Bert I Gordon who gave us many good b movies ; earth vs the spider , the amazing colossal man, food of the gods , beginning of the end , empire of the ants and then his best which was the magic sword in 1962. Now for the bad news , village of the giants which is very very loosely adapted from an H.G. Wells novel . There is however a good cast; Tommy Kirk , Ronny Howard , Beau Bridges, And Tim Rooney ( son of Mickey ) the music on the soundtrack was used again for Death proof in 2008, the special effects are very bad. The budget was low. I would consider this to be the worst Bert I Gordon movie second only to the cyclops 1957. This makes food of the gods 1976 look like citizen Kane . Truly bad bad movie but a riot to watch and good on . This was made in 1966.

As a quick grab in to cash in the success of Ray Harryhausen’s 7th voyage of sinbad from 1957 which is a masterpiece. Edward Small who turned it down ,saw the success of 7th Voyage of sinbad and made Jack the giant killer with 2 of the actors from 7th Voyage, Kerwin Matthews and Toruń Thatcher, but not the talents of Ray Harryhausen. Instead it’s Jim Danforth animation which is ok but pales on comparison to the sinbad movie. It’s not a bad movie but take it as it is . It’s a cash in on sinbad . Even the giant resembles the cyclops ftom 7th voyage . Except it has 2 eyes . This is more of a children’s movie. It was remade in 2013 and then of course the asylum company did their usual cash in made for the sci fi channel . The asylum company is notorious for doing their own low budget versions of mainstream movies .

A cure for insomnia creation of the humanoids 1962 is a very boring but there are some parts that are interesting and warn us of Artificial Intelligence and this is back in 1962 . The makeup on the humanoids is very impressive and there is this eerie music throughout the movie . Don Megowan who played the creature in the final black lagoon feature : creature walks among us and also as the Frankenstein monster in the tv pilot tales of Frankenstein that was supposed to be a tv series . As for creation of the humanoids I first saw this on creature features back on tv as a kid . And the only thing that stuck out was the robots in the beginning and the scientist with the large forehead called Dr Raven .

Talk about a really bad vile gross movie 1987’s The Curse stars : Will Wheaton, Claude Atkins, Cooper Huckabee, and John Schneider. A meteor crashes near a farm of mean bible thumping stepfather ( Atkins) of a boy ( Wheaton) who is constantly being bullied by his stepbrother who is a real jerk . Well the meteorite contaminates the water and poisons the the crops . And there are gross out scenes and gooey gross things happening to the family , except the boy ( Wheaton ) and his little sister .the mother is the first that gets infected and goes mad and gets deformed as well. As does the stepfather and the stepbrother .

What the hell ? Seems to be a new trend in making horror slasher movies out of childhood classics . Winnie the Pooh blood and honey 2023 is another one of them hybrid abominations made by people who probably hate kids , who knows . I suffered watching this on the peacock channel. This ruffled the old NBC peacock to shed its feathers. The other one on peacock I refuse to even talk about is cannibal holocaust which is equally sadistic and banal. So why did I watch blood and honey ? I was curious to see how low theses filmmakers would go to make a slasher movie based on the beloved characters pooh and piglet , of course their first victim is Christopher Robin who left them alone in the 100 acres woods to go to college. However they both torture him, kill his girlfriend. And a group of twenty something girls all staying at a cabin in the woods . This is a very bad movie. It’s sick, gross, bloody and very mean spirited.all involved in this should be committed. Again why did I watch this ? I feel scarred for life. So what’s next Charlie Brown ax murderer ? Bugs bunny with a chainsaw?

Another really awfull movie from the infamous Jerry Warren, who did teenage zombies and the incredible petrified world on shoestring budgets . This one face of the screaming werewolf i1964 is actually two unrelated Mexican movies spliced together by Warren to an hour running time . Actually this doesn’t make any sense a mummy turning into a werewolf . One good thing the werewolf makeup resembles the universal Wolfman. Lon Chaney JR in one of the worst movies he has made doesn’t have any dialogue, The other plot is about an Aztec mummy, so there’s 2 mummy’s, one Aztec the other from the unrelated movie is an American who just happens to be in a mummy box . Was Jerry Warren drunk when he put these two movies together ? It’s like another movie they saved Hitlers brain 1964, in the tv cut they spliced 1968 footage into the plot and anyone can guess the difference in continuity. I thought the howling 2 was bad . This is worse . This is by the way in public domain on you tube but quality wise it’s a very bad print. Bad movie bad print . The only saving grace is the Wolfman make up .

Howling 2 your sister is a werewolf 1985 is possibly the worst werewolf movie ever made . And a waste of good talent like Sir Christopher Lee who plays a werewolf hunter, buxom Sybil Danning plays the queen of werewolves. This is a poor sequel to the very good well made The Howling 1981 by Joe Dante. What an embarrassment and mess howling 2 is. The werewolf effects are poor and some scenes of actors wearing masks. Annie McEnroe a reporter joins Reb Brown who is the brother of the character karen who was shot at the end of the howling during a news story. And no Dee Wallace did not reprise her role as karen. Howling 2 could’ve been a good movie if it had a different story, good werewolf effects. And returning cast members from the first one. This rivals the exorcist sequel the heretic as the worst sequel ever . I have met actress Sybil Danning at a monsterama convention and she was signing posters of howling 2 and the better movies she’s done .as for Christopher Lee this had to be a paycheck movie because he was a great actor and was wasted in this very poor movie . The howling you hear is from the audience howling for a refund.

Untamed women 1952 is a matinee movie featuring glamorous cave women and animals with modifications to look like dinosaurs . Actually stock footage used over and over from one million years BC 1940. Armadillos with plastic horns, elephants with plastic tusks and fur, iguanas and lizards, etc: the simple plot a military bomber place crashes and the four surviving soldiers led by Mikel Conrad wash up on an island, cavewomen courtesy of max factor , and then an attacking group of hairy Neanderthal men, it’s silly stuff mindless entertainment. And a reminder how movies used to be without big budgets and special effects, I wonder if this movie ended up on MST3000?the running time is about an hour and a few minutes . Made as a Second billed feature.

Irwin Allen the director and producer of disaster movies like Poseidon adventure , towering inferno , tv shows like lost in space , time tunnel , and land of the giants tries his hand at a monster movie slash disaster movie about killer bees on a huge scale budget that went for the impressive stars in this big box office flop. Henry Fonda, Micheal Caine, Richard Chamberlain, Ben Johnson, Olivia DHaviland,Bradford Katherine Ross, Richard Widmark.Jose Ferrer, Fred McMurry And Cameron Mitchell. At almost 3 hours. Helicopters downed by what looks like coffee grounds on the screen. People being swarmed and killed. Irwin Allen was embarrassed about this commercial flop he didn’t want any of his associates to talk about it.this was listed in the golden turkey awards book by the Medved brothers. Is it really that bad? Yes and no. So bad it’s good ? Well it must be seen to be believed . The buzz on this is that this is a famous paycheck movie for Micheal Caine.
