I just heard the news and I just can't believe Toriyama passed away.. It's too sudden, too unexpected, something I was definitely NOT prepared to see today and I think I need time to fully process this
RIP Akira Toriyama. Thank you for the great stories and memories you have created for us. Thank you for everything and the huge impact you had and still have on me, you will be dearly missed

Servamp chapter 135 translation "Gold, silver and iron"

This chapter took me a long time to finish because I had to deal with stuff but it's finally done! Still have a few more chapters, so please be patient!
Alright, so here are a few notes.
At first, I wasn't sure if I should have written "silver" but given that Hugh's name is written in katakana because, I would have written "silver" if it said シルバー but since it was the kanji 銀 I left the romanization of the word and made the translation note.
Grandpuppy Gear wants to be a grandpa to his friends' children xD
Speaking of the grandkids, it's curious if Gear met the older Tsukimitsu siblings.
They used the spell "Gatekeeper of Bifrost" to send Mahiru and Kuro to London, Iori telling them to look for the werewolf (Gear)
So, it seems obvious they knew him, but we don't know if they ever met face to face and only know him if C3 had a file on him or perhaps they knew him through their mother. It's plausible that maybe if the siblings would be in trouble, Shirayuki told them to seek help from him.
Just speculating!
Alright moving on, we have our literary reference which I made a post about when the chapter was published.
Also...My God, Hugh looks so handsome!
*Ahem* Okay so the reference we have is mostly likely based on "Flowers for Algernon", because the name of Hugh's ability (the regular reading not the intended one in furigana) says まだ見ぬ友に花束を and the reason I bolded some of the words is because they are the same as the one in the Japanese title of "Flowers for Algernon"
アルジャーノンに花束を
I don't know if まだ見ぬ友 could be related to the book or something else;; Perhaps some of you might know!

one of the limitations of visual novels as a medium is that characters tend to end up standing around and monologuing about whatever's going on -- when done well, it can feel seamless, but sometimes you just gotta suspend your disbelief a little and accept it as part of the experience. that said, the guy standing alone in the middle of a hallway talking to himself about how super excited he is for this juice is my new favorite character.
anyway, these are super quick (mostly just to mess around with brushes), but I really wanted to draw some Tsuminator II: Judgement Day! thank you Twst for proving me wrong every time I think you can't get any more delightfully ridiculous.

The emotional damage that talk between Malleus and Silver gave me cannot be measured with human knowledge.
Silver talks about how Llilia has done everything for him in these past 17 years since he found him - he raised him, fed him, taught him. And now as an adult Silver cannot repay him for all of it cause Lilia wants to leave and live alone. Malleus reply that Lilia truly raised a good son, to which Silver responds that he's not good son at all cause he cannot fulfill he's last wish - to keep a smile for their farewell.
Can we talk about it? Like, Silver, who we know from being the calm and collected character, started bawling in front of his older brother about being scared of loosing his father, while he remains powerless. This scene gave him so much more depth. And as a person with older parents who might be gone any day now it hits too close to home.
Also hearing his voice actor, Shimazaki Nobunaga, who I usually hear voice mostly calm characters (like Silver and Kazuha from genshin impact) giving such a strong performance was a very nice change of pace, even if the topic was so devastating.
Now excuse me, I'll go cry myself too sleep now 🥲
