Exactly! I think her plan could’ve been just as, if not, MORE effective if she didn’t kill Kiyotaka and only killed Hifumi. For starters, the two already disliked each other, a good start to get a murder to happen. Second, the motive was money, and well, after his grand father’s scandal, his family went into debt that they were still paying to that day! Third, Taka was acting incredibly strange, so it wouldn’t be that far-fetched if he snapped and killed somebody. Plus, blaming Yasuhiro was a bad move because he’s too much of an idiot to actually come up with a murder plot like that.
And let’s say they still wanted a double murder, they could’ve killed Yasuhiro. I love him, but he wasn’t all that useful and he didn’t have as many important moments as the rest of the survivors.
Also, even if they figured out it was Celeste, Kiyotaka should’ve been a survivor! I mean, he deserved it after what he went through! I just wish he got to grow as a character after loosing his first and only friend. Like, he could’ve gotten some major character development, like Fuyuhiko did. He could’ve worn Mondo’s jacket for the rest of the game.
In conclusion, Celeste could’ve got away with it if she didn’t kill Kiyotaka and Kiyotaka deserved to be a survivor.
celes only killed one person, not two, and she needed hifumi alive in order to carry out her plot since she couldn't move bodies herself, her plan also rested on the fact she made the murders look different (the hammers) so she could lead the trial how she wanted it. esp since the last two trials were arguably heat of the moment as opposed to premeditated. why would her trial be any different etcetc
idk she could have literally saved herself the effort by killing hifumi during that part where she went to his room and pin it on ishida by showing the pictures of alter ego in his room which would have helped make him look super suspicious on top of the fact everyone else was super wary of him because of how he was acting
