one of the things I really really like about mithrun's design is that ryoko kui could have given him an eyepatch easily. he's a captain of an elite elven force that takes orders directly from their queen, etc etc, she could have easily made him have a Cool Eyepatch. maybe shown his face once and then covered it up. fuck, even just have hair in front of it all the time, that would also have been fairly easy.
instead, she has given him a lazy eye and therefore an assymetrical face. the kind of face some people would be uncomfortable looking at in real life. and she showed him. all the time. looking straight out of the page, yes, but also in the background and in dialogues and in comedic moments and she showed his expressions and it's just special to me
edit: not a lazy eye but a prosthetic one! which is even cooler! god I fucking love mithrun what a guy

I may be wrong and need to re-read the story, but I'm still a bit surprised and amused by the fact that Mithrun gives at first the impression of someone who doesn't give a flying fuck about the people around him, like when he just describes his team by their "utility" ('Scout', 'Werewolf') or the terrible deformed copy of Kabru with the shape-shifter incident.
And yet, he was able to info dumb so much details about his past relations to the point that Kabru found it "too complicated".
And during the story, he, he shows great analysis/intuition skills!
Just a random thought, tho, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
#judging by the past mithrun his social intelligence is off the charts (along with all other types of intelligence)#but back then he cared about what other people thought of him. now he just. doesn't.#but the skills aren't gone#dungeon meshi#dungeon meshi spoilers#mithrun
