On September 25, 1969, Richard Avedon made his first wall-sized mural portrait of the Chicago Seven. It was first exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in the summer of 1970 and has since been exhibited in museums around the world. Avedon called the group of defendants "heroic". The Avedon photo was used in thank you cards, holiday greetings, and fundraising requests sent to supporters.This is one of the holiday greetings/fundraising requests sent to supporters. The seven signatures are in the printing plate.
