Is this not digital blackface?: No, Misery is a character and I am a person. Misery is not what I look like and I never claimed she is what I look like.
Don't you also go by Misery tho?: Yeah in a few places
So is that not super confusing???: Yeah, the people I give a shit about know my irl name, what I look like irl, and know the difference between Misery the character and Misery the artist (artist lol). I don't care if you don't know the difference that's on you.
Someone else said you're doing digital blackface: Misery is fantasy Iroquois. Her physical appearance is based on a collection of people I love IRL and a celebrity I genuinely cannot think of the name of but I will update when I find her again* and based on her fantasy homeland (she's from the dessert 💀 btw if you care; it's related to her patron Arcana). As far as I'm aware the group claiming this is pissed bc they got meme'd on (by me) for trying to claim someone else was white washing Asra based on a clipping layer mistake.
(* this is not a cop out I genuinely do not remember. I'm unmedicated and was gaslit all my life I don't remember anything unless I write it down and I fucking didn't bc I'm fucking stupid)
What makes you an expert on all this??: I'm not an expert but other than my lived experiences (including attending Indian Day school, experiencing violent racism based what I look like, and systemic racism at the hands of my government) part of my job involves inclusive policy writing. I attend an average of 6 conferences a month on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and sit on an advisory committee for accessibility issues (which is obviously different from race issues but we specifically consider and talk about race when considering accessibility concerns). I'm always working towards updating our policies and practices based on new information, studies, polls, etc. I'm not fucking stupid, I know what I'm talking about OR I seek to educate myself and change my opinions based on new information.
Why is Misery a different shade of brown in like every pic you draw of her?: TO BE HONEST I'm just not a super great artist sorry. Her face is different in every pic too idk why you're looking for perfection here.
Why arent you addressing x,y,z?: Because I either don't know enough about the topic, wasn't specifically asked, or it's unrelated. You can't cover every subtopic for a topic and frankly it would have fallen on deaf ears (blind eyes? Idk). It's not a gotcha to be like "oh you talked about X but NOT Y? SEEMS SUSPECT". This is a logical fallacy and is an example of a poor grasp of or purposefully misrepresenting the issue.
But you started it: I made a post that said "H-h hoes mad 😭" and also casually asked someone to stop fetishizing Nadia after the white washing accusations started. I also made a poll asking why people are going to cancel me and it was very funny, I had lots of fun. I stand by all of this. I didn't attack anyone for not being x enough and I didnt call anyone a racist. Did I say people were speaking like a colonizer? lmao yes of course I did because they were.

But race and ethnicity are different: Yeah. Race is narrow and Ethnicity is broad. Racially I'm Indigenous/Native American, Ethnically I'm Iroquois. I'm not white and I'm not claiming to be white sorry lmao. When I said I'm brown in the summer and white in the winter I mean skin colour not fucking racially lmao. EVEN THEN I'm speaking comparably. It would have made more sense to say brown and less brown but I'm not saying that fuck yourself.
So why are you addressing this at all?: Because it's very funny
