its very odd being someone whos played vanilla p5 and hasnt met akechi yet in p5r and existing in this fandom at this current point in time. because by now a lot of people have played the royal and have gained all this insight into him.
At this point i feel like i have a different relationship with him in my head than most do now. in the sense that hes still very... unknown to me.
mind you i have seen plenty of p5r spoilers cause i never bothered to block the tag. However,hearing spoilers through fanfic and shitposts isnt the same as experiencing his character in game.
throughout all of vanilla p5 he puts up a front, and then he has a breakdown near the end of the game. his reveal, his death, tells you stuff about him of course, but his emotions are so high, you know that cant be it. and then hes gone and thats it.
i remember, everytime i happened to catch him in leblanc or by the crepe stand i was always mentally begging for him to just stick around. The desperation of please dont give me a meaningless pleasantry and dash. have an actual conversation without your stupid goddamned smoke and mirrors for once. just how fleeting he was.
idk its odd, existing here seeing people do their in depth analysis, and hold him so dearly, knowing him in the way that having the new confident and third semester has allowed them too. and here i am looking at the character who is to me, if you can pardon the pun, still such a phantom of a person.
