oh!! something i think might be obvious but i think is neat is how the song christ is more angsty (i think there’s better word for what i mean but i can’t remember it and angsty is all i got) when jesus christ is all about salvation and stuff, and judas is a lot more like. self accepting? with the whole “march on you continue to live” and stuff when judas was a traitor to jesus and took his life out of guilt. the name song name judas and the line in the song “do betray” too. im sure theres a better way of putting this into words than what i’m saying but like. i have a whole Thing with religion but also love religious imagery and its something i think about a lot and i really like it. i hope im making sense lol, thats all :]

I wish we got more from Ote with how much that plot centers around him, but I also have a Thing with religion and love religious imagery so I go crazy enough over him as it is. I love the dichotomy between the two that you noted, and to add on I love how well it works with how cults are. I was in a cult growing up myself, and a huge theme with them is reversing what things are. Jesus represents peace and holiness for most, the more "right" side, which leaves Ote going along with his beastly nature and angstiness; while Judas, the "villain" of sorts, has him accepting himself and more at peace with the world. I interpret Judas to take place after his parents and Ito have died, and after he has left their cult

I really need to listen to Graveyard/Stage Lights more tbh. They were very good but I am a Teto hater and I enjoy songs more with translations :') someday

hii i’ve been listening to abuse for a little while now and i really like his music but do you happen know where i should start to find out the lore though? i dont see much talk abt his music here but i’d like to learn i like learning lore :3
Hi :) honestly a lot of the lore is just looking at the songs/PVs. Some have stand-alone stories (Iesu, Firewater, Bush, etc), while others have several connected songs. The most popular and expanded-upon of the latter is a plot centered around four characters. The one-off songs are easiest because they're shorter, but if you do better with more information, I'd reccomend the most popular one as it also gives you context for Abuse's beastmen (most of the characters are beastmen in all of his songs)
For this series, please listen to/watch Want to be Cremated, Wedding Festival, and Flowers Mountains and Funerals. These songs center around two of the characters, Zoy and Franny, who are the parents of Ote. Ote's songs are Christ and Judas. And Ito, who grew up alongside Ote, has the songs Dear Suns, Flower War, and Yellow Papa. I am so obsessed with this story so feel free to ask for a brief summary if you end up struggling with it :)
I'm also roughly translating short stories/notes Abuse has written here
As a note, a lot of what I post here is me working out the lore/headcanons/theories to connect all the plots and should not be taken as inherently canon

Imma be real I think this song is a little overrated. I love it so much but why is it the only one people know half the time. So kinnable tho tbh
I never see anyone interpret it as anything but Suicidal, but oh my god it fits Franny so well. The themes of fireworks we often see with her, the discussion of what could be her pregnacy with Ote, idk if it was Abuse's intention, but it works so well it's what I've decided to run with

Not one I listen to on loop unlike most of Abuse's discography, but fuck is it a banger. I do love the little tie-in with Flower War there, Ito and Ote are my favorite little scrunglies
There's not a whole lot going on lore-wise in this one besides more of Ote's perspective. I like in some ways that's it's not as teenage angst-y as Christ is, it gives him a lot more emotional depth that he can also accept people's slander and move on with his day because he's so used to it. Mmmmmm

I love this song and its remix so much omg. The rhythm of the song is phenomenal, I love the piano backing, and the wordplay in the chorus is a good display of Abuse's lyrical genius
I'm still working out how I think this one ties into the lore, but I love the little character. The way I interpret it, our main character (dark hair) is jealous of the light haired girl and is encouraged into stealing her body part by part. Most of his works can be tied into the cult if I try hard enough, so I'm sort of picturing a situation somewhere between Nirvana(Hanamuke)'s and Ito's where she joins later in life and is slowly brainwashed into violence on behalf of Zoy
