able to concentrate on your work. Which was increasingly becoming a problem with him. You were so distracted by him.
“So.”
You startled, so lost in thought you hadn’t heard your brother approach. He slid onto the stool beside you, resting his elbows on the bench. You ignored him, using the soldering iron you’d stolen back from Lars.
“What’s going on with you and the nerd?” he asked.
“No idea what you’re talking about,” you replied.
“Really? You looked pretty close earlier,” he said.
“You mean like you and Lucky?” You shot him a look, watching his shift uncomfortably in his seat, “because I’m pretty sure you say nothing is going on there too.”
While you let him struggle with the conundrum you’d put him in, you went back to your work. You’d lost enough time thinking about Lars and had to make it up.
A steaming mug was slid in front of you and when you looked up blue eyes were looking down to you. Curling a hand around it, your lips quirked up.
“Chocolate or crips?” Lars asked.
“Chocolate,” you replied.
“Too bad. I only have crisps,” he said, tossing a packet on the table in front of you.
“Duble bluff, I love potato chips,” you said, opening the bag of chips, offering him a grin.
“Hoover,” he chastised but there was fondness there. You basked in it, the little private smile you seemed to draw out in him.
“Since when do you drink tea?” Trevor asked, reminding you he was still there.
“A while now,” you replied.
“You don’t even like tea,” he said.
“Sure I do,” you countered.
You took a sip from the mug as if to prove your point. It was still too hot, burning your tongue. You kept your wince inside, giving your younger brother a pointed look. Lars snorted at your shoulder, stealing one of your potato chips before leaving you, hand squeezing your shoulder as he took his leave.
Usually he’d sit with you as you drank your tea and disappointment swooped in your stomach. Clearly he wasn’t interested in sitting with your brother as well. A spike of resentment at his continued presence was a surprise to you.
“You’re only pretending to like tea,” Trevor hissed.
“You have no idea what you’re talking about,” you snapped back.
“You want to impress him,” he said.
“I doubt drinking tea is what would impress him,” you said, taking another of the hot drink in your hands.
“So you have thought about it?” he was quick to ask.
“Don’t you have someone else to annoy?” you asked, “Lucky perhaps.”
“You don’t want to talk about it,” he said, as if it was a gotcha moment.
“How about you ask Lars about it? I’m sure that will go well,” you said with a roll of your eyes.
“Good idea.”
He hopped off the stool and you were grateful to be left alone. Especially since you knew Lars wouldn’t stand for having your friendship questioned by your baby brother. Sarcasm and wit were his weapons and you knew your brother would be eviscerated.
When you took your mug into the kitchen to wash up you found Lars already there, head bowed and faucet running. You snuck up behind him on tip toes, keeping as quiet as possible.
“Boo,” you whispered, right in his ear.
He jumped, whirling around towards you, a clatter of a dropped mug in the sink. Wet hands landed on your waist and for a moment you weren’t sure if he was going to shove you away or pull you closer. His brow furrowed as he looked down at you, hands tightening on you.
“Easily scared there, Pinfield?” you asked, lips pulling up into a smirk.
“You’re a terror,” he said but there was no fire behind it.
The way he was looking at you was making your heart flutter. The softness in his eyes, the small smile on his lips, the warmth of his palms seeping through your cotton t-shirt. Your teeth sunk into your lip and it looked as if his eyes darted down to it, darkening for a moment.
“What’s going on in here?”
You jerked out of his hold, wet patches showing through on your shirt. Lucky was leaning on the doorframe, arms crossed, raised eyebrow. Once again heat rose in your cheeks and you had to turn away, hip checking Lars out of the way from the sink. He plucked the mug from your hand, manoeuvring you out of the way again.
“Crickets,” Lucky said, sauntering in.
“Because there’s nothing to say,” Lars said, slow to begin washing the mug he’d brought you.
“Looked like something was going on,” she said.
You rolled your eyes, shoulder brushing against his as you shifted your weight from one foot to the other. His head twitched in your direction but his eyes were trained on the mug in his hands.
“Yeah, this is convincing,” she said.
“Nothing was going on,” Lars said, voice a touch harsh.
You looked down, not wanting anyone to see the disappointment you felt at his words. You knew you’d been saying the same thing to Trevor but it sounded so much worse in his voice. Especially when the outline of his hands were still on your shirt.
“And you’re sticking to that story, are you?”
His shoulder brushed yours again and when you looked towards him, blue eyes were already looking back to you. You couldn’t read the expression on his face but you could take the mug in his hand, fingers brushing together. You placed it on the drying rack.
“Mm hm,” Lucky hummed.
“I’m not having this discussion again,” you said to her, “ask Trevor. I’m sure he’ll enjoy spilling the details to you.”
You stalked out of the room, not sure how you felt. A mix of emotions were going through your brain and all you knew was that you wanted Lars to follow you. Sometimes it felt like you always wanted him around.
“Seems as if people around here don’t have enough work to do if they’re talking about us.”
Lars had followed you. You pressed your lips together to keep the smile from spreading over your face. You’d walked into one of the deserted parts of the lab, not wanting to have to school your features with your emotions. Now the walls felt closer having him just behind you.
“They’re meddling,” you said, turning to look at him.
He was closer than you’d been expecting, barely a step behind you. You had to tilt your head up to look him in the eye. He lent towards you, almost hunching his shoulders to be closer.
“They have no right to do that,” he said and you couldn’t tell if he was upset.
“Yeah, I mean, this is between us. Like, our relationship is no one’s business. We’re friend so they don’t need to get involved. It’s not comment worthy,” you said, not quite sure what you were trying to say.
“Exactly. There’s nothing odd about us being friends,” he said.
You stepped back, leaning against the wall. In the isolation of the corner, it felt as if the rest of the world was so far away. It was easy to forget other people existed and somehow that made it worse. Talking about being friends with the man who haunted your thoughts made your stomach roil.
“Fuck it,” he muttered to himself.
He took the step towards you. Something in his eyes burned and you felt your breath catch when he looked down at you. Chin tilted down, staring straight at you, your entire body heated. If he was looking to make you burst into flames, he was going about it the right way. You looked up at him, lips parted as you waited for him to do more.
Swooping down, he claimed your lips in a searing kiss. You gasped, hands reaching up, grasping at him. His hands were back on your waist, pressing you against the wall as his body came to rest against yours. His tongue swept along your bottom lip before he sucked it into his mouth. You moaned, fingers burying themselves in blond curls, arching against him.
He groaned into your mouth, and when his tongue brushed against yours, your nerve endings sang. You shuddered, tugging on his curls until his leg slipped between yours and his teeth sunk into your bottom lip. His hands were holding you tight enough to leave bruises and you were sinking into him.
The rest of the world didn’t exist. You lost yourself in him. It was hot, the way he kissed you like you were the very breath he needed to live. Pressed so close together, there was no space between your bodies, nothing stopping you from feeling every taut line pressed to your every curve.
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted this?” he asked, lips trailing down your neck, whispered into your skin.
“Bet I can beat you on that,” you sighed, pressing him closer to you.
“The first time I saw you,” he mumbled, “you walked in here, so beautiful, and I’ve wanted to kiss you since.”
“No,” you said, pushing him away far enough so you could look at him properly.
“No?” He sounded so confused.
“Because that’s how long I’ve wanted to kiss you,” you said, already wanting to kiss him again. He was so gorgeous with his molten eyes and his kiss stung lips and his flushed cheeks.
“You mean we’ve wasted months not doing this?” he asked.
“Plenty of time to make up for it,” you replied, flashing him another smirk.
“I hope you realise I’ve fallen for you,” he said, head tipping forward until his forehead rested against yours.
“Snap,” you said, “because I’ve fallen for you too.”
This time when his lips pressed to yours they were softer, sweeter. You sighed into his mouth, melting from the care he was showing you.
“Ew.”
Typical for your brother to interrupt your sweet moment.
“Go away, Trevor,” you shouted before kissing Lars again.
“You’re both such liars,” he said.
“Leave now or you’ll see something you really don’t want to,” Lars called out.
Footsteps retreated fast and you giggled, falling forward, face resting against his chest. laughter rumbled in his own chest, arms sliding around you in a hug.
“I think you’ve scarred him,” you said, muffled against his chest.
“Serves him right for all the questions he’s been asking,” he muttered.
You looked up into his face, relieved at the smile tugging up the corners of his mouth. The way he looked at you was so soft, like he couldn’t quite believe he was there.
“He was right though,” you said, “something was going on between us.”
“I suppose it was,” he replied.
And when you kissed him again, it definitely felt like something was going on between the two of you.
