I found this old greek translation of Alcibiades 1 as a free pdf online and I got it because it had commentary, which I need for my own translation. And the very first comment is:
"the word "erastes" (literally"lover") here only means "very close and dear friend" and not the unethical interpretation many have given it"
Why, my good man. If you cannot handle it, why did you chose to translate plato of all things.
He has translated everything related to love and lovers as "friendship" or "admiration" and "friends" i am losing it.
