Am I late to the Barbie meme?
Shower thought turned into a diptych called "Aftermath of a Barfight on Niamos Started by a Baby Who Did Nothing Wrong Ever".
Two weeks of merch designs has me churning doodles out faster than ever. I'll post the finished stuff later in the week if I don't die from all the OT I have to work to make up for the long holiday weekend.

ok yes this season could have included din more and focused on his relationship with the creed and what it means now that he has the darksaber and given us a few more sprinkles of angst instead of brushing over one of dins biggest struggles
but at least we have paz

Its not as simple as Din should or should not be Mandalore. It's that there has been absoutely no consistency. Nothing previously set up has been paid off, plot lines are skipped over entierly, the tone of this season is drastically different episode to episode. And characterization is all over the place.
Nothing was explored in a meaningful manner especially things set up in season 2. Season 2 basically didnt happen according to the plot of season 3 beacuse none of what mattered there had consequences here.
Its not we wanted Din to rule blindly.
Its that the journey to get to this point has been extremely poor storytelling and lacks any kind of consistent characterization or thematic focus.
Din doesn't have to rule, but we have had absolutely no exploration of how he feels about that beyond the very end of season 2 and this episode.
If you enjoy the choices made, fine. But I and others are perfectly valid in out disappointment. I don't need a story to do exactly what I want to like it.
But I sure as hell need it to be consistent.
And this is a scattered inconsistent season.

we’ve lost all hope of Luke teaching Din to use the darksaber

I’m not gonna like it if by the end of this season or the next, they suddenly turn around and start giving Din attention again or put him into the helm of Mand’alor again.
They had a great setup from season 2. Everything that a Mandalorian needed to be king, Din had. Everything Mandalorian’s wanted from a king, Din had.
Why did they not explore any of that? Why is this season focused so much on bo, that all the foreshadowing and hints have been completely for nothing?
They’ve wasted an entire season, because Din should’ve been the focus from the beginning.

din had such a good set up- winning the darksaber from one of Mandalores biggest enemies. Getting a royal ship. Wearing pure beskar armour.
I think we all like the trope of reluctant king and from what we see in this ep and previous ones is that Din actually can communicate effectively with other species and settle disputes. He also literally the covert get land in Nevarro so they’re not dying from a giant lizard everyday.
He just had so much potential and I’m pissed they haven’t explored him being a ruler and focused on Bo instead.

it’s not that i don’t like this season, because i DO! ep 5 was one of the best yet
but what’s happening with din? we’re halfway through the season and we’ve finally gotten an actual plot point that hasn’t been resolved in 2 eps.
dins redemption should’ve taken longer and we all know it. how could they - have him take off his helmet twice for grogu, earn the darksaber and have a fistfight with paz for said darksaber whilst also being called an apostate- and have him be all back and nice with the clan within 3 episodes. how is din not questioning a single thing?! why do we not see any confusion or fustration or ANYTHING??!

Din Djarin might like to be the side character. That doesn't mean the writers have to take him seriously. I want him to be the main character. I miss all the side quests with just him and his son.
