A note about Alfred's Swedish:
"Vad är ditt namn?" is not TECHNICALLY wrong, but sounds weird to/from someone whose native language is supposed to be Swedish, (like Alfred in this AU). Mainly because you can tell it's basically a literal translation of "What's your name?" . So what do we use then? In Swedish we have and use the verb 'heter' , the same one you have correctly used earlier in "Jag heter Alfred."
The English language uses the word "name" only as a noun, but we have two words for it in Swedish. "Heter" is the verb, while "namn" is the noun. Because of this "My name is Alfred" would have been "Mitt namn är Alfred" if you did a more literal translation into Swedish. Just like with "Vad är ditt namn?" it's not TECHNICALLY wrong - but it'd usually sound weird if a Swedish native speaker used "Mitt namn är-" instead of "Jag heter-".
Jag/du heter : I/You (am/are) name(d)- Jag/du hette : I/You (was/were) name(d)- Jag/du har hetat: I/You (have been) name(d)- Jag/du kommer heta: I/You will (be) name(d)-
So, because of this a little more literal translation of "Jag heter Alfred" would be "I'm name(d) Alfred" in English.
Just like my Swedish example above, "I'm named Alfred" is not TECHNICALLY wrong in English - but it's not the way most people would say it if you're an English native speaker. In English, you'd more likely to say: "My name is Alfred."
. - - -
So again, "Vad är ditt namn?" is not TECHNICALLY wrong in Swedish, but the sentence would sound weird coming from someone who is supposed to be a native speaker in the AU. A native speaker would be more likely to say "Vad heter du?" , which if you translate it more literally is closer to: "What name(d) (are) you?"
.
[ Apologies for long talk and how Swedish sentences are built different than English. I just find the differences interesting.] xD

hey! so, my name is Alfred, what's yours?
huh?…mm…Marius…

Berwald has been offered a good paying job in Norway, leading to him and his son Alfred moving there. They move into an apartment and they both have to adjust to this new life in a foreign country. But, Alfred isn't shy! so he has no problems making new friends. The only thing preventing him is; the other kids in kindergarten thinks Alfred is speaking weird. They don't quite understand him, which leads to him being “the odd one out” that no one wants to play with. Alfred eventually gets used to play by himself, but it sucks. He gets easily upset when he's at home and he doesn't really tell his dad what's going on. Until one day, when a new boy starts in his kindergarten. The new boy is shy and doesn't really talk much, Alfred is curious about this new kid and wants to befriend him! He walks over to him and asks him if he wants to play. At first he is hesitant, but eventually they start getting along. Alfred finds out that his name is Marius and that he just moved into the area with his dad. Alfred can relate to him a lot, he knows what it's like being the new kid, and seeing him play all by himself reminds Alfred of his own situation. Alfred takes the initiative and starts playing with him every day. Eventually, both Marius dad and Berwald meet each other when picking up their boys. They see their boys playing together and they catch up on how much they talk about each other while at home. Alfred is constantly telling his dad about how fun it is playing with Marius and what they did in kindergarten etc.
Alfred and Marius becomes best friends and they start hanging out outside of kindergarten as well. This leads to their dads also forming some sort of friendship, which is good for Berwalds sake as he had no friends in Norway he could talk to. Their houses only a 10 min drive away from each other, Berwald will often invite Marius dad, Magnus, over for coffee and have a chat with him while their children play. As the years goes by and Alfred and Marius starts elementary school, Berwald and Magnus starts noticing how much Al and Ma actually look like each other. To the point where it's almost scary…is it a coincidence? or is there a deeper explanation for this?
as the boys grow a bit older, they find out through dna testing that Alfred and Marius, are in fact; twin brothers.
but how could all of this happen? and what does this mean for their future?
-
Berwald = Sweden (Alfred’s dad)
Alfred = America (Berwald’s son)
Marius = Canada (Magnus son)
Magnus = Norway (Marius dad)

(remember, as always; do not tag as ship!)
I ask of you to NOT repost/screenshot or use my art in any way ever. please, I was very hesitant to post this in the first place. Thank you for being respectful and understanding🤍
