Fic idea I will never write
The plot is just that the military assigns a therapist due to some legal order from the government but the psyche is just dog water. absolutely garbage
Ghost refuses to go at first
But after hearing all the stories, esp after the therapist hurts soaps feelings Ghost decides something must be done.
So he goes, and has fun telling his story and scares the psyche off.
That’s the story, that’s the one shot. Maybe soap over hears and it causes some strife as ghost doesn’t want someone worrying about him but they get together at the end. As a treat :)

ghost having a missing tooth. just a lateral incisor, lost it only a few years into the military, never bothered to have it properly replaced. he has a retainer with a fake tooth, sure, but that’s a special occasion sort of thing—because why would he wear something for cosmetic purposes when his face is hidden behind a mask most of the time?
but when he and soap start going out, particularly on leave, ghost suddenly finds himself self-conscious and constantly wearing that retainer. even makes the stupid decision of eating with it in on occasion just because he doesn’t want soap seeing the gap in his smile. which is weird for ghost, because he’s never felt embarrassed by it before—but maybe with soap and his perfect smile, it makes ghost feel like he’s lacking in contrast.
soap finds out on leave, when their departures were staggered and ghost arrived home two days later than soap. he never bothered with the retainer that day, too tired from travel and work, and doesn’t realize it’s missing until he’s pulling off his standard civilian-get-up-surgical-mask and smiling at soap in greeting.
it’s clear that soap notices immediately. his eyes flicker to the smile and a furrow finds his brow as he asked what happened in the past two days he was gone that had ghost missing a tooth.
ghost’s smile fades instantaneously before he ducks his head and mechanically utters out an explanation.
then soap asks to see his smile again. insists until ghost finally offers up a grimace, then contemplates it a moment before deeming it cute, of all things.
it’s only natural from there that soap does anything in his power to make ghost smile, because the missing tooth is something charming in a way soap can’t explain. it’s just so very ghost, and how could soap not love that?

Thinking about a soulmate AU where Roach was Simon’s soulmate before Roba, but after Roba Ghost was such a fundamentally different person that their fates changed.
(String broke, marks faded, whatever the AU dictates)
They still love each other. They planned to take on the world together until death and nothing will change that. But the feelings are gone. They tried to make it work when Ghost got back, despite the fact that they could clearly see fate had changed its mind, but it just fell into an easy friendship with all the trust and none of the romantic need.
Maybe sometimes they miss the romantic love they used to feel, but they still have each other and still have love even if it’s different now, and that’s enough.

Soap one day is told he’s getting a surprise and is blindfolded and driven for hours in what he’s pretty sure is circles. Until he’s told he can look and out of a beautiful yet utterly run down lake house comes a young boy with a bright smile followed by someone that could only be Simon’s brother.
Love the idea that some of Simon’s family did actually survive, but in order to protect them he made it seem like they were all dead.

Ghost stops going out with Soap as much,
Soap gets thinks Ghost lost interest and is a bit offended,
Soap tries to pull back
Which makes Ghost think Soap believes Ghost isn’t doing enough,
So he pushes himself so hard that he collapses while they’re out.
Soap figures out that Ghost has chronic pain that recently got so bad that everytime he stands up he can barely remain conscious
But he’s been hiding it and pushing through for Johnny
Soaps now upset that he didn’t trust him with that information, thinking ghost doesn’t trust him.

I love the vampires have venom that makes the bitten feel hazy and euphoric trope so much
But then I tried to apply it the SoapGhost and I REALIZED or more like the characters wouldn't cooperate, because
now imagine Soap and Ghost having sex and Soap asking Ghost to bite him and Ghost pulling back agressivly like NO???
And soaps like why??
And Ghost really really sincerely meeting his eyes and
“Johnny it’s important to me you’re always able to fully consent”
like?? wow I wanted hot vampire sex, but really caring and sincere love works too I guess??

Teeth Headcanons for Modern Warfare Characters
I had many cool ideas for Price, some panned out, and others I figured out literally defy how teeth work ✊😔
But despite those challenges, I bring you my thoughts on
Captain Price!
Thank you @snootlestheangel for the INSPO ON THIS ONE! Also, I may have researched the teeth stuff some but I didn’t research the MILITARY so um, inaccuracies on the way nfsdkjfnsd
John always had a big mouth with plenty of space for all his teeth, including his wisdoms. For more than a decade and a half he never thought he’d get braces, he never needed them. His teeth had plenty of space! His dental journey was unremarkable for the first quarter of his life. Brushed, flossed some, average stuff.
And then one day, after 5 high-stress military years, he woke up with the worst ear pain he’d ever experienced. The high-pitched whine rang high in his ear mixed with a static he couldn’t shake. God, he feared he was going deaf. Sure his ears had been sore in the past, they’d whined and made that fuzzy noise, but never like this. Had he shot too many guns too close to his head? Faced too big of an explosion?
John had quickly rushed to medical, desperate to know what was wrong. To his dismay, the nurse immediately ruled out an ear infection. To his confusion, the nurse next put pressure on his jaw. To his horror, that pressure hurt like a fucking bitch.
John had nearly physically retaliated!
“Do you grind your teeth at night?” came the nurse’s next question.
Temporomandibular joint syndrome. Lieutenant Price had TMJ. He ground his teeth at night and in doing so had completely fucked his head. The doctor told him she was surprised no one had caught it earlier, as his teeth showed clear signs of wear, John had to sheepishly admit he hadn’t prioritized dentist visits after that, and the physicals he’d been through had never pointed it out. The doctor held back her criticisms only a little bit.
To remedy his current symptoms John was told to get a mouth guard to wear at night. It would stop him from grinding his teeth and hopefully aleve some of the symptoms. He didn’t like the idea of being reliant on sleeping with something in his mouth but if it would get rid of this pain… at least he wasn’t going deaf like he originally thought.
Yeah well, the mouthguard sucked. John hated it, even the really expensive one he invested in didn’t fit right. Plus, It was hell to bring it on missions as it could never be cleaned while in the field. But he lived with it because it was either that or deal with immense jaw pain, ear aches, occasional lockjaw, and headaches, (all symptoms that had been so chronic he had failed to recognize the agony he was in until it stopped due to the mouth guard)
Then John’s next physical rolled up and he mentioned his TMJ. He had never been sent to the dentist faster. The dentist was aghast at how clear the grinding was from the wear on his teeth.
“Yeah, but I wear a mouthguard now. Hate it but, it’s w-”
“I am going to recommend braces.”
“What?”
Price wasn’t even aware it was an option.
Yep, apparently what he thought was his teeth growing in fairly correctly when he was younger was in fact NOT AT ALL correctly. They weren’t crowded, but the perfect storm of misalignment created grinding, (the stress of his military job certainly didn’t help at all.) and according to the dentist braces could actually fix that.
John wasn’t sure he wanted braces (kind of a commitment! And they would probably take him off of active duty for longer than he wanted) But the dentist emphasized that a mouthguard probably wasn’t going to cut it in the long run, and John agreed. Besides, he really didn’t want to have to carry a mouthguard into the field and if he didn’t do that there were all the other consequences.
He talked to his superiors about it, laying on that classic John Price charm and they pulled some strings to let him keep rank and most of his work despite needing to go against regs to get braces. (He was helped by the fact that, according to his dentist, his braces were now a medical necessity to keep him a functional soldier at all)
So Price got braces.
He had to get spacers, (which hurt like a bitch) and huge metal brackets that he really hated. It took almost two years to completely fix his misalignment. And while he did move to a clear aligner after the first year, (costs of switching were all covered by the UK government, thanks army budget) he was out of the field for longer than he wanted to be. That being said, staying on base did wonders for his connections, he made a lot of friends in the time he was not risking his life every day.
After treatment he, of course, was prescribed a retainer, he still hates the inconveniences of a retainer but it's better than a mouthguard. He doesn’t HAVE to wear it every night just to avoid massive amounts of pain. He wears it,,, sometimes. Over the years his teeth have shifted back some, and so he still grinds some, especially when he is stressed out, but it's much more manageable now and he doesn’t have chronic TMJ anymore. (woo!)
This experience taught him the important lesson of paying attention to his teeth, and now he vows to make sure all of his boys know to do the same. And oh yeah, you know that he is a dad about that fact.
Rapid fire headcanons for these interactions
-Price was way over his head with Alex, tried to remind the man to brush his teeth once and basically unintentionally pranked himself. John got sucked into a nearly half an hour conversation about oral health. John was just trying to make a joke about him being fatherly, god damnit. He learned his lesson though and now he only pesters the 141.  (During this conversation both Alex and John decided that they wanted to start using a tongue brush and now its johns favorite thing to recommend to others.)
-Price originally worried about Ghost but Ghost had pretty good communication with his dentist now and he’s got this. He still pestered Ghost until he agreed to trying the tongue brush though.
-Price hovered over Gaz at first, but with a few reminders to floss Gaz is normally fine. He’s talked to Kyle about his cross bite—he was afraid Gaz was repeating his mistake of ignorance—but now knows Gaz has chosen to prioritize his military career over fixing it with braces. Price thinks that’s fine as long as it doesn’t harm him.
-BUT SOAP. …oh man Soap. Price got so concerned about Soap when he heard Gaz and Simon bully him about his oral health. ‘I just forgot a few times it's fine’ and… he was right to be. That man needs an intervention. Price has tried, he really has. He’s reminded the man to brush his teeth every night for a month, he has handed him floss. Has dragged him to medical to have his teeth looked at. The scot just laughs him off reminding him that he has that ‘perfect MacTavish smile,’ Price could wring his neck.

Also I actually do not care. I have other blogs. Like /Gen this will not effect my life. It’s a cool url I guess. That’s like the only draw back. /gen I don’t care what I do here. I just don’t have time to foster the brain rot anymore. I have to do the study instead
I feel the cod brain rot fading as I enter the new Acedemic year. Do I leave this blog alone unless I have a cod thought? or do I start posting other stuff if I ever feel like it?
