He takes the faux knife within his hand, now taking a step back. It wasn't exactly two feet of space but it was better than before. At least now he was hardly hovering as much. ❛ Watch, ‘cause I'm not showing you again. ❜ He definitely would, as many times as it took to ensure his movie would look good. There's a sigh before his demonstration begins again.
she wanted this to be perfect and she knew richie did too. quinn felt bad that he had to show her so many times, but it wasn’t a huge deal. they weren’t crunched for time and there was no producer breathing down their necks. it was a real movie, but it wasn’t a real movie. she shot her brother a look as he continued to hover. “just show me, okay?” she planned to get it on the next try just to spite him. quinn picked up the knife and handed it to him, handle side first like it was real. “and give me like two feet of space, dude.”

There's a vague shrug of his shoulders, now moving along to admire his own collection. This whole thing was a labor of love, each piece meticulously organized and staged to present in the best possible way. Surely it showed when one looked at everything. ❛ A few articles of clothing, some limited release merchandise from when the movies came out. Nothing too major in the grand scheme of things but, I think having it would really elevate everything. ❜ He will lightly drag his fingers across the edge of one of the glass cases, peering in at the contents inside. How could Hughie not see how wonderful this all was?
❛ I might end up moving a few things around, reorganizing the layout. It's still a big work in progress, always has been. I've been working on this with Wayne since we were young. ❜
Obviously Richie has mistaken Hughie's shock and horror for shock and awe. Hughie's relieved in a way because it gives him time to scramble his thoughts together because what the actual fuck. How could he not see how insane this was? Richie had always been a little too invested in the Stab franchise and Hughie had never brought up how uncomfortable it made him with the movies being based off of real life murders; but he hadn't thought that he was this obsessed.
A good start?! How far was Richie planning on taking this?! The collection was already insanely huge, so big he had to rent a fucking cinema just to hold it. Hughie's collection of supe stuff had fit in his room. Richie had to go into real estate for his. "What... stuff is missing?" Hughie asked slowly, not entirely sure he actually wanted the answer.

“if quinn’s home, i’ll ask her.” quinn would probably be a little bit more gentle, plus she had locker room drama to catch her sister up on. “yeah sure,” not driving aimlessly sounded like a good idea. she held her palm out for his phone, and when she got it, she started to type in the password.“i remember it,” charlie assured him with a laugh. it wasn’t hard to remember. actually, she was pretty sure she could have guessed it if she was just one of his friends. of course his password was stab related.

"I know," he says. "But I can be pretty stubborn. I'll figure something out... but if everyone’s a suspect, shouldn’t I be keeping my plans to myself?"

His smile cannot help but widen at his brother’s response, a bit of laughter coming forth. ❛ Shit, okay, I like the honesty. Most people would’ve said they’re doing great just to save face so, it’s a nice change of pace. ❜ “It's... been a crazy few months.” That didn't sound good. ❛ Do you want to… talk about it? Figure that’s part of catching up, right? ❜ Then the question is turned around on him, asking about how he’s doing. There's a mirrored shrug of his shoulders now. ❛ I’ve been okay, for the most part. Staying busy with work and personal projects, nothing too interesting. ❜
Right, Hughie wouldn’t know what his personal projects were. They may be family but it was like talking to a stranger. He’d have to explain further if he wanted to make any sense. ❛ I make, uh, fan films and other short films. It takes up a lot of my time, to be honest. If I’m not working, that’s usually what I’m doing. Writing scripts, buying supplies, actually filming and then editing. I’m not doing it entirely alone, Ethan and Quinn help from time to time. But, they're still in school so I can't take up all their free time. ❜ A pause, realization hitting. Shit, that was another thing to explain.
It was so early in the conversation, should he really be dropping this bombshell already? ❛ That’s, uh… That’s another thing we have to talk about. Ethan and Quinn, I mean. ❜
They disentangle from each other and Hughie takes in the sight of his twin once again, the t-shirt and button up combo that they had both adopted, completely independently of each other. Does Richie wear that combo as incessantly as Hughie does? Or is it just a coincidence that on today of all days they've donned the same style of dress? Richie's smiling and Hughie can't help but return it, because this feels so good, so right. Like this was how it should have been all along.
Hughie follows Richie's lead, taking the seat opposite him. Richie falters but it doesn't feel awkward. It's more a question of where to begin. They have over two decades of life to catch up on and neither were prepared for such a monumental conversation.
Hughie laughs as well, though it comes out louder and harder than it should. He isn't necessarily nervous, more high strung. The emotions are running high, making him more awkward than usual.
"Uh... No?" He gives an awkward gin, alongside a shrug. He really has no idea how to explain that he's managed to stumble into an anti-supe vigilante group after A-Train accidentally murdered his girlfriend. "It's... been a crazy few months.. Um, but, what about you? Are you doing okay?"
