just had a thought about how raella's patron might be feeling like... you have some type of contract with a bhaalspawn/chosen of bhaal. and it's either incredibly lucky or headache indusing hahsgshahga
oc thoughts under the cut <33
now that I'm thinking about raella 24/7, I thought about making her the durge instead of morana.
I feel like morana's story is good without the whole dark urge subplot to it, and it honestly feels like too much with it to me tbh. a lot of things are happening to morana as is, so there's really no need to add the dark urge plot to it, but it suits raella really well.
her and ilya's family is fucked up in their own wa; their parents had trouble having children (ilya is an illegitimate child of their mother's affair so they are out of question), so when raella appeared on their doorstep, they took her in, thinking they could pass her off as their won daughter and shape her to be an heir that the family needs, but everything went not as well as anyone wanted. raella's mother decided to kill her husband to usurp the power and frame raella for it, because who is a better candidate to take blame than your daughter with frequent violent thoughtful and outbursts? right, no one.
after that, she was left all alone, and that's when she found herself as the head of the cult of bhaal.
