the pookification of f1 drivers by tumbelinas and tiktok girls is my fav thing EVER because they will love a driver and criticise THE FUCK out of a team simultaneously.
like dear all the f1 teams on social media that collapsed the social boundaries and created parasocial relationships on crack and genuinely get fucked over daily by teen twitter warriors: you only have yourself to blame.
you thought you were creating a following for the team? no you gave logan sargent a fanbase to rival the US military
The whole “every character is Jin Ling’s uncle” is funny in canon, but can you imagine Jin Ling graduating in a modern au, running around desperately trying to get like twelve extra tickets off of any classmates who might not need all of theirs, only so the most random collection of people you have ever seen in your life can attend—ranging from heirs to multi million dollar companies, to the cheerful man who operates the ‘Root (Vegetables) of All Evil’ produce stand at the local farmers market?
eagerly awaiting the reveal of what political science 101 concept is she going to stop the plot to teach middle schoolers about. we got bread and circuses we got the extended work on thomas hobbes my money is on haymitch starting this book as an objectivist and having to unlearn that in the face of true struggle
he has visible ribs and cheekbones, his limbs are pretty skinny, and Laios' shirt is relatively baggy on him
add in this panel from the mimic fight + a bit of trivia from the Adventurer's Bible
that man is not eating enough! he is malnourished! the dungeon crawling lifestyle has caused Chilchuck to develop disordered eating habits, if not a full on ED!!
I’m still wondering what Valentino could’ve meant when he said "someone who owes us much more than money"…
Did Alastor just destroy their reputation by not joining them? Or did they have to deal with Vox’s broken heart, to the point where he was unbearable to be around for a long time? Or some mysterious, third option, where Alastor used their help and still has a debt to pay? Or all of the above??
I feel like Alastor never appearing anywhere near Valentino has some potential for extra depth in their backstory, aside from the usual "he just finds Val disgusting". Maybe he blames Val for having bad influence on Vox, until he spoils him completely and brings out the side of him that Alastor won’t tolerate anymore. Meanwhile, Vox finds Val’s company refreshing, but fails to notice how his friendship with Alastor starts to fall apart.
Complicated and sad, indeed.
