The "Do what makes you happy" culture is so toxic for Christians.

We are NOT called to do what makes us happy. We're called to do what glorifies God.

Christianity isn't always sunshine and happiness. It's hard work and dedication to Him, not us.

Do what makes you Holy

Do. What. Glorifies. God.

Always try to leave people better than you found them.

Hug the hurt

Kiss the broken

Befriend the lost

Love the lonely

Consider the fact that maybe God closed that door because he knew you were worth so much more.

Put God first at all times

Focus your relationship with God and build it

It's ok not to fit in groups that talk about wordly things. Live like Christ and don't indulge in secular activities

Don't be ashamed of the Gospel (Rom 1:16)

Spread the Gospel wherever you go!

Don't give up in life. Know that God has good plans for you and not evil plans (Jeremiah 29:11)

The people you hang out with really matter!

Make friends with godly friends. Pray to God for godly friends.

"God called you to be you. Not her." I find myself always wanting to change. Change how my hair looks. How my room looks. How my Bible pages look. How much makeup I wear. Wait, she doesn't wear makeup, should I? These swarming thoughts make me change who I am for the world. I want a better aesthetic, so let's read my Bible to take a better picture. Oh my gosh, my calligraphy sucks compared to hers. She has so many clothes, I better buy some more. It's a never-ending trap that the devil delights in putting girls through. "Well, maybe you're not enough because you don't have the same number of followers, blonde hair, or a nice Bible" is what Satan tells us. But we need to take a stance. we don't need to conform to the ways of this world. I can tell you; God does not care if your walls are green and messy, and your Bible isn't cute. He wants your heart. He wants the messy girl whose heart is all over the place but still calls, "Abba, Father". So next time, don't let Satan win. Laugh and know that you have a Father who defines your worth, not this world. And to Him, you are enough. You are enough because of Him.

The Holy Spirit will warn you. But you have to pay attention.

Christianity is not a Bible verse tattooed on your arm. Christianity is not a cute Hillsong lyric. Christianity is not the one line in your Instagram bio. Christianity is actively dying to yourself and living for Christ.

In my opinion, it shows maturity when you can spend time with God even when it feels "boring". Pushing past your feelings, because you know that God is worthy despite what you "feel".

God has to be first
